  1. When I saw that last sentence I thought you were talking about the new Civic.
  2. Burick. Paper or plastic?
  3. Ah, don'tcha just love good ol' Pennsyltucky RUST HOLES? :AH-HA_wink:
  4. Is that a good or bad poltergeist hovering above it? Those old Mopars were tough as nails. Cool.

    Pictures!

Mr. Dart has a bit of a crush. That's cute.
  6. Coke. Kleenex or Puffs?
  7. It would be so frickin' cool to have like a button on your keyless transmitter that would start the engine and heat or cool the car to your settings, waddya think?
  8. Keep smiling, Viper. A lot of people here think highly of you and want to see you do well. You have one hell of a future. You're already ahead of the game v. millions of others because you're out to your parents, even if it was inadvertent. Once the shock wears off for them, I believe they will support you even more, and that's a great starting point in adult life.

    WARNING!

No problemo, Camino. Bring 'em on!
  10. '66 Chevelle Malibu SS in Marina Blue... first car I have a memory of. Mom got it in the divorce. First car accident for me, I remember standing up on the front seat, then *BOOM* I was looking up from the floor under the dash after she hit the back end of a parked 50's Cadillac. I guess I was barely 3. Marina Blue is a popular color for these at car shows, so I see one from time to time. '73 Pontiac B-body sedan, especially a Catalina. Very special memories for me because my grandfather gave his to me for my first car. These are rare as hen's teeth these days. '81-'87 Grand Prix. My first new car, silver/black landau top/red vinyl buckets. Another gift from grandfather. Grew to hate it then (lots of driveability problems with first-year engine computer), have fonder memories of it now. '75-'78 Imperial/New Yorker Brougham. Grandfather's last Chrysler in a long line. He loved his '77 NYB. '89 Caprice Classic Brougham LS, grandfather's last car. He never was a Chevy man, I always was (from dad's side of the family). I believe he bought it as an inheritance gift to me. He passed away that year, and the car was used to shuttle my grandmother to and from the grocery store and the doctor's office. She went into a nursing home, and I agreed to sell the car toward her care there. Sheesh, sorry for the novella.
  11. These people are punishing themselves for something they think is bad within themselves. Does that make any sense? Guilt can be a powerful motivator, then it becomes their mission to make others feel guilty. It is not healthy.

  13. I'm very glad to hear things are happening for you, Vipes. Hopefully you and your parents are coming to an understanding, which can only enhance your relationship with them. "Ryan" is a very dangerous name, mostly good danger, but yeah. Have fun and be careful. You were in school when you had your "moment" with him? That's brave.

  15. I've read the thing about academy voters not screening the movie in a few different places, but I don't have a link to the articles. I'm dropping this. It's become pointless. Everybody here is a prisoner of their geography.
  16. Creative and hilarious.

  18. aww... (((GMTG74))) Yes, I believe it will be worth it, and who knows, maybe this will be your chance to woo her all over again.
  19. How many times has "Crash" been done? How many times has "Brokeback Mountain" been done? BBM was the only film about something truly new and different being portrayed. It is a groundbreaker... something that simply cannot be said about the other noms, and it was done in a way that made it more universal in its appeal than any supposedly gay-themed movie before it. It opened eyes and changed minds because it was simple, honest and real... attributes that people still look for. It has been said that many academy voters did not even see Brokeback Mountain because of their preconceptions, yet, the makers of Crash lobbied hard for their creation to win over voters.
  20. More fantastic GM styling news... and I noticed that mention of the RWD Ford sedan based on the Mustang platform... excellent! Bring 'em on! Being true to yourself is the only way to succeed!
  21. Agreed, George Clooney's speech was very classy.
  22. That opening sequence was pretty funny, with Stewart "dreaming", and I found the "old western" sequence pretty funny as well. I am going to rent "Crash" soon. It does look good.

  24. Well, I'm staying home from work today and parking myself in the corner in the fetal position. This just ain't right. Seriously, I guess I really wanted it to win the big prize because it hit me on such a deep, personal level. I "got it", and I know now it completed its mission even without that certain little golden guy on its mantel. It played in Peoria, so to speak. Congratulations for the 3 Oscars it did take home. I went to bed at 10:20, so I just read about it this morning. Oh well, I know which movie I will be purchasing when it becomes available on DVD so I can put myself up on that mountain whenever I feel the need.
  25. Yes, that was a great GM commercial.
