  1. The earlier Dart bodystyle is really grwoing on me. Did you see the feature on the 383 4 speed 68 Dart they had in Car Craft? My buddy Dave and I were there when they were shooting that feature. They shot it right out front of the Alrosa Villa, where rock and roll guitarist Dimebag Darrel was killed. THAT was a MOPAR to die for...and I'm not kidding. Guy who owned it owned an old Sox and Martin race car as well...one of the nicest guys in the car hobby I've ever met. Chris
  2. Wow...figured this was coming. Hope they build a few more Solstice Targa's before they shut the plant down. A lot of decent hardworking people will be out on the street in this economy. Sucks, because a lot of our creative potential as a nation is going to absolute utter waste. Chris
  3. BTW, DF. Drove to PA this weekend and saw a bunch of cool old cars...my daughter and I had 60+ cool cars on the list we saw. Thought of you- 40 Dodge panel wagon, project, Primer black-sitting on rt. 30 down by Gettysburg. Outside of Harrisburg-56 Plymouth 4 door, sweet, teal and white, looked to be in good shape, but unrestored. Old red 50's Dodge farm truck, still running and in use, Lancaster Amish country. also: 65 Imperial outside of York, PA. Nice, that blue/green/teal color they had, and all of the chrome looked good. What looked to be a 65 Letter car 300 in maroon as we got close to Pittsburg, couldn't get close enough to tell. While Camino and I were eating breakfast at the Hot Spot Cafe, a late 40's tan plymouth pulled up and turned the corner. Looked damn nice from the front, but not so good in the side view. We both thought of you IIRC when we saw that. Chris
  4. ...oh, and sorry to be a poil sport but the car I have aq soft spot for is the RWD 300. It looks wonderful in that lineup. Again, DF, thanks. NICE work. Chris
  5. Yes we do. DF does great work. Wish there was some good way to get more people to our site, there is a lot of talent here. Chris
  6. It's all I thought it would be and more...I agree about the tail light thing. Nice ride. Should eat up the midwest interstate with no problems. Chris
  7. Thanks for the pics Camino! I'll look forward to seeing your work used "in anger" at the vintage races at Mid Ohio. Chris
  8. Like the color combo on the top pic. Is that tan or grey leather inside...i can't tell. Chris
  9. Seriously...the only two state with two cities is Ohio. Wouldn't want to live in Cincy, too far right politically. Some people love Cleveland but to me it needs removed from the earth. I've lived in Atlanta, pluses and minuses...but not where I'd want to live long term. Chris
  10. Going back to your phantoms thread...a 64-65 chev Sedan delivery/panel would just be the cat's ass!. I have a very real soft spot for this body style. I remember a beautiful light metallic blue 65 Malibu SS ragtop that used to run around my old home town of Muncie, IN. Factory 4 speed car! When I was a teenager, girl next doors boyfriend drove a red 65 SS Malibu. Damn, I just miss the days when those cars were everywhere. Chris
  11. I may be able to make it, depends on our "on call" schedule. Chris
  12. Sorry to sound disloyal to GM, but I am a huge Healy fan. Thanks, Camino! Chris
  13. The economy really sucks right now.... Sorry to hear about your job loss. Chris
  14. Me too, always had a soft spot for Malibu wagons 64-65. If you ever get to columbus, one of my neighbors (okay, guy lives just outside my development) has a really sharp 64 Malibu that is dark blue with old style Crager SS wheels. He ran out of gas just down the street from me coming back from a car show and I got a good close up look at his car. VERY nice. There was a well redone 65 wagon running around Columbus for a long time and then the car just disappeared. I like the two door wagons and esp. the El-Camino of that era, myself. Didn't Chevy also build a few panel vans based on that style 'bu...or am I wrong? Chris
  15. VW builds some nics cars. Too bad the dealer network sucks so badly, esp. in regards to service. That being said...all I can say is Wow! But I like the GTI even better myself.
  16. My daughter Joanna works as a volunteer teen at Pets Without Parents, a no kill animal shelter. The building is right next to a repair garage, and a C4 corvete sits along with a second gen Camaro, rotting away behind the garage. I count six C3 Vetts and an equal number of Second gen Camaro's rotting away within walking distance or short biking distance of my house. The amazing way that second gen Camaro's were destroyed would make a very long, sad and strange novel. Even in 1981 when I started driving, these cars were rusting badly in the midwest. I remember cars less than 10 years old with shot trunk floors and rockers...and visible rust bigtime on cars less than five years old. Guy who lived behind me when I was 12-13 had a pristine 73 RS/SS (Yellow, IIRC) that he traded in. Next owner beat the $h! out of it and drove it to an early death. That was just common with the era. Personally I'd just love an early second gen... Chris
  17. Being 43 years old and actually having spent time in Junkyards when I was a kid and wrecked examples of these cars were everywhere... Yes, even though they may suck in other ways...cars of the era were not that safe. Chris
  18. Mid Ohio Vintage is the twenty eighth. Let me know if you'll be there...I'll try not to be on call that weekend. Chris
  19. Lucas electricals
  20. Aquarium
  21. To me the 55 has it all over the 68. That 55 is one of the best pontiac designs ever...the 68 is just another old vette imho. Chris
  22. Cancelling that truck was just profoundly stupid. Chris
  23. Pull the trigger and buy that car. Seriously. Chris
  24. How far from Philly are you? Dropping my daughter off for a summer job in Scwenksville, at Camp Joy. Chris
  25. I'd like to have some C and G get togethers. I am actually driving to Philly tomorrow...if anyone wants to hook up late Saturday or early Sunday. Not sure where you live 'blu, or Viper, or Oldsmoboi, or.... But yeah, we could have get togethers. I'd like to have a few guys out to Ohio to see the Air Force Museeum in Dayton (which is fabulous) and autocross with either our local SCCA group or the Buckeye Miata Club. We have a few good places to eat around here...there is a great redneck biker bar just a few miles from my house that is a lot of fun to go to and they have great cheap food. We could also have a get together here in Ohio sometime and link it up with a race at Mid Ohio. Chris
