  1. I'd say go for it. If it has been modified to sit on an S-10 chassis, I'd try to find another, non-rotted S-10 chassis to perch it on. It would give you modern, cheap steering and suspension components that are easily upgraded through the aftermarket and swapped around. Also, I am not sure if this would fit with your intended finished product, but a small, low-sided wooden pickup bed just entered my brain, finished in a way that it appears to have been on there for 50 years, maybe with a logo incorporating something from each of you guys as owners, like "SixtypenguinXP Hauling" or some such.

    Relief.

Mr. Jacket, I hope you have a good weekend.
  3. Love his artwork, always have. It transports me to a different place, and makes me want to drive a Pontiac to get there.
  4. A little good-natured ribbing never hurt anyone. Some ppl need to laugh at themselves.
  5. Flame surfacing seems to have been all but extinguished on this one. I like the shoulder line and the way the door handles are incorporated into it. What strikes me as a shame is... the Bangled cars were a distraction from BMW design purity. During the Bangled years, Lexus cribbed BMW's previous, longstanding design language for the LS. Now that BMW returns to her roots with this car... suddenly it could be seen as a crib of Lexus, even though it really isn't.
  6. What's doubly weird about the Corsica/Tempest thing is, in the US Corsica's later years, it had the ribbed, Pontiac-style taillights used on the Canadian Tempest! I always found it so odd, I mean, ribbed tails were a clear Pontiac trait for so many years... a really transparent, cost-cutting move by GM.
  7. Thanksgiving
  8. Shut up!
  9. Carbiz, I think Borger wants to look at your "attachment". Shall we leave you two boys alone here in this thread? I support the idear of a Pontiac-ized Beat. It's snazzy. The Montana should not in a million years be called "El Camino". I support the idear of it being sold here, though, as long as it has a suitably updated front clip, interior, and decent powertrains for US consumption.
  10. And that's just for taunting us about Pontiac. :AH-HA_wink:
  11. Well not until you pointed it out. :AH-HA_wink:
  12. He likes posting Pontiacs that were Chevy clones. He's mocking us. He has ulterior motives. I suspect we'll see the US version of the Parisienne next.
  13. Happy Birthday, all you C&G stalwarts!
  14. "I guess to each his own..." a very pertinent statement. Variety has been a GM strong suit forever, and it needs to remain that way. Malibu, G6 and Invicta, a trifecta of midsize GM cars, each with their own market focus. Maintain, GM! Malibu as the value-oriented, entry midsize with conservative yet handsome style. G6 with extra spice and romance, for the rebels. And Invicta, with elegant entry luxury as its mission. Focus your brands, and make sure the buying public knows each brand's mission, and you're set. Seems so easy.
  15. I'm glad to see a core brand like Pontiac represented when they considered a Kappa car, instead of a failed brand, like Saturn. Good to see Cobalt SS at the top.

  17. Good to hear from you, sNosage.
  18. Yeah, they're sticking stupid Saturn into Oldsmobile's spot in the lineup... and that just ain't workin'. Those are some nice lookin' B-bodies in that picture.

    Pictures!

Nos, all that tongue action with your sister could be illegal in some states.
  20. From the outside, it looks richer than an Astra 5-door. Very crisp. I cannot wait to see the coupe version. I didn't see any interior pictures at Autoblog, but the Koup concept's interior looked very close to production, and it was very nice. If this pans out in reality as good as it looks in photos, I might steer my mom toward one of these and out of her Cobalt, which she never liked anyway. The turbo coupe, if it is priced reasonably, might just undercut the excellent Cobalt SS Turbo. Well done, Kia.

    Pictures!

You know those little black fuzzy spiders that are kind of aggressive when you follow them with your finger, they turn and act like they're gonna attack? The ones with the crazy little array of eyes? That Tiburon reminds me of one of those, with those headlights, etc. To be honest, it kind of creeps me out a tad. Cute cousin though. And Viper, so that's what you look like? I never would have guessed. Thanks for letting us know that's actually a picture of yourself. KIDDING! (Just trying to make you crack a smile.)
  23. You look good for your age. I was going to guess 120ish.
  24. Mr. cruiser, you have a lot of warranty left. Sometimes a new car has noises that settle themselves, without interference (and disassembly of the area to check for the source of the noise). I'd recommend letting the sunroof issue ride for a month or two, if it doesn't settle itself, then you can mention it to your service department and have it looked at. Just about every new vehicle I've purchased has had some sort of disconcerting noise at first, but they all went away on their own. I hate noises and rattles in a new vehicle, so I feel your slight twinge of pain.
