I think it must have been sometime in late 2003 when I first went from lurker to member. Imagine if the post counts had stayed with us through all of C&G's many iterations over the years.

Nick brings up an excellent point, getting into a car that you don't care for from the start is a bad idear. That car will inevitably get treated poorly... I know, I've been there. A Jetta is a nicer car than a Cobalt... they come from different places in the market. My Cobalt has been fine so far, so believe me I am not ragging on it. It's not supposed to compete with a Jetta, AFAIK. I'd stick with the tried and true 2.0/5 speed manual in a Mk III Jetta, though. Better fuel mileage than the sweet running VR6, simpler and cheaper to work on if something DOES go wrong, and you know you love the solid feel of a Volkswagen. I hope my flip-flop on this helps.

Well I'd wait to drive the '10 Mustang instead of settling for an '09. And you'll have to get the R/T 6 speed out of your system before you order your Camaro.

I imagine it is not cheap to work on a VR6.
