GM News: Mark Reuss Takes On Role of President of GM
ocnblu replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
You're so amazed, it's like you grew up in a far-off land where ICE vehicles were not 100% the norm. Really?- 57 replies

CES 2019: 2019 Nissan Leaf Gains More Range :Comments

Perfect excuse (persecution of Ghosn) not to intro it. It wasn't missed. Who cares? Complete and total nerdmobile. Distinctly powerful method of birth control.- 18 replies

$39,530 for a Grand Cherokee Laredo E with All-Weather Trail Rated package and trailering package. Sounds to me like a much more valuable vehicle over time than a Blazer RS AWD priced in the mid $40k range with no options. The Jeep is for town and country, even back country, where the Blazer is strictly street, and that limits its value. I love the Walnut Brown on the Jeep, and that's good, because Jeep has a severely restricted color palette on the Grand Cherokee. Wondering why that is. Drew, the RS is also available with 3.6L for 2019 in the Traverse. I guess their hand was forced by their own Blazer, re: RS trim more widely available.

https://www.chevrolet.com/suvs/traverse-mid-size-suv/build-and-price/packages Not true. I can confirm this because local dealer recently had an AWD RS in Cajun Red.

Blazer Build&Price is finally up, and one detail I find odd, yet telling, is you can either click on a black nameplates kit, or the black bowties, but not both on a Blazer 2LT, it is like they don't want customers to dress Blazer in sport apparel unless they pony up for RS. Also, the silver painted alloys... there is no machined wheel option, as with the Edge SEL for about $800... Chevy offers a black 20" wheel package for $1995. Again with GM's pricing structure...

Real nice '19 Edge SEL AWD in Baltic Sea Green with Dune vinyl interior at a local dealer. It is hard for me to get excited about the Blazer in lower trims that I could afford. The RS looks the best. Even in PA where AWD is "needed", the Blazer RS models in the pipeline are all FWD... tells me that dealers know there is going to be price resistance, and with GM touting "incentive discipline", they're apt to sit on the lots... Edge ST can be bought cheaper and has way more power, with standard AWD.

LOL your opinion is invalid, after gushing over the Riverboat and Endosquat electric "trucks".

When are you getting one, or did you already spring for one? PICS PLEASE. That's funny that every single YouTuber that has bought a Tesla has had problems.- 57 replies

Electric vehicle Nazis. Perfect sum-up.

Mom says she likes the Forte I helped her get into... but I know she'd rather have a tall hatchback, like a Soul or Nissan Chinx (her word). The lease deal on the Forte was exactly what she could afford in payments at the time.

"Why is it thirty-nine thousand dollars? You can get a truck for that!" - mother's wisdom when looking at a Bolt Monroney. Always listen to mother.

OK, you asked the question, here is the answer: no. ICE vehicles are not weird to the Amish.

...except there is no getting around the fact that EVs are, essentially, weird. No matter what sort of cloak you wrap it in.

I like the looks of the new Escape pictured in the spy shots, but I would be in the demographic for a Maverick by far. I moaned and cried when the current Escape came out because I thought the previous one looked truckier, which is what I prefer in my faux SUV. God but I do hate that one dude Rachel Maddow. I love to watch her smug pre-election videos and laugh.

That Prius AWD, with the TRD lift kit, BFG K02 tires, class III hitch and front winch would be pretty sweet. -

There is no natural personality in an electric motor. Any uniqueness will need to be added artificially. It will be no more exciting than a generic Power Wheels chassis with a silhouette body hung on it of any number of styles. Gag.Me.With.A.Spoon. No way in hell, Paco.- 57 replies

I think you're right. It seems to have turned blue. Do not resuscitate. -
But... skeeter... you can still get one... and everyone around you will drive slower... you don't actually have to hot dog it, but you'll be going faster than everyone in sight...
