  1. Yeah, what Viper said... *choke*. The vehicle, in person, does resemble a squirrel gathering nuts with big, round eyes and tiny, spindly legs. I'll be interested in seeing if the Patriot comes off better or if it looks like a Power Wheels Cherokee.
  2. To get the advertised horsepower out of the Civic, rev the pee out of it, then get 17 mpg... from "the most fuel efficient car company in America".
  3. DTS is F, not R.

  5. Hmmm... I shot off at the mouth without clicking on the link. My fault.
  6. Located in York, PA (1/2 hour away) 2007 G6 GT coupe floor mats Sport Package (3.9L, 6 speed manual, 18" rims, Stabilitrak, dual exhaust) Sun & Sound (sunroof, CD changer) Electric Blue/Ebony cloth List price: $24,785 I think this calls for a road trip tomorrow.
  7. Something about moccasins and walking a mile...
  8. Perhaps... the reason the new truck was only shown briefly is because it is not on the lots yet. Still, a lot of people may go to their dealership this weekend looking for the new truck, only to be disappointed to see 800's still on the lot. This ad is only the beginning of a major ad campaign. They are setting the stage for subsequent commercials, which, I am sure will more prominently feature the new truck. We should not judge the whole '07 Silverado ad campaign by one commercial. Let Chevrolet tell the story of the new truck over the span of the campaign, then judge it for effectiveness.

  10. You're a good son, Camino. Please take care and come back when you can.
  11. The fastback, full hardtop coupe concept was such a tasty stunner. Will this be hunchbacked like the MX-5?
  12. Looks very good, and I was going to say the same thing as Superfly - the car is very similar to the concept. I am happy for the brand differentiation GM gives its customers. This is not a SAAB, a Chevrolet, or Saturn. Clearly, it is a Pontiac.

  14. Thanks for the info. Show season is going to be excellent this year, I think.

sketchy, yes, but a link proving my sanity... :AH-HA_wink: http://movies2.nytimes.com/mem/movies/revi...FB166838E669EDE

  17. After seeing a photo of a Phantom in a powerslide in Car, or was it Top Gear? I changed my mind about the car. I like it. Not as much as a Flying Spur, I guess, but I think it's pretty tough. As far as stratospheric cars go... right now I am drooling all over the '07 CL63 AMG in this week's Autoweek. Badass to the core.
  18. I'm undecided on something specific. Even though I use it for its intended purpose very rarely, I am wondering if I will miss having a truck if I buy a car. Vehicles I like: G6 coupe Cobalt SS/SC Solstice GXP 900 Silverado/Sierra shorty Sky Rabbit 2 door Mustang GT Charger SXT Caliber R/T manual trans

  20. An attractive car satisfies a want and fills a need. A boring car only fills a need. Yes, Toyota has succeeded building boring cars. We need something different. Cadillac has been transformed in the modern age and has erased many years of customer apathy... with design. It is time for GM to let that attitude trickle down to all the NA divisions, before it is too late. We can harp forever on parity in reliability with the Japanese and it will not do any good. Design is going to be the next dealbreaker, and GMNA has got to focus on designing cars that are authentic to each of their brands. On the Ford side, Ray Charles could see that the 427 Concept would ignite much more passion here in the USA than the Falcon, as it is. Rebody the Falcon in 427 clothing and Ford would have something that fits... perfectly.
  21. Right, Tauruses and Luminas. Exactly what the domestic industry needs to break out of the doldrums. Brilliant. Everything doesn't need 400hp, but boring cars have killed us. Memorable cars are what we need now.

    Help!

That's why the car is a curiousity. It did exist, though, complete with "Golden Anniversary" badges (I seem to remember something about the hood and steering wheel having the badges). The only one I've seen was in the movie, but I remember reading something about it later. I just have not been able to find the reference.
  23. They should've taken the Magnum.

    Help!

In 1955, Oldsmobile built a few Golden Anniversary 88s, painted black and gold two-tone. Burt Reynolds drove one in the movie "WW and the Dixie Dance Kings". I've been agonizing over this since the Hershey show. If anyone has any information on this car, how many were built, and the significance of it, I'd really appreciate it.
