  1. Are you being serious? I find it hard to believe you can't see that this truck has nothing in common with the outgoing model. Look how slim the pillars are. The cab is clearly all new and different. The whole truck is bigger with much different sculpting over every inch. A person with working eyeballs doesn't even need to see them parked side by side to see all the glaring differences.
  2. Conservative styling lasts much longer. I am surprised at the negative attitude toward these trucks on this board. They're clearly all-new. And I don't understand the need for a Cadillac dashboard in a pickup truck... a vehicle that has to be all things to all people more than any other class of vehicle on the market. I like the Chevy the best this time around. I think it looks great. It is spare and clean and masculine, without anything to clutter the serious look of it.
  3. Here's a video of the blue LT Z71 heading down a country road. Proud Chevy truck heritage in FULL EFFECT. Holla!
  4. For those wanting to see the Sierra without the LED headlights, look at closeup photos of the maroon SLE. Very pleased and hopeful after hearing the big kahuna speak of the upcoming Colorado/Canyon. If any new GM truck could realistically be mine, it would be one of the new midsizers. Makes me all the more curious to know when they'll be unveiled in US trim. If the top engine is this new 4.3L, I'll be over the moon. The bumper step is a simple, yet superior solution to Ford's rickety contraption of a tailgate step. It can be used with tailgate up or down and it has no moving parts to complicate it! I'm really in salivation mode waiting to see a regular cab shortie Silverado.
  5. I am pleased with the bold, yet conservative, professional look of both trucks. There is a distinct lack of bull$h!. You get real, honest functionality here. GM has, in the past, put form over function in some of their truck designs, this is nicely more balanced in the direction of function. While still retaining GM's unique ownership of offering the most customizable, cleanest body in the business.
  6. I want one really bad. A regular cab. With a short bed. I'm sure you're all shocked.

    new jobby job

Congratulations and good luck, loki. I start a new job today.
  8. Well you know I am a big advocate of more bodystyles per nameplate. Verano convertible it is! AND... they both need Ventiports on their hoods. Verano ragtop 3 per side, David, two per side.
  9. The article and the chops are very well-done. I like the idea of the Adam coming over as a Buick, and the Cascada is already very Buick-y. Both would make excellent additions to the lineup.
  10. Neon, you are prime midsize sedan customer material. No worries, mate.
  11. Love that Moby Dick one. And the late model blue Bonneville is a fine candidate for a cosmetic freshening, some Rallye II rims, a buttoned down suspension and brake system, and a healthy Pontiac 400.
  12. Agreed... I wouldn't have a need to put SS trim on it though. I wonder if he has a factory hood?
  13. An RS package a la Cruze, would compete with Fusion SE Sport, Camry SE and Accord's new Sport model. It doesn't have to offer real performance gains in this segment, it just has to project an image of sportiness to satisfy. That is what I want to happen, and what I feel is most likely to happen in production as opposed to an all-out SS. I like the retro style of the new Malibu except for the jutting taillight treatment. I respect the quad Chevy taillamp archetype, but I think it was handled badly here. A 2014 Impala-esque face and less prominent taillights in a quad style would be enough for me as far as styling changes. As far as legroom, I agree with those that say a hollowed out front seat with foot room underneath might be the only solution on this wheelbase. I see nothing wrong with the rest of the interior. It is refreshing to see some distinction on interior design.
  14. It was only the uplevel models that got rectangular headlights in 1980. The lower trim models shared the grille texture (in painted form though), but still had round headlights.
  15. Thanks, bobo. It's been a crappy year. Hoping 2013 is better.
  16. Well, in my first year of ownership I didn't put 10k miles on this Patriot, ended up about 9600 at the year mark. I start a new job at a Hyundai/Mazda/Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram/Buick/GMC dealership bodyshop on Monday. I'll be traveling about 35 minutes each way, M-F. That'll rack up the miles. No issues to report lately. Hopefully this won't kill me in gas expenses.
  17. Electric cars should have no tax breaks involved in their purchase.
  18. My initial impression of this truck is... that it sat outside after it was possibly re-done and now rust is ready to burst out all over. The pictures of the driver's side are washed out too much to see any emerging bubbles, but as dfelt says, huge bubbles are visible over the passenger side rear wheelwell. The only way a New Jersey '79 GMC pickup could be in good shape is if it were Ziebarted or Rusty Jonesed when new and then never driven in winter, had bodywork, or it came from out west and is a transplant. I love the shortbed bodystyle though!
  19. Looks like it's getting closer to production trim. Check out this video. http://youtu.be/Qk6FCcNZe2k
  20. Doesn't it sound like a Power Wheels though? I suppose a rider could get a microphone and make crotch rocket noises vocally to supplement that.
  21. Even if your outlook has turned toward avalon, you're still part of C&G. HB.
  22. You should get one if it suits your purposes.
  23. I think there's going to be a truck debut that day too, GMTG.
