  1. no it still has the 3.4L 185 hp engine.. im hoping the 3.9L or the 3.6L is offered soon.. after 07 the Pontiac G6 will probably drop the 3.9L, the 08 Malibu wont use the 3.9L eiether.. so that will free up capacity for it to be used in other vehicles..
  2. Ive heard there wont be any Pontiac Vans, crossovers or SUV's after the current models die.. the Acadia was originally supposed to be a pontiac instead of a GMC.. the next generation Torrent will be sold as a GMC also..
  3. im convinced that GM could buy a camry from toyota, or an accord from honda, put a chevrolet or pontiac badge on it and change the grille and the media would find something wrong with the grille.. they used to do this when the old corolla and prizm were around.. they would give the corolla a higher rating even though the two cars were nearly identical, with the same engine, transmission and were even built in the same plant..
  4. id like to see a midsize FWD Cadillac. they need it to battle the Lexus ES and the Acura TL.. if Lexus can have a midsize FWD sedan why cant Cadillac?? we will soon see an epsilion platform midsize from all GM divisions except GMC and Hummer.. Cadillac BLS, Pontiac G6, Chevy Malibu, Buick Lacrosse replacement, Saab 9-3, and Saturn Aura.. as well as the europe Opel and Vauxhall models..
  5. here is what id do with powertrain.. Diesels.. there needs to be a diesel engine avalible in the malibu, the hummer H3, the colorado and the canyon period.. hybrids: id like to see a hybrid Cobalt.. GM needs something to take on that ugly toyota prius.. E85: this needs to be expanded as option for the following vehicles.. the new camaro, G6, equinox, colorado, canyon, hummer H3, malibu, aura, and the cobalt.. here is the engines id use for passenger cars and crossovers... 1.6L dohc I4, 2.0L t/c dohc I4, 2.2L dohc I4, 2.4L dohc I4, 2.8L dohc V6, 3.3L dohc V6, 3.3L dohc diesel V6, 3.5L ohv V6, 3.6L dohc V6, 3.9L ohv V6, 4.0L dohc V8, 4.6L dohc V8, 5.3L ohv V8, 6.2L ohv V8, 7.0L ohv V8, and for light trucks/vans 2.9L dohc I4, 3.6L dohc I5, 4.2L dohc I6, 4.4L ohv diesel V6, 4.5L dohc V6, 4.8L ohv V8, 5.3L ohv V8, 6.2L ohv V8, 7.0L ohv V8, 6.6L ohv V8 diesel,
  6. I think Ill E mail this dealer and ask them " IF I BUY THIS CAR FROM YOU AND I KEEP IT THREE YEARS WILL YOU GIVE ME $25,000 MORE THAN ITS WORTH WHEN I TRADE IT IN?? "
  7. I look for them to show a concept convertible Camaro at the 07 NAIAS, we could probably see a new concept GTO there as well.. We still dont know where it will be assembled though.. Oshawa Ontario and Wilmington Del. are the rumored leading canidates.. Oklahoma City and Spring Hill TN are also possible. they should have no problem selling upwards of 120,000 camaro's a year, especially if they come in coupe and convertible versions.. Pontiac could probably move atleast 30,000 GTO's a year.. also I wouldnt mind seeing a Camaro with E85 capability.. which would be no problem if the 5.3L V8 is used. the displacement on demand would be a good idea too for the 5.3L..
  8. here is my list on when GM vehicles will get facelifts, redesigned and dropped.. this is compiled of facts, rumors, and insider info.. MAKE/MODEL YEAR INTRO FACELIFT DUE REDESIGNED Buick Lacrosse 2004 2008 2010 Buick Lucerne 2006 2009 2011 Buick Zeta sedan 2010 Buick Enclave 2007 n/a n/a Cadillac CTS 2003 2005 2008 Cadillac DTS 2006 n/a 2009/10 Cadillac STS 2005 2009 n/a Cadillac XLR 2004 2009 n/a Chevrolet Aveo 2004 2006 2010 Cobalt 2005 2008/09 2011 Corvette 2005 n/a n/a Camaro 2009 n/a n/a HHR 2006 2009 n/a Impala 2006 n/a 2010 Malibu 2004 2006 2008 Monte Carlo 2006 n/a 2010 Equinox 2005 2008 2011 Express 1996 2004 n/a Silverado 2007 Colorado 2005 2009 2012 Pontiac G5 2006 2009 n/a G6 2005 2009 2011 Grand Prix 2004 2008 2010 Solstice 2006 n/a Vibe 2003 2006 2008 GTO 2004 2005 2009 no 07 or 08 model Saab 9-3 2003 2007 2010 9-5 n/a 2006 2009 Saturn Aura 2007 Ion 2004 2008 * renamed astra Sky 2006 Outlook 2007 Vue 2002 2006 2008 GMC see chevrolet "sister" models
  9. im so glad they are bringing the camaro back.. there wont be T-tops in the new one though.. but it will have a power sunroof as an option.. the convertible will probably come out for model year 2010.. id like to know where the heck they plan on assembling this car? Oshawa ontario is rumored to be the top choice but the current impala, grand prix and lacrosse will be in production through the 09 model year.. the next logical choice would be Wilmington Del. on the old L-series assembly line.. yes the solstice and sky are built there currently but they dont use the old L series line.. the next choice would be Spring Hill Tn.. the Ion will go out of production next spring and its replacement will be imported from europe.. the fourth choice would be Oklahoma city OK.. it is currently idle.. where ever the camaro is built the next GTO will be assembled there as well.. so with both cars they would have no problem selling around 170,000 annually.. it also could be used to build the next Holden Monaro for export to australia.. right there could be another 20,000 units a year.. as for engines.. the base car will probably have eiether the 3.5L or 3.9L ohv V6.. with 224 or 240 hp this would still be a quick car.. the 3.6L DOHC V6 could also be used but the 3.5 or 3.9L seems more likely.. the next engine will be a 5.3L OHV V8 with 335 hp.. id also like to see this engine with E85 capability.. the next engine will be the stormer.. it will pack a 6.0 or a 6.2L V8 with over 400 hp..
  10. it will go into production in the third quarter of 2008 as a 2009 model.. which means they will be building them two years from now
  11. the engines will probably be a 3.9L V6 with 245 hp, a 5.3L V8 with 335 hp, and the top engine will be a slightly detuned version of the vette engine with about 390 hp..
  12. we will probably see a GXP G5 for 2008.. ive heard the delta platform cars are getting a minor facelift and a upgraded interior for eiether the 2008 or 2009 model year.. id like to see a GXP G5 with the turbo ecotec from the Sky.. with 260 hp it could finaly challenge some of the higher end imports..
  13. the monaro, and the next generation GTO and Monte Carlo will be basically the same vehicle.. the monaro will probably be a rebadged monte carlo.. the camaro will ride on this platform too but it will be smaller and will likely have a shorter wheelbase.. sort of like how the epsilion platform has two diffrent wheelbases..
  14. isnt the lansing car assembly plant now closed? they built a new plant nearby I think to replace it..
  15. id like to see an E85 capable Cobalt.. maybe even a hybrid system simular to the one used in the Vue green line..
  16. I belive if a country puts a tarriff on imported cars we should charge the same amount of tariffs on cars they import here.. thats the whole problem with the u.s auto industry.. other than canada and mexico we cant export any U.S. built cars anywhere without a large tariff slapped on it.. but every dang counrty in the world can dump all their cars over here for a small tariff.. something is seriously wrong with this picture.. id slap a 20% tariff on EVERY imported car sold in the u.s.a.. i dont care if GM or Ford builds that car.. if its not built in north america we need to raise the tariff..
  17. ive looked at the GM China lineup.. not too bad overall.. i still think we should export some of our north american lineup over there.. for the Chevrolet lineup id send over the HHR , the 2 door Cobalt, and maybe the Equinox.. for Buick id send over a version of the lambda crossover..
  18. id like to see a coupe and a convertible version.. id make the 3.6L the base engine.. the V series would be still powered by the corvettes 6.0L V8.. the mid level CTS's would be powered by a supercharged 3.6L..

    new Rivera

id like to see the return of the Rivera.. if it was brought back what would be the best platform to use??
  20. id like to see the return of the Rivera in some form.. hopefully on the zeta platform. id drop the 3800 V6 from the entire Buick lineup and make the 3.6L dohc V6 as the base engine on the Lucerne.. and the 3.5L V6 would become the base engine on the Lacrosse.. id drop the Rainier.. the Enclave looks good as is..
  21. H1: sadly it will be soon no longer with us.. H2: a new H2 is due for 2008/09 so id make no changes to the current model. except maybe add the 6.5L turbo diesel as an option.. H3: id consider offering a V6 and/or a small V8.. the current 3.5L inline 5 is just not powerful enough for this vehicle.. although ive heard for 07 it is getting a slight HP bump. what id like to know if it would be possible to shoehorn the 4.8L V8 in the H3?? another option would be adding a supercharger or a turbocharger to the current 3.5L.. H4: this would be a small jeep wrangler type vehicle, it would be offered in two door convertible, and four door hardtop.. it would be based on a shortened H3 platform.. there would be a simular rebodied GMC version of this vehicle as well.. H8: this would be a full size pickup based on the new gmt900 platform.. it would be based on the 07 silverado and roll down the same assembly line but would have diffrent sheet metal from the a pillar foward. and the bed would differ somewhat.. unlike the Chevy though this hummer truck would have alot fewer options.. only 4X4, only with a V8 or a diesel V8, would only come with a 6 foot box.. and only as a regular cab.. and im sure they could pawn off atleast 500 a year to uncle sam for military duty..
  22. a new H2 will probably come out for the 2008 or 2009 model year..
  23. what would you guys think about a Hummer version of the new full size gmt900 pickup? of course it would only come with 4X4, with only two engines a gas/ethanol V8 and a diesel V8, with only a regular cab, 6 or 8 ft box, and a true off road package with heavy duty shocks, suspension and skid plates?? so it would be pretty much a pickup version of the next gen H2.. maybe even sell some to the military..
  24. the reasons why the GTO didnt do well are boring styling, too high of a price and when it first came out the dealers added thier little B.$hit " market adjustment" sticker to the already high window sticker..
