Fast and Furious 4 Trailer is out
People laugh at 5.0's but a decent running 5.0 or V8 Camaro can take a ricemobile, suck it through the intake and spit it out the exhaust... I'm glad you kept both your 69 and your 5.0. Chris

You know you're having a rough day when...
Dude, you have my sympathy. Yesterday A.M. we got a call saying one of the school busses for our subdivision had been in a serious wreck with a dump truck and that children were being taken to the hospital. It took us a little while to get details, turns out the bus had the accident right before it got to our subdivision...and that thankfully no children were seriously hurt. But I almost had a really, really crappy day. Sorry to hear about the job thing, the economy is in real trouble. Right now, everything runs on dead dino juice, so if the economy tries to get better it will just put the price of fuel and ptero products up and the economy will go into a slump. I know most people here hate liberals and people like Al Gore, but they are right about one thing-we can never have security and economic growth until we resolve our energy issues. But damn sorry about the job...and the car... If you get to feeling too bad I'll drive up to Michigan and we'll go out and BS about cars. I'm being serious about that! Chris

Fast and Furious 4 Trailer is out
Hopefully they wreck a lot of Mitsu Evo's and the like. There are some way cool Asian cars but there are also Asian cars that really just deserve to die. Looks like a decent way to spend a mindless evening. Chris

The pic we've all been waiting for
While we are praying to the gods of internal combustion, could we please include a ragtop version for the sun lovers here at C and G? Chris

The pic we've all been waiting for
GM is doing some awesome things.... Chris

The pic we've all been waiting for
...that's the cool part about having children that are car nuts. Two of my daughters and both of my sons are car nuts. And my non-car nut daughter has decided she wants a two seat ragtop when she starts driving, but doesn't want a Miata like dad's...she wants perhaps a Solstice or a Sky (my 18 y.o.). My youngest wants a Mustang ragtop, my oldest wants a Challenger at some point, and all of them kinda like the new Camaro. So I'm going to put these in my garage in the best possible way...using their money when they start driving and working! I just hope they stay in production that long. Chris

OH OH!
I've owned 7 "collector" or "special interest" type cars...55 Chevrolet 2 door post, 57 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop (yeah, it lacked that "B" pillar thing) 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback (289, 4 speed) 1970 Chevelle, 1971 Chevelle, 1991 Miata, 2002 Miata. With the 5 oldies...you couldn't hear the radio over the thumping V-8 even if you turned it all the way up. With the two newer ones, you can't hear the radio at 75 M.P.H. with the top down... So who cares. We need to start a thrtead about cars from the teens, twenties and thirties...just wayyy to much cool stuff we've forgotten about. ...and yes, I know you'd never be a Toyopet humper. However, I've got to give it to reg. and his fine feathered Ford. I remember many a pleasant weekend tailgating football games with my parents Country Squire wagons. It will be really cool to have reg carry on that tradition in his new ride. Congrats again reg, I can't own everything, and in my own way I am jealous. Chris

OH OH!
I would agree, but for 95% of my married life I've owned either an Astro/Safari van or an S-10 or both. Having a reliable newer car that runs through anything and starts when it is ten below saves lots O) dinero to own a cool collector car. I'm thinking VERY seriously about a third gen F-body, and if I get one it damn sure is NOT going to see an Ohio winter. Chris

Well that was fun......
Ouch! I've gotten dehydrated working on electrical things (You'd be suprised how much liquid you can loose in an open bucket truck in the sun.) Glad your o.k.! Chris

If (insert Asian brand here) did (insert wish here) I'd buy one....
Went out Autocrossing with the Miata club Sunday, and got to ride with a good driver in a Cooper S. Amazing car. Also got to watch a 2004 GTO thorugh the cones...also amazing!

OH OH!
Actually I love both. I love Brass era, classical (1930's Rolls, Caddy, Kissel, Stutz, etc.), 50's, 60's....even the 70's and 80's had cool cars (240Z or Buick Grand National anyone). Life is too short to miss any of it. Including the present. There are lots of cars I love being built right now. Chris

OH OH!
Yes, but he's passionate about them. Or perhaps he's just really sent here from Toyota to spy on us, and in reality he drives a Camry and wears Scion related clothing and wants everyone to sing Kum-buy-ya and drive a Prius. He's just under really deep cover... Chris

OH OH!
Actually in a strange sort of a way I would agree. The cars I am in lust over right now are the original Benz Patentwagen from 1896, several brass era cars from the teens, a Lotus Elise, a Lotus Elite, A spec Miata, an Austin Healy 3000 Mk III, an Ariel Atom, A cobra Replica... I would guess that having 50 LESS features is important in a car to me. Chris

Going For A New Look, Anyone Else Have A Beard?

Going For A New Look, Anyone Else Have A Beard?
...not really sure about this, but given enough time I think he'll start acting a little more grown up. Chris

If (insert Asian brand here) did (insert wish here) I'd buy one....
As a huge fan of both the original and new mini/MINI, I would have to agree! Chris

1991 Camaro Z28 1LE R7U resto
Those pics are great, thanks for posting them. Always did like the third gen Camaro bodystyle. Chris

If (insert Asian brand here) did (insert wish here) I'd buy one....
Mine too, but I think a modern day version of the original 240Z would be even better. Chris

Looks like Delaware's Senator Joe Biden is the pick for Vice President
+1 Were we to actually get someone who was competent and held some sort of "conservative' fiscal policy that actually wasn't delusional, and was also a Republican, I would vote for them. However, the current crop of Republicans is a disaster. No matter how bad Obama is he can be NO worse than Bush, IMHO. I still think McCain is a bush re-tread. Chris

Going For A New Look, Anyone Else Have A Beard?
I pretty much have to have a beard. I can shave clean at 6 AM and have a full 5 O clock shadow by 9:00 AM, and I'm not kidding about this. The guys at work used to call me Rabbi Yoder because they weren't sure if I was Jewish or Amish. Actually, I've had people think that I was cuban as well. But I don't think a beard fits very well in the corporate world. I've thought if I could ever get an electric razor that worked well I could shave 4-5 times a day and go for the clean shaven look... But that's about what it would take for me. Actually I kind of think most men look sort of silly without facial hair. Chris

Officially official: 2011 Chevrolet Cruze
I agree. Thats a fine looking car! Chris

End of the road for US automakers?
More troubling to me is the state of our educational system. My wife works for a local University, and from what I can see and tell we seem to be loosing our ability to think about things as a society. Chris

If (insert Asian brand here) did (insert wish here) I'd buy one....
...nahhh, you need a Viper. For thye price of a new GTR you could pick up two clean Vipers used. But a GTR would be sweet. Chris

If (insert Asian brand here) did (insert wish here) I'd buy one....
There is, but Sixty Eight drove a Datsun Forever, Carbiz and his BF/Husband/Partner are driving around in a Korean built car, Oldsmoboi IIRC is riding around in his BF's Honda since the battlewagon sold, You drive a Prius, Siegen drives an Acura Integra IIRC, I drive a Miata, half the people here lust after Nissans, Lamar drives a Nissan or two IIRC, Dodgefan drives a Prizm which is basically a Toyota, Moltar doesn't hate anybody or anything, Duncan drove a Mazda, BV drove a Mazda before the Volkswagen, etc. And lets face it, the Asians build some crappy cars as well as some brilliant ones. The RX-7 and RX-8 are brillaint IMHO, the Tundra is moronic IMHO. Chris
