  1. Uh, in the second ad, did they say "Chevoray" at the end?
  2. Uh... pardon moi, but which Achieva model is fast? If it has no structural rust and a sound drivetrain, what are the real bad points for $500? These pics have reminded me, this little car has an interesting, horizontal styling motif. It's really not bad looking.
  3. Not a bad thought, imo. Besides some sort of economy advantage, it might make the car appeal to a broader audience. Let me put it this way: this engine is now much more attractive to me with this beautiful car wrapped around it. It will sound funny, though, in a car like this. I am not happy to hear GM hinting at a price higher than Mustang, however. This just seems like somebody trying to "de-emphasize" this car, like they're trying to make it less attractive by slapping a higher price tag on it. Troubling news.
  4. I love driving a manual transmission, but I really like this Challenger SE for the overall package. Hmmm...
  5. I intend to pay cash for my next new car, too. Of course, it will be a Hot Wheels. Don't tell anyone. Signed, Hyacinth Bucket. :AH-HA_wink:
  6. In one of the articles I read, someone said no to the SKY targa due to some difference in the decklid between it and the Solstice. I am glad there is no SKY targa. It's about time GM gave Pontiac some love.
  7. Worthwhile improvements structurally and mechanically, but Good Lord, that new dash looks like someone took a hefty bag full of dash parts and just dumped it out in there... not as nice as the current dash, imo. My Sierra dash has a tiny sprinkling of silver painted plastic trim, but that huge area on this Fit, the center bezel/upper glovebox door looks bad. It does promise to be more fun-to-drive than the current car, with all that new hardware.
  8. Autoweek has a gallery up of the full line of Dodge Challengers. Here's a link to a pic of a blue V6 Challenger. Not bad atall, imo. My only problem is, no manual transmission with the 3.5L V6.

  10. That's a good idear, Nick.
  11. This is Pontiac. The purest, cleanest, sexiest, most romantic, athletic and perfect expression of Pontiac styling in decades. Beautiful. For a weekend trip, slip off the hardtop and leave it in the garage, attach the soft top. Drop off your suitcase at the hotel, stow the soft top in the load area, and you're ready to cruise. Very complete package. I. want. one. I think I might stay home from work today and just stare at these pictures.
  12. All this means to me is that GM will have less money to spend here in the USA, where I live, to bring more great new products to market. Not happy news.
  13. Certainly a jar to the senses when I first looked at it, but it's growing on me already. It is distinctive. I too love the coke bottle sides. The grille sort of reminds me of a Scion tC. Overall, it certainly has emerged from the shadow of the smaller Altima, which is a good thing, and I love the little "4DSC" sticker's return.
  14. Ditto what balthy said. The sweepspear makes a triumphant return! A very promising sketch.
  15. Spitfire
  16. What a crock of $h!.
  17. Cool the "Value Pack" and reg, bite yo tongue, mister! no tundra anywhere near my garage.
  18. I prefer the more refined Pig-in-a-Blanket.
  19. Viper, as for the Cobalt coupe, the roofline is an evolution of the '88+ Cavalier, and it could even be seen as a continuation of the old H-body Monza hatchback theme, with its triangular quarter glass. The sedan has a "friendly" Chevrolet demeanor that is recognizable, again, an evolution of the J-body themes. The H-body Monza and the later J-body and Delta Chevrolets also share some characteristics with European GM small cars. Look up some pictures of old Vauxhall Cavaliers and certain Opels. Look at the shape of the A-pillar and upper door frames on the Astra and the Cobalt/G5. They're all related and distinctively GM, nothing generic there.
  20. There has been a Waffle House in Lancaster for years and years. Several months ago, there was a "domestic disturbance" there involving drunken, naked patrons, locking themselves in the bathroom, physically fighting in the dining room, etc. I don't go there. 24-hour eating places are a special breed, because they take the spillover after the bars close.

  22. That interior looks great. Ahh... the sweetness of affordable RWD. Love to see that smoke coming off the real, I mean rear tires.
  23. Well the Asstra starts about $4000 higher than the Cobalt. The Cobalt is a traditional Detroit small car (a perfectly fine example, imo), the Asstra, an experiment on these shores. My current, recurring Cobalt is a 2LT 5 speed coupe with chrome package, Pioneer stereo, and leather wheel, $17,080. It comes with ABS and head curtains, plus it has a more emotional design than the Astra, which, although it's a hatch, has a pretty small cargo area, imo. Yes, both cars are getting old. Let's see what's coming on Delta II.
  24. Landau top: $298 301 4bbl V8: $60. Love the car. A Sweet cruiser for sure. Pontiac holds a special place in my heart.
