  1. Maybe she'll get smart and rebel soon.
  2. Partsgirl, imagine the fun to come for you at work. GMNA is set to get many more cars just like the Opel Omega, whoops, I mean Cadillac Caterable. Yaaaay!

"My" new Smart Passion: $14,620. White/black with tan interior, premium sound system, foglamps, power steering, clock and tachometer. Can "comical" also be "smart"? I saw my second Smart locally on the street yesterday, yellow with black frame, driven by an uber-nerdy guy with glasses. What's going on here? Is it hip to be square?
  4. They look like French cars. The top one has the Renault symbol on the hood, and the bottom one looks like it could be a Peugeot. Love that Cien.
  5. *grabs flamethrower* *darn, it petered out* While I prefer the HHR if you're going for a fun small family car, the new Vibe is pretty nice, too. Let us know how it works out.
  6. Seems like there's a worm in this thread, and it's not computer-related.

  8. Yeah they're going to have to flesh out the line if they expect to make a splash with this thing. So far it's like ho-hum, "nice" is as far as I am willing to go in my praise.
  9. Derek, that roof rack seems soooo perfectly Australian. I wouldn't have one, but I love it.
  10. This car is in a much better position than the GTO was, with a real trunk, four doors and the 3.6L option. I hope it does well.
  11. I saw the first review at Gaywheels.com, now they're everywhere, I read them all, and they are all positive, although one review carped a bit about torque steer, saying a RWD chassis would have been more fun. There's a nice big gallery of the car in different colors, out on a road course, I believe it was at the Motor Trend site. I was drooling over the dark blue one with the normal spoiler. Yes, chevrolet.com has the car in their "upcoming vehicles" list now, too. It's a winner, imo. Mine would have to be Imperial Blue/Ebony with LSD and bodyside moldings, that's it, no sunroof, no silly wing. I've even gone so far as thinking of removing the spoiler altogether, as I prefer the long, low look of a spoilerless deck... the ground effects pull the car down so tight to the road, it would look sleek as hell with no spoiler. You can believe I will be "building my own" asap, and looking into it closer. I am glad to see GM seriously continuing development of this car, they've done a great job, as far as I can tell. And with 23/30 mpg ratings combined with the possibility of 5.7 seconds 0-60 and a 14.7 sec 1/4 mile, WOW!

I saw him for the first time today since his operation. His arm's in a sling and he says the pain is "bearable" now. He liked the brochures.

I think I was just mad because my plan was foiled.
  14. Ha! Cool. He wants to have it at a strip joint in Reading, PA, but he's afraid a lot of his friends may not want to go, for religious reasons. I don't know how it's going to end up.
  15. Post pictures of your Avenger when you get it, Raven.

The Chevy dealer I went to is my former employer (the salesguys are different from then), and my friend is still an employee there. I did not want to mention that last bit of info to them. I just think it's a shame. Thanks for the offer, Kaycee, I appreciate it. But I guess I'll just give him what I was able to get. Thanks for the tips, all. "NEW GM Headquarters" in Zurich? Oh no, Borger, I hope you don't mean "WORLD" headquarters. And if you're sick, I can offer sympathy, but I can't bring you chicken soup, the truck doesn't have pontoon tires. However, I can whip you up some throat yogurt.
  19. Borger did you post that comment?
  20. Kaycee... I don't know what to say. I'm just sorry to hear your kids have lost their mother.

I have a friend who had surgery on his shoulder recently. He won't be able to work for 8 weeks while he recuperates. This week, he's supposed to do as little as possible, so I got an idear to get him some reading material to help him pass the time. He's pretty heavy into sport compact cars. Real hot ones, not 25hp Type-R sticker hot, but turbo AWD hot. We have a little back-and-forth at times between the Corvette and the sport compacts. Anyway, I stopped at the VW dealership seeking a brochure on the R32, telling the attendant my story of a friend with nothing to do but recuperate. They were very nice, but told me no brochure was available for the R32. They gave me a VW Motorsports calendar and wished me well. Next, I stopped at the Mitsubishi dealership. The young lady salesperson was charmed by my story, and presented me with an Evo X brochure, telling me I am a good friend. Then she offered me a balloon to take to him. I politely declined the balloon as over-the-top, thanked her and walked next door to the Subaru store. Once again, with my story, the salesguy went in the back and came out with WRX and STi brochures, telling me the STi brochure was very rare, and could be successfully put up on Ebay, if my friend were so inclined. Next, I went over to the local Chevrolet dealership. My plan was to give him the Mitsu and Subie brochures, then sneak a Corvette brochure in at the bottom of the stack to make him laugh (and hopefully educate him a bit). I went in with my story, requested the brochure, and two salesguys chimed in together as their vulture-like grins fell. "Oh, I don't think so. Those brochures cost the dealership $75 apiece. We don't give those out frivolously. You can have any other brochure we have. How about on a truck or something? Sorry." I was like "yes, I'm sure", walked out and took off in my Sierra. What a bunch of assholes, I mean really. So, I guess I will call my friend tomorrow to tell him I have something for him. The impact of my plan has been blunted by those killjoys at the Chevy store, but I'm sure he'll enjoy what I was able to get, at least.
  22. Very true. There is enough loyalty to a given GM brand that eliminating any of them would be devastating. Oldsmobile was the model. GM, focus your brands and your critics will fall silent.

    Boys Beware!

*checking garage* Whew, I thought the Sierra got stolen away to U-rope by a blind stalker for a sec, but it's snuggled safely in its room downstairs.
