  1. Her loss. Come on over and cook up some eggs and sausage for us. Sound good?
  2. I take it the lump doesn't appreciate your culinary talents?
  3. Like me with my Sierra, she loves her Liberty, but laments gas prices. Also, I need to clarify: she has not fixed her a/c, she is deliberating whether to fix that and keep the Jeep or sell it. So she is uncomfortable in the heat while driving. She is unsure if a car will suit her after driving Jeeps for the last 15 years or so, so at least a hatchback is a must for her, if not AWD. Actually I think her favorite of the night was the Astra 5-door with the huge sunroof, followed by the Matrix AWD and the Vibe we found open and test-sat. She finds the CR-V ugly, which warmed my heart. I will continue to steer her away from Toyota as much as I can, but she is stubborn. I told her to make a short list and drive everything on the list, so we'll see if and when she is ready to take the plunge. Thanks for the input, everyone.

  5. A cousin of mine who is like a sister to me called this evening and asked me to go lot hopping with her. She has almost 100k on her Liberty, and the air conditioning compressor has gone bye-bye to the tune of $700, and with gas prices the way they are, she's maybe looking to replace her vehicle. Here's a list of the vehicles we looked at at her behest: Dodge Journey Dodge Caliber Dodge Charger SXT Subaru Forester Toyota Rav4 Toyota Tacoma Toyota Matrix Mazda 3 Nissan Rogue Smrt Cabrio Saturn Astra 5 door Saturn VUE Saturn SKY VW Eos VW Tiguan VW Rabbit Honda CR-V Pontiac Vibe Suzuki SX4 Jeep Liberty Jeep Compass Jeep Patriot Which should she buy?
  6. Those Oregon photos are amazing, haunting, creepy, sad and oh so cool. Wow, just look how nature has painted those poor relics.

    CURSES

Mom is OK, thanks Paulie. She is complaining a bit about her neck, but she'll be fine. She was driving her neighbor to a doctor's appointment when it happened.
  8. Thanks for the comparison shots, DF. In the profile shot, if the background were dark in the production photo like the concept's, I think it would flatter the production car more. Not enough contrast to arrest your eye and keep it on the car, imo. This is one sweet car. I want to see a photo of every color. I wonder what the final production color palette is? The new-for-'09 Aqua Blue on the Colorado and HHR would look great on this, imo. I really like the satin metal trim across the dash and into the door trims... sweeping. I hope there is an interesting selection of interior colors, too, although I'd settle for black.
  9. Yes Harley, they are silly little lights.

    CURSES

So, my mom calls me at work today. Someone rear-ended her in her Cobalt while she was stopped at a red light. I wrote an estimate for $3200+. Dumbass said he reached down for a pen and didn't see her stopped, along with the rest of traffic at the light. Thing is, we fixed the dumbass' Forester less than 6 months ago, when he pulled out in front of someone and ripped the whole side out of it. We will be fixing his car again, as well, but I haven't seen it because the tow company (they knew where the car will be fixed) DROVE DIRECTLY BY our bodyshop to take it to their storage lot, so they can collect storage... UNTIL MONDAY. When I called the tow company and asked them why they drove by us with the car when they knew where it was to be dropped off... they said "sorry, we're closed until Monday". This was at 2:10 this afternoon! Unheard of in the towing business. Man, some ppl have brass balls, I'll tell ya.
  14. I have seen 2 Prius rentals from Enterprise (we use them for our customers who need a rental). And something irks me... NO GREEN "E" STICKER, on either one! I am wondering if "somebody" (like Toyota?) has a policy against rental car agencies putting their mark on these golf carts?
  15. It's hard to tell in the pic if that's a Model A, or a Model A II, which was smaller than the original, was based on the Pinto, and had a 4 cylinder engine standard. The Model A II King Cobra is an especially rare iteration, IIRC.
  16. Yikes, I am not sure about using a wet lubricant for that lock cylinder. Wouldn't powdered graphite have been a better solution? :twocents:
  17. Orange lamps are for Europe, where orange signal lamp lenses are required.
  18. Hot Hot Hot! A great looking car, inside and out. I love the unique interior... and I'm glad it's not "new GM generic", in the trend started by the CTS (which I love, but it seems every subsequent new GM product will copy the CTS interior to a point).
  19. I'm happy to hear things are going well for you and Kim, cappy. Nice truck, sir.

    Whoa...

    Serious? Wha happun?
  21. Reading Bob Lutz' statement about Pontiac is a great relief to me.
  22. The Cruze looks very good in the pictures. Dag, are those 20" rims?

    Whoa...

Daggone, I overslept. OK, what have I missed? AHEM... COMCAST SUUUUCKS!!!!! I have been stranded without internet or television since... last Thursday. I missed you guys.
  24. Toyota vs. GM... can you tell us if the Pontiac version of the Cruze will be more differentiated than the current G5 is from the Cobalt? I really hope so. A coupe and sedan G5 with Pontiac styling in and out would be sweet. EDIT: I do dig that interior, with the swath of blue across the door trim and dash. However, it is very familiar "new GM generic" already.
