  1. Never driven one, but seeing nice clean ones for $1500 with less than 100k made me think. Chris
  2. Current Caddy CTS-V just ran the 'ring in under 8 mins with Heinricy at the wheel... Chris
  3. A prisitine used current gen Mustang GT 'Vert can be had for $24-25k... With a great aftermarket, a TON of whatever you want can be done with the other 10K, or just put it into a Mutual Fund. Pardon me, I'm cheap and love Mustangs. Chris
  4. I know someone with a G37, I am NOT impressed with anything Nissan is currently building, for 37K I want a $32,000 Challenger R/T with the Heritage package (coming out in spring 2009), a 78 Camaro Z-28 project car for $3500...and a few dollars left over to get to the track, where I will work on the pit crew of an SCCA Mustang. That should get me the best of all three worlds. Chris
  5. Camaro V6 may well be my kinda car...I like those numbers. Chris
  6. I disagree with you on a lot of things, but the Ridgeline and Pilot we can agree on. My wife laughs out loud every time she sees a Ridgeline, she thinks they are amazingly ugly. Chris
  7. Actually love the Vigor, have a friend with one and its a great car, an d nice loking in person also. The roadster in the OP makes me think a bus pass is in my future if I'm forced to buy a car like this. Chris
  8. I am amzed that GM has a 300+ day supply of these...I've seen exactly ONE Astra and ONE Aura on the road in the last 7-8 weeks. Saturn is building some amazing cars and no one seems to notice/care. I would love to have a Saturn Astra as my next car. Alas we just upgraded in the Miata department, replacing the former 91 with a 2002 so I've got to wait until I've got the Miata paid off... But I really am still thinking of getting an Astra. Amazing, Amazing car, and I love the way they drive. The Golf/Rabbit/GTI/Jetta et al are amazing cars also, and I'd love to have a TDI Jetta also...or a GTI. So many cool cars, so little time to enjoy them. Chris
  9. That would be the cat's ass... I really like the idea of a hidden headlight modern Camaro.
  10. I would second this. Chris
  11. Hell, you mention cars from high school and regrets...back in 82 I had a chance to buy a red on red 4 speed GTO convertible for $450 because it had a rod knock...it was a 68 convertible with a white top. Chris
  12. No one at all seems to be buying cars, toyota might as well fleet them. Chris
  13. Europe seems to get a lot of cool small cars that we don't. I plan to remedy this by putting a GTI or MINI Cooper S in the driveway as my next new car purchase. Chris
  14. It's a hot car. Kinda sad other convertibles of the era seem to ahve so little collector value. I've seen really nice Sebrings from the era at give-away prices. Chris
  15. This is why I like Central Ohio, where I live $275,000 buys a 3000 sq. foot log home that backs to a ravine and sits on about 8 or 10 acres of land. But I would also love to live in Seattle, I hear it is fantastic. It is a trip I intend to make again, I was there once when I was in College and thought it was wonderful. Chris
  16. This is being challenged... Which is good. My 18 year old daughter just graduated home-school high school. Chris
  17. Preach it to us, brother Andrew! Seriously, I am starting to love this car. It kinda took me awhile to "get it" but I think I kinda like it. Chris
  18. ...actually I think hell is about to freeze over! I didn't like it at all when it came out, but I think of the three I'd like a V6- Challenger. Chris
  19. ...as the saying goes "I'd hit it..." Chris
  20. That Pontiac is awesome, thanks for the pic! Chris
  21. One of the guys at the local electrical supply house just bought a Buick Grand National...for $2500. It ain't pretty. It's got a million Jesus loves you stickers on it, a regular Regal fender for one of the front fenders, the headliner is missing, and it needs paint in the worst sort of way. And it's got rust, but very minor. Also comes with a stack of paperwork that my tape measure says is three inches thick, the motor and tranny have been rebuilt by GOOD local people, the rest of the interior is damn near perfect, and it's a T-top car. Oddly enough, it was ordered with every option, including the upgraded stereo, but no posi rear end. Making me even sicker is that the same guy just sold his 47 Ford at Goodguys last weekend and is probably going to buy a 25,000 mile pristine Grand national with the proceeds, so he'll have two grand nationals, one for show and one for go. Also making me sick is the brother in law of a guy I know from work, bought a 68 Barracuda Ragtop (this one was very clean) slant six automatic nothing fancy...for $3600. Even sicker is that THIS guy also scored a REAL Boss 302 70' Mustang for 36,000...probably because the boss 302 had several modifications...but still... Another guy I know just paid big bucks for a 318 powered 70 Barracuda convertible that was rusty. But this guy has a correctly date coded 70 Hemi motor in the garage, air cleaner to oil pan complete, and is about to build the world's coolest clone. Also I managed to miss out on the chance to buy a really clean (but needeing some resto work, but decent car) 71 Skylark convertible for $4200. Wanted this one for myself. Chris
  22. (enter sarcasm mode) He'll just do what Mustang owners do, put a Cobra badge on it and Bull$h! about how fast it is.... "Yep, she'll do 58 MPH in the standing mile...." (exit sarcasm mode) Chris
