  1. Since this is an automotive forum...yeah...he is trying to get you to buy a "used car"...a Maverick....72 model....and a lemon. Chris
  2. Rabbit is a nice product but a bit pricy for a small car with a little lower fuel economy. The 2.5 is smooth and torqueish to drive, though. Hoping the diesel comes here in the next gen Rabbit. Chris
  3. Glad he had a good two months...that's great to hear! Chris
  4. I thought the Astra thing was off for you? But seriously, I like the refresh/redesign. Again, I think GM is getting on the right track here, folks. Chris
  5. They are awsome cars, there is a blck one in my neighborhood also. Chris
  6. Almost no car is, actually, not even a Nissan GTR. However, it is a damned nice car for 14k. I know you put off the Astra thing reg, but what are you really thinking right now in terms of another car? Just gonna drive the Azz-tech or what? Chris
  7. I know a couple of guys with a real knowledge of VW's, if you need tech help let me know. How is the Jetta doing otherwise? It is an automatic, yes? Chris
  8. Keep us posted with pics, I love that car and am enjoying hearing about it. Chris
  9. Just wait until your boy is older and loves cars! We had a 400 HP Lotus Caterham 7 also show up at our last Autocross and my son Joel and I were both able to snag rides when we were not racing. That thing is Insane! But seriously, my younger son is into scouting and we are going on two camping trips with the scouts this month, and we may do a road rally (TSD) or another Autocross with my older son. Being the dad to a boy is the BEST thing that can happen to a guy. Chris
  10. Sweet! I just love the smell of burning wood. Chris
  11. You'll be real happy with that 'balt. The interior quality on the car is impressive. Seems like the last several I've seen have had a MUCH higher build quality. Also, the center stack design in the car is really growing on me. Good luck with the new car. Chris
  12. We had one of those V8 Audi's show up at our last Autocross, and the owner had more money than sense and let us pretty much beat on it all day without mercy. A very impressive car! Amazing what stability control will do when you try to drift it sideways at 55 MPH! Chris
  13. Actually, I think a lot of people rightfully feel a lot of anger about what is going on in this country, and I think getting in here and yelling at each other is thearaputic, if nothing else. However, I still hold John McCain in contempt, as I do both Bushes and Reagan. Chris
  14. Thanks for the link! Chris
  15. One can only hope this backlash trend will continue. Chris
  16. They do when it is FOX news. Although several of the local Republican Idiots refuse to listen to even FOX, saying it has been overtaken by liberals. Chris
  17. Hey, if Arnold can hang his nnaked ass out in Terminator, Sarah can shake her ass in a red swimsuit and be V.P. Maybe Hef will get his wish and she will pose? Doubtful, but??? Chris
  18. Cobalt is probably a better real world car if it is going to see highway use. Cobalt also strikes me as safer if something happens. I've got two teens in the family that will both be driving soon (and a third not far behind). If something bad is going to happen, I would much rather it happen in a Cobalt than a Fit. Not that I would wish ill on a Cobalt, it is a fantastic car. Chris
  19. Looking forward to seeing what you think, reg. Chris
  20. One last post in this thread. Was working on a pole by the road by the neartest Toytoa dealer, up in the air and trying to get a ballast changed. Several Semi's full of trucks went past, and it took a moment to register. The only thing on the car carriers were Tacomas, and they weren't new, some were really nice and some were pretty crappy. There were quite a few Semi/Car carrier loads. Must have been a hell of a lot of buy backs. Chris Chris
  21. I believed you, Camino... Hope that counts for something! Chris
  22. I actually liked the older sorta a 7/8 sized Tundra much better. For a light duty pickup (pull a formula race car such as a formula ford, or a popup camper) it was about right. For an enclosed trailer and a Camaro/Mustang sized race car or a fullsized camping trailer or an open trailer with a tractor or excavating equipt....pass me the fullsize Chevy with the Allison tranny, please... Chris
  23. A lot of us will be stuggling to eat before it is all over with. Chris
