  1. Well $h!, that sucks for your friend I really feel for him. Maybe he'll get lucky and it'll get "Lemon Lawed"- keep us posted.
  2. QUOTE (capriceman @ Oct 25 2005, 07:42 PM) I talked to Bob Lutz in person ( I think he is famous to me) I almost got ran over by MI Govener Jhon Engler or what ever at Mackinack Island. How do you get run down on an Island that doesn't have cars on it? Horse and buggy moving to fast for ya?
  3. It doesn't look like anything to me...
  4. Here in Canada G8 V6s are going for 23900, Uplanders and Montana SV6s for 15995, Cobalts and Aveos for 14995.... It's going to get worse too.
  5. They're switching Hamtramck to Delta II (Volt and Orlando) in 2010, so I assume that would be the end of the world for the Lucerne and the G-DTS.
  6. Apparently mine is the rarest, only one percent of the population sharing my INFJ personality... INFJs are characterized by their strong sense of values, of right and wrong. These differ from those of the SJs in that they are *humanitarian* in orientation, rather than traditionally *societal*. Like INFPs, INFJs are extremely idealistic, but INFJs are vastly more practical, with a strong grasp of organization and detail which reflects itself in all of their undertakings, whether political movements or company social events that must satisfy a wide range of employee needs. INFJs tend to question and examine their own motivations constantly. Needless to say, this can cause a great deal of stress for the INFJ in question, which they sometimes resolve in a rather convoluted manner: by deriving a Higher Principle from the "selfish" need. ("It's not OK to object to the proposed menu for the company dinner dance because I don't like it *myself*, but it *is* OK to do so because it's not nutritous, or doesn't take into account ethnic preferences, vegetarians, etc." -- all of this subconscious.) Like all NFs, INFJs care deeply about people, both as individuals and in terms of humanity as a whole. INFJs are notable for their exceptionally strong empathic, even psychic abilities, which can sometimes cause them discomfort and even pain in their dealings with others. Perhaps because of this, INFJs truly open up to only a few intimate friends--usually very long-term relationships or obvious "soul mates." Paradoxically, INFJs often appear to be extroverts to most of the world; they are almost always friendly, sympathetic, and interested in people, and sometimes positively charismatic. This can be puzzling and disappointing to those (usually I's) who are drawn to them in search of a non-surface friendship, and find they just can't get very far. Their combination of empathy and strong verbal skills make them natural writers, especially of fiction or of non-fiction requiring a restrained emotional tone. (I think Kiersey tags INFJ as "The Writer") Counseling and psychiatry are classic INFJ professions, but you also find them fairly often in the 9-to-5 environment. INFJs make talented and congenial employees and co-workers, and often-inspiring managers. They all may suffer, however, with the tendency many Fs have of backing down to avoid confrontation, even when this is a strategically bad move. 7. Well out of the other two Detroit Automakers Chrysler makes only two products that I would buy (300, T&C), while Ford makes more models that I would buy (Focus, Fusion, Taurus, Taurus X, MKS, MKX), so I'd have to go with Ford.
  8. Still doesn't explain why they went to Chrysler who is just as close to bankruptcy more than they went to Ford.
  9. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...PStory/Business How the frack did this end up happening, I frankly can't believe it but there you go. At least in Canada the consumers went to other American brands- all three still outsell Toyota. If it gets much worse I'm going to have to start making connections at Ford dealers.
  10. I've been thinking a lot about picking a nice low mileage DTS as a second car as well lately... Enginewise Cadillac almost all of the major reliability kinks of the Northstar Engine in 2003, including the Oil Pan, Headgaskets and Seals. All of these were problems in the Pre-2000 Devilles especially. Post Year-2000 Northstars don't require premium gasoline either which is always a plus. Late 1990s Devilles weren't very reliable in the electronics department or even in the engine department sometimes. The current DTS and even the later final gen Devilles do not suffer from the kind of electronics problems that seem to have plagued late 1990s cars. Cadillac has had a lot of time to work the kinks out of the system and you should take note that JD Power gives the 2000+ Devilles 5 Stars for Dependability, JD Power rates the 2006 DTS for dependability this year on the VDS in fact. A lot of the technology that they were offering in those 1990s Devilles like computer controlled suspensions and rain sensing wipers were still not really smoothed out common systems but by now they are practically everyday and have been made more dependable.
  11. Surprise Surprise... Maybe those import-loving auto panel members will take note that everybody is hurting right now, not just General Motors, Ford and Chrysler.
  12. Wow and here I was thinking I was the only one going to do that (with my Impala). All I need is a nice rock-solid, inexpensive second car to drive in the winter and the equation is complete.
  13. I would really get frustrated with an engine like that... larger pushrod engines are so much better IMO.
  14. I'm starting to think this way... Obviously I'm most familiar and comfortable with the predictable dynamics of FWD, but I think I reached the epiphany when I was driving the sans safety feature G5 this winter- car control and simple physics I really don't know what I should be afraid of- sure if there's a car that offers RWD and AWD I'll take the AWD for the piece of mind and simplicity but I really don't think that RWD is a Dealbreaker anymore for me... Especially if it's a bigger car 1000$ for snow tires and steel rims plus sandbags in the back and I figure I could be fine. balthy- I figure I'd get four snow tires instead of two so the car looks the same and I can protect the alloys in the winter, as well as make sure that the treadwear is relatively equal for all four of the fairweather tires. I suppose you'll be able to tell if I'm a convert if I have the balls to buy a newer Ford Panther as a second car. (I don't want to drive my Impala in the winter)
  15. Looks like a fat Cruze... I'm glad it don't look like this.
  16. Old People are adorable aren't they? The MKS is no Town Car or DTS... It doesn't have the formal roofline to suit a fabric top.
  17. Some Professor at the University here has one... rare but puketastic.
  18. yeah but the standard Aveo still comes with a stereo system and Onstar.
  19. Remember last April Fools when he fell for C&Ds prank about Toyota buying the rights to and restarting Oldsmobile... and reported it for the entire day as fact?
  20. Jeez, a large Epsilon Cadillac... that will not fly with me... There are more than enough compelling reasons for me to pick a Town Car over the current DTS, moving it from G- to a platform that in in a shorter iteration sells a 20K$ 4-Cylinder Chevrolet is just a step too far. At least Ford had the good sense to put the MKS on the D3 Platform instead of what the Fusion rides on...
  21. Anyone who signs a contract effective until age 92 has balls...
  22. If America went Isolationist, Canada would self destruct because we have nobody to sell our $h! too... so um, No Thanks.
  23. I like that new Lincoln MKS too...
