  1. first we will have the Spark. which is a microcar. I havent seen one in person but im guessing it is near in size to the Old Metro. If they can price that about 10 grand or even lower it could be a decent seller. Ive heard it will get about 46 MPG. then the Aveo sedan and 5 door hatch. It would be nice if this had a base price around 13 grand. I would consider making a "sport" model with near 200 hp. there is also going to be some sort of FWD two door/3 door hatch. Look for a concept of it at the detroit auto show in january. I would put it inbetween the Aveo and Cruze myself. Id also consider keeping the Cobalt name for this car. Cruze is next and it will start in the 16's. also we need to drop in the 2.0L turbo from the Cobalt in this. then we have the Malibu, which we be redesigned next fall. then look for a new Impala, this will be built off the long wheelbase Epsilon II, in essence it will be about the same size as the Buick Lacrosse.
  2. I just bought this one yesterday. After driving it I was totally sold. one of the best cars ive ever drove. My link
  3. of course sales of Chevrolet, buick, gmc and cadillac sales are up. probably mostly due to the loss of Pontiac and Saturn.
  4. I actually like the Aveo Sedan better than the Cruze. I wonder what a 3 door Aveo hatch would look like? Or even a ragtop. I actually think if they made a 3 door hatch and a 2 door convertible this thing would sell like crazy. GM needs a lower end convertible. The lowest price GM convertible will be the Camaro and if the coupe starts at 23,000 you can add atleast another 5-6 grand more for the convertible. Im guessing that a V6 Camaro ragtop will set you back ATLEAST 29 grand. build a ragtop Aveo and put a sticker of 20 grand on it and watch it sell.
  5. Im 33 years old and Im going to consider the new Regal when it comes time to replace my 2006 Pontiac G6. I did have a 1983 Buick Regal once when i was about 20 years old.
  6. I think part of the reason why sales are up at Buick that much is simple. no more Pontiac's and Saturn's. How many of those sales came from would be buyers of those brands? Everything at Chevy that had a Pontiac "twin" sales are up. Malibu sales are way up. could it be because there is no longer a Saturn Aura or Pontiac G6 to buy?
  7. fairfax currently makes both the Malibu and the Lacrosse and they are at capacity at the moment. and Orion Mich is going to be building the next Generation Aveo and is currently changing over to that model.
  8. I heard that the hamtramck plant will be making some Malibu's. Kansas city is having trouble keeping up with building the lacrosse and malibu. The Orlando was going to be built there as well but that might be going to Lordstown. and dont forget that GM has two plants on "standby" status. Spring Hill TN and Janesville Wis. I could see one or even both of them reopen at some point.
  9. its on niether, its on epsilion II, Same as the Lacrosse. The W body Impala is being phased out after the 2011 model year. it remains to be seen if the current impala is replaced by a Zeta Caprice, or will it be built on Epsilion II.
  10. Id like to see this. maybe even badge it as a Monte Carlo
  11. I did see a spy photo of a Cruze wagon. and there was a story that said they are working on a 2 door Cruze as well. I think we see the sedan this year and the 2012 model will bring the coupe and wagon versions. Id like a Cruze but im in the market for a 2 door coupe. I am looking to replace my 2003 Cavalier in the next few months. looking at eiether a new Cobalt coupe or a new Camaro LS. I know I can probably get the Cobalt for ALOT cheaper than the Camaro.
  12. I dont think it looks too bad as a two door. I really hope they decide to build it. does anyone know the ratio of the Cobalt sold? My link
  13. I like it. this car would look sweet as a convertible also. any plans for that?
  14. hope they would keep the four round tailights on a two door cruze like the cobalt has now.
  15. what about a coupe version and call it a Rivera?
  16. This was supposed to be the next generation Saturn Aura and since it was already designed it would have been foolish to waste all that money and throw it away. and Buick needed a cheaper car than the Lacrosse if it wanted to survive. They should make a concept 2 door coupe version and call it a Rivera? see how that looks and get some feedback on it. So where is this car going to be built at?
  17. there was a rumor at one time that the kappa's production would be shifted to bowling green. id like to see a smaller cheaper version of the Vette built using a modified Vette platform. put in 3.6L DOHC V6 and sell the thing for 25 grand. or just put in the V6 in a base Vette, put in cloth seats and lower the price by 10 grand. you would sell a whole lot more of them.
  18. they almost had to change the name because the two cars will be built at the same time. they are working on a two door cruze but that wont be out for another year or so. the current cobalt coupe will be built until it comes out
  19. Lordstown also is going to produce the compact Buick model. It will be announced when the production model is shown at one of the major auto shows this winter.
  20. some sheetmetal and the interior is diffrent. other than that its the same. you have to expect that since it will be assembled in the same assembly plant.
  21. the people who would buy this are probably in thier teens and early 20's, single with no kids. or someone will buy this as a second vehicle to drive to work if they have a long commute.
  22. I actually like it. It looks ALOT better than the "smart" car. not to mention it will cost a whole lot less. So what kinda MPG are we talking on this car? gotta be in the 40's. Now I see why the Aveo production is being shifted to Michigan so they can build this in Korea??
  23. I have heard that there wont be a coupe version at first. plans call for the Cobalt coupe to be produced for atleast a year after the cruze sedan launches. So we probably wont see a Cruze 2 door until the 2012 model year.
  24. I wonder if they plan on doing a Coupe version? I have heard for now that the Cobalt coupe will still be produced alongside the Cruze for atleast a year after the Cruze launches. One idea id like to throw out there is to make a coupe/convertible simular to the Mitsubshi Eclipse. I mean why not even work with mitsubshi on the next gen eclipse and do a joint venture? to abandon the small coupe market would be a huge mistake. not everyone who wants a small car wants a sedan.
