He gave it to me. He also bought new the 1981 Grand Prix for me. The rest of the vehicles on my list were bought new by me except of course for the two mid-60's Chevies, which were toys, not daily drivers.
  3. Shoot, all Mika is doing is continuing an ancient rock music tradition: ambiguity. He sounds a bit like Freddie Mercury, which is not a bad thing, imo, as he was one of the best rock singers ever.
  4. Ooohhhh, ok. :AH-HA_wink:
  5. Well, the new '08 twin-spark version makes acceptable power, imo.
  6. That's hot.
  7. How do I put this in a polite way? It looks like it has plenty of "enhanced suspension travel" to deal with less-than-perfect Brazilian country roads.
  8. The 4.7L is a piece of junk? I didn't know that. I knew about the 2.7L V6 problems.
  9. Mister Detroit Metal: that is spectacularly beautiful.
  10. Fingers crossed here, Walt, that you have a permanent solution to your sunroof woes. Now GM needs to put a "stop sale" message out to dealers on cars equipped with this roof until all the unsold cars in inventory are taken care of. And of course all cars in owners' hands that are problem-prone need to have the same treatment. I'd like to see the TSB list on this roof.
  11. Yes, camo is on the car, but it cannot hide the sexy proportions. Once again, I wish it were a $22k-$33k price range car, for its own good. 4.0 V6, 4.7L HO, 5.7 and 6.1L Hemis would make a nice healthy powertrain lineup, with 6 speed manual and 5 speed auto transmissions... and a convertible to round it all out.

    Cool rendering

It's got its own style and it is attractive. This is the kind of thing more American cars need, truly appealing, nationalistic looks. Very nice.
  13. On used vehicles they have those white stickers, "warranty/as is", you know the ones. I was at the BPG dealership Thursday morning getting an earl change and tire rotation before heading upstate, and I noticed the dealer-issued sticker on a beautiful Ocean Mist/gray leather Enclave the vehicle description: "2007 Rendezvous". I was like WTF?
  14. The Alero and Grand Am share doors, but not rear quarter panels. When you take the cladding off the door, you'll have that cove that you see on the Alero. The quarter panel on the Grand Am has just a flat area under the cladding, so with the cladding off, it will look mismatched to the door.
  15. I took off Thursday to go camping, and got back this afternoon. On Thursday here, it was hot and humid until I backed out of the garage, when it started pouring its butt off, and it rained hard all the way to the Lehigh Tunnel (gateway to the Pocono Mountains). On the other side of the tunnel it was just cloudy. Lucky for me, but I just got my campsite all set up when it started raining there. Friday was cold as heck and drizzly (low 60's for highs, mid 50's overnight, brrr...), I was in the tent for a good part of the day, bored, but then yesterday and today were glorious, low humidity, sunny days... perfect. Looks like more typical mid-August heat coming for this week, though, here.
  16. To all who read this: please disregard this thread. Delaware is still closed.
  17. I just have to say, those pictures of St. Croix are arm-breakingly beautiful. :AH-HA_wink:
  18. It cut a fine figure pulling up to that barn door, sir. Glad the torture was over quickly. Chevy dealership I used to work for has one on their used car lot, in that blue/gray color similar to my truck, an '04. I hopped out to give it a look. Paint overspray on all the door rubbers... somebody wrecked it and the bodyshop that fixed it didn't even care enough to remove the rubber parts for painting.
  19. The trip has another name, too: it was a Fly-by by Fly.
  20. Thanks for the insight, ejspecial. Please tell us more.
  21. Hot little mama, indeed.
  22. Montclair
  23. Ha, I guess that's right. I was looking for the "sweet spot" while wiggling that shifter. Hence the happy grin, I guess.
  24. Hello just leave the t-tops off all the time. :AH-HA_wink:
  25. ...and you're still mad. :AH-HA_wink: You know what, if I were buying any used car, especially a sports car, I'd check it for questionable body repairs. Look inside the door jambs, look at the front aprons, anywhere you can think of for anything that seems obvious, or suspicious. Yes, quality repairs can be made, but there are some chop shops left out there, and so many F-bodies and Mustangs have been in accidents...
