  1. Until people get real money and real jobs and the economy decides to do something other than tank...both companies will suffer. A marketplace of 6.5 million new vehicles/year isn't impossible... Chris
  2. That 65 is awesome....used to be a silver one like it running around here. Chris
  3. Brooke Shields (and that post shows me to be old!) Chris
  4. Saab sells well around here also. Chris
  5. +1 NOTHING looks better to me than a 60's Pontiac ragtop....NOTHING... WOW...thanks! Chris
  6. Ditto on Chryco... Chris
  7. ...in a way we are... Chris
  8. ...and another...but look out when you see the price... http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/other/12...226704866ss.htm Chris
  9. Hey, everyone is down in the dumps here and it seems sometimes like we whine or talk politics more than we talk cars. Rules of the thread...used GM (only, no non GM) cars you'd like to own. Any car, any era. This is the thread for dreams. Chris Linky... http://www.race-cars.com/carsold/chevy/107...070395393pb.htm
  10. We have a bunch of Camaro's around here, I have seen a bunch on the road. The last 4 (yes 4) that I saw were all silver. Chris
  11. Yes to that car carrying on with a bow-tie... Chris
  12. You underestimate human stupidity. Guy got busted driving a Hyundai awhile back, was going 147 MPH. May have even read about it here at C and G, not sure where I read about it. Kid in Indiana got taged doing 149 in his parents WRX by the Indiana Patrol. I've done stupid stuff at those kinds of speeds as well, and I am a fairly calm person. At 150 miles per hour on public roads, things can get real stupid real fast. And it used to happen all the time in the good old days. I remember a certain race between a 'Cuda and a Boss 302 Mustang that was 150+miles an hour for some distance...back in the good old days. I also remember the limiter being checked on one of the first WRX Subies...some friends of mine...yes...it will do 142 fo sho...GOOOOD thing the Ohio patrol wasn't around at the time. When it comes to cars, speed and stupidity I am a poster child. Probably why I drive 4 cyl. stuff. One of our SCCA guys (I'm sure I've told this story before, but...) got tagged by a copter while he was running a Porsche, 158 on I 270 around Columbus. He did jail time for that one...and now drives a four cyl. Ranger. I am amzed at the guys in the Miata club who go from being 70 to 17 when they get behind the wheel of a car. But Cars+Speed+public roads=Stupidity. Chris
  13. Actually, I find owning a vehicle and running it into the ground to be very satisfying. Most of my cars haven't left under their own power...either they have left as collector cars on trailers or as dailyh drivers worn out on the back of tow trucks. My last two cars I got rid of as daily's were shot to crap when I got rid of them. Take care of a car and it will last a long damned time. Something satisfying seeing it turn 100K and then 200k. But I think Trincabob's car will outlive us all. Chris
  14. Roseanne Barr
  15. ....ah...the GM headliner that was an epic fail in every car they wold for twenty years solid.
  16. He didn't say no skill in marketing them... Chris
  17. Actually the H3 is a decently sized vehicle, and doesn't get that bad of a fuel economy. Had they put a small diesel in a H3...hmmm...perfect tow vehicle for a Formula Ford and an open trailer. Chris
  18. The Challenger is more the size of say a 1960's Fury than a Pony car. It looks killer in the B5 blue. The Hemi makes the car, IMHO. With 5 kids....hmmm...I could put two in the backseat and they would be far enough apart to keep from fighting with each other. Chris
  19. NICE color combo...btw... I also don't like the dark green on the Solara. Chris
  20. Not an SUV guy, but I kinda get the GC thing. Kinda funny, I am a big guy, and someone seeing me get out of the Miata the other day said "shouldn't you be a Grand cherokee kind of guy?" Chris
  21. Was it a solara ragtop or no...and why did you get rid of it? Chris
  22. ..a decent national rail system for sure. And until we get our energy problems solved, the less we go into debt financing cars the better. If gas goes to $6 a gallon, people will need the cash flow for fuel. I could actually handle living in Cuba, with lots of old 50's American iron around. Now THAT would be cool. Chris
  23. Leave the 307 in the wagon. So, Satty...what else have you done with the wagon? After seeing Camino's silver beast in person I'd like one... Really what I want is a 70-72 Cutlass Vista Cruiser. Chris
  24. I am in lust over the Bucik and the Mini, the Prius I can tolerate better than most here...but the Solara you owned....ughhhh. Did you like it when you had it? Chris
