  10. reg, dearheart, spanking fantasies aside, check the same ad... look how good the G6 GXP looks in that dramaticized depiction. It's kind of a modern-day expression of the gorgeous Pontiac ads from the 60s, with the exaggerated wiiidetrack paintings representing the cars. It's an excellent ad, all the cars look good in it. As I've said many times before in my criticisms of the G8, I wish the car well in the marketplace, I just think it was a missed opportunity for GM to give Pontiac a truly visually exciting flagship product with styling cues worthy of handing down to less expensive models in the lineup. If you want to be brought back to Earth after your orgasmic reaction to the ad and subsequent thoughts of me in a compromising position across your knee, check out the -looking white Holden in the "Holden Slashes Prices" thread. That should make it point south again.
  11. When I worked at the GM dealership in Maryland, we would periodically get Middle Eastern guys sniffing around, asking about random Caprices to buy and ship off to their country. Very odd, we had to chase them off every time they showed up. Reading your account reminds me of something like that, although the G bodies weren't exported over there that I know of, it still sounds like a "scout" making inquiries for some entity collecting G-bodies to resell.

Oldsmoboi is right, of course, about what he says. I guess I take for granted you need to change the transmission filter when you drop the pan to change the fluid. Get yourself a filter and pan gasket kit, of course. This kind of stuff can be very satisfying to do yourself, if you have the right tools. Do you have a set of ramps?
  22. ooo, nice Toro. I am so glad you didn't paint the cream-colored one.

Viper, if you re-read my posts from back then, you'll see I said it would be easier to fix if something happens than the Grand Am or Millenia. It would have been a good idea to change the transmission fluid before you put it on the road to start with, as a preventative maintenance thing. And it is a lot easier to fix a carburetor with issues than a fuel-injected car. Please just be patient, get your dad to help you work through these seemingly minor issues, and keep on riding. Check that thermostat, like Equinox said, and also... it can only help to do a complete tune-up, with plugs, wires, distributor parts, a fuel filter, etc. I mean, you told us the car sat for a good while before you found it.
  24. That's cool when she pulls up next to the hotties holding hands in the Bimmer, then floors it when the light turns green. Go Caddy!
