  2. Up north like that winters are terrible on cars. I grew up in Wisconsin and remember the snow turning pink under cars when a door was slammed hard. Granted, that was in the late 1960's, early 1970's, but stilll... Chris

  5. I actually saw a 61-61 Bubbletop down in Portsmouth, Ohio on Monday.' Looked VERY solid... Chris
  6. post away... Seriously. We need to get over the blues, and the only way to do it is with our mutual passion for cars.
  7. Agreed, (although the SD 455 thing appeals to me) and glad you have first gen Firebirds in your family. Love the pic, thanks. Chris
  8. GM's failure and success is a lot more complicated than that. I don't see anything wrong in your posts, actually. GM will be down in brands, lets just see what the future brings. Chris
  9. Local Dealer sold his silver one and now has one in Red. Looks GOOD. Chris
  10. Until people get real money and real jobs and the economy decides to do something other than tank...both companies will suffer. A marketplace of 6.5 million new vehicles/year isn't impossible... Chris
  11. That 65 is awesome....used to be a silver one like it running around here. Chris
  12. Brooke Shields (and that post shows me to be old!) Chris
  13. Saab sells well around here also. Chris

  18. Hey, everyone is down in the dumps here and it seems sometimes like we whine or talk politics more than we talk cars. Rules of the thread...used GM (only, no non GM) cars you'd like to own. Any car, any era. This is the thread for dreams. Chris Linky... http://www.race-cars.com/carsold/chevy/107...070395393pb.htm
  19. We have a bunch of Camaro's around here, I have seen a bunch on the road. The last 4 (yes 4) that I saw were all silver. Chris
  20. Yes to that car carrying on with a bow-tie... Chris
  21. You underestimate human stupidity. Guy got busted driving a Hyundai awhile back, was going 147 MPH. May have even read about it here at C and G, not sure where I read about it. Kid in Indiana got taged doing 149 in his parents WRX by the Indiana Patrol. I've done stupid stuff at those kinds of speeds as well, and I am a fairly calm person. At 150 miles per hour on public roads, things can get real stupid real fast. And it used to happen all the time in the good old days. I remember a certain race between a 'Cuda and a Boss 302 Mustang that was 150+miles an hour for some distance...back in the good old days. I also remember the limiter being checked on one of the first WRX Subies...some friends of mine...yes...it will do 142 fo sho...GOOOOD thing the Ohio patrol wasn't around at the time. When it comes to cars, speed and stupidity I am a poster child. Probably why I drive 4 cyl. stuff. One of our SCCA guys (I'm sure I've told this story before, but...) got tagged by a copter while he was running a Porsche, 158 on I 270 around Columbus. He did jail time for that one...and now drives a four cyl. Ranger. I am amzed at the guys in the Miata club who go from being 70 to 17 when they get behind the wheel of a car. But Cars+Speed+public roads=Stupidity. Chris
