  1. FWD or not it's a hell of a car. Not everyone shares the RWD Bias... For 99.7% or the motoring public, it would work just fine. Chris
  2. Get the Challenger in Silver, seriously. It looks just Sooooo damned HOT in that Color! Chris
  3. ...and speaking of personal Bias, I'm going to pass on the BMW 6 series, the TL, the G8,and the Maxima. As soon as I can afford 35k to buy a car I'm going to buy a Subaru WRX STI, so go put that in your pipe and smoke it! (Unless I buy a new Camaro SS first!) Chris
  4. This thread is becoming useless because we are all expressing our personal biases in a sort of blind boxing match that has no winners. It takes real brains to tune a Honda. Hang out with the SCCA guys that do it. I know a professor of Aerodynamics at Ohio State that races a Honda in SCCA events, and she's 57 years old so that should do away with the ignorant ricer boy stereotype. The real Honda performance guys (and gals) and the ricers are two entirely different groups of people. Trust me, the real Honda performance people laugh at ricers as much as sixty eight does. Back in the 70's people who didn't know any better did stupid things with American Muscle cars (and still do-I've seen plenty of Cutlasses and Chevelles with lambo style doors and undercar neons). People do stupid stuff with Hondas. That does NOT make them a bad car for a performance application. I have a good friend with a Prelude with some suspension and power mods I am actually thinking about buying. It's a nice car with plenty of power that handles great. Is it a 68 GTO? No, and I don't want it to be, either. While we can all laugh at the TL, we have to remember that Honda is making money hand over fist in a very down auto market-they must be doing several things right as far as the consumer is concerned. Chris
  5. Which is what I was talking about when I said GM had so many cool, unique cars in their past. Chris
  6. Those Grand Prix cars were AMAZING! When I was a teenager a junkyard had 4 of the 62-64 cars, one of them with a tri power. They wouldn't sell any of them, or many part off of them, but they were complete right down to the 8 lug wheels. I knew a guy with a 71 Grand Prix who rebuilt it to top flight standards with all N.O.S. parts. He sunk a fortune into the car, but it was beautiful, all black. There are a few local Toranado's running around, I always like looking out from the Miata at them in traffic. When I was younger I knew a guy with a 65 Sport Fury just like the Indy pace car (White on blue) that was pristine. Wonderful, wonderful car. Guy was about 17 years old and just CRAZY about MOPARS. He babied that 65, which was unusual for a teenager. Chris
  7. That is about as far from FWD compact as you can get! Chris
  8. Keep us posted, Dave. Chris
  9. Would it not be easier to buy a Concorde with a 3.5 or a 300 (300LX, not current 300) with a 3.5 and enjoy the upgrade in ammenities? Chris
  10. I have a strange fetish for Green cars (ask my wife!). That year Z in that Color is about the best looking, sweetest car GM EVER built. Chris
  11. Depends on who you are and what state of life you are in. It's not a bad car (G37) just not my cup of tea. Have a friend that has one and loves it. Chris
  12. I love greens, I love that Color, and your right it would look great on the Camaro. Chris
  13. ...again it would be great to get Chryselr back. Look at the great cars they built in the 1960's, or the 1990's for that matter. It will be interesting to see what "new" vehicles they come up with. A cool Discontinued vehicle is the Crossfire, BTW. We have neighbors who bought a white one...and it is a cool car. Not my cup of tea, but cool none the less. Chris
  14. No offense, but we need more pics of Jen... Although you are pretty good with a Camera. Have you ever thought about becoming a photographer? Chris
  15. I would love to live in the U.P. and be a YUPER... chris
  16. If the B-Bodies are copies I'm kinda glad MOPAR did it...they are cool cars! Chris
  17. We may be closer than you think. I once almost bought an airflow, and I am leaving the Library right now with a book on the history of Chrysler. Chris
  18. I thought it was a little harsh. As a Miata owner, i am actually a big fanboi of the Solstice for some reason. Chris
  19. There are about 50 guys on the net using 66stang as a username...probably because Ford sold a ton of 66 Mustangs and they are still a popular car. Chris
  20. I'm not saying the car is sold by SCCA results, nor am I saying it is as good as the Miata. (I own a Miata and could have bought a Solstice) I am saying the Solstice has Merit. BTW, I agree on the Wrangler thing. My teenaged son will soon be driving and I have a teenaged daughter that will follow him in short order. I figure the Wrangler is one of the few things on the planet tough enough for them not to destroy...and it is a ragtop. Chris
  21. I love it...I'm a sucker for ragtops, and that one looks good. I'm also a sucker for big blocks... Chris
  22. +1 Although the Subie could be cool... Chris
  23. The Duramax is a great diesel. I've been thinking of picking one up used to act as a work truck/tow vehicle. Chris
  24. Ultimately, if you were a little more open to them, I think that you would enjoy the 70-74 E-Bodies. It took me awhile to warm up to them, and in some ways I still would rather have a Mustang or a Camaro, but they are cool cars. The B-5 Blue 70 Challenger S/E I saw at last nights car show was wonderful! Chris
