  1. The new front end has more traits of the previous generation GC, which I still like better than this one. The changes are a positive step, imo, and I'd like to see the interior. The diesel and stronger, more efficient 4.7L are both good moves.

MARIO! You were fooling us? Oh man, you had me hook, line and sinker!
  3. I test drove an ION with CVT before I ordered my Quad Coupe. It felt very weird. No wonder Ford is going to the 6 speed in the Taurus and letting the CVT fall by the wayside. The Nissan CVT has not won any fans in the automotive press from an enthusiast's standpoint... just check all the moaning about it in reviews of the new Sentra SE-R.
  4. Dodge Avenger R/T with spoiler delete, bright blue with two tone gray leather and sunroof.

This is bad news, Mario. Thanks for giving us this exclusive development here at C&G.
  6. Loose translation for those of us who are not language snobs based on my faulty memory of high school French: "That's good! Good luck with it. I rented a Grand Prix when I was tricking for crack in Las Vegas. In the next year or so, I want to get a Lacrosse or Grand Prix. Not sure which. But I will get the basic version. If I get a Grand Prix, it will be white with black cloth interior. What color did you choose for your Grand Prix? May I have a date with you? Photos please, as soon as possible!" Well how'd I do? :AH-HA_wink:
  7. Come to think of it, that does seem unprofessional, Walt. Perhaps some kind of "helper spring" or self-leveler that kicks in automatically when the top is lowered... hmmm... Although I'd never buy one anyway, it seems a shame that the hardtop is standard with the bigger engine... I'd like to see the canvas top remain available on the top trim level.
  8. Cool, I didn't realize those bumpers were made up of a face bar and a reinforcement. I don't think I've ever seen one apart.
  9. Let's go drag racing!

  11. Cool, Custom-S. Can't wait to see the photos. While the latest Impala SS is buttoned-down in its sportiness (it fits the brand and looks ok), the GP screams "PONTIAC" without resorting to a lot of extraneous gingerbread... it has curves, an essential part of Pontiac's sexiest cars for decades. Best of luck with it, sir.
  12. Look at all that distinctiveness (except for a few of the Canadian cars). Thanks for reminding us, Custom-S, of Pontiac's intrinsic style... lacking in the newest... G8.
  13. It looks good from that angle in the photo. I prefer the looks of this new version as a soft top... the hardtop with the top up has that "dorky, upright, based-on-an-SUV feel" of its sedan counterpart... sorry.
  14. Local dealership here has a crispy white one with chrome rims, and a medium blue one with machined aluminum rims. They don't look too bad from the road. I may go lot cruising sometime today and check them out. Something about this car reminds me of the Dart from the late 60's-70's... not particularly flashy, but stoic and intrepid... long lasting but unassuming. A good car for people who want something quietly distinctive without being flashy. come to think of it, the Shadow and Spirit were also of this ilk. There is a market for this type of car, it's honest. And the "stacked boxes" interior? It's also not a new phenom at Chrysler... look inside a K-car, or a Shadow, or even an early minivan... this will be familiar to Chrysler's stalwart fans. And thank God they didn't saddle it with a CVT. CVT is just a bad idea that's been tried for what, 15 years from different manufacturers... I remember the old Subaru Justy had an available CVT...
  15. The "check engine" or "service engine soon" light is only for emissions control problems... it does not come on for anything else. The loose gas cap, open exhaust system, and cracked fuel hose, et al, are all emissions control issues. Don't worry about your engine if you see this light come on... unless it flashes.
  16. My eyes might be bad, but the robin appears to be just a tad out of focus. The house picture is cool, you were able to get a shot with the buds basically framing it. The two guys standing with arms folded looking at the tractor is kinda neat, but who let that Datsun pickup in your driveway? And the lawn ornament with the crooked exhaust, I just realized something... is it supposed to say "Pontiac Grand Am" across the decklid in green letters?
  17. I'm interested, but I need to know how much air is in the right front tire. Could you get back to me on that?
  18. Hmmm... a Power Stroke? You might have to go pick him up along the road somewhere. He should be easy to spot. :AH-HA_wink: Hey, what's the bar at the back of the bed for?
  19. Aurora or Riviera for me. Good luck in the search.

    Been Thinking...

'69 Birds are sweet honeys, Mr. Jacket. Good luck, sir.
  22. Happy B-day, Mr. Ca R. Biz!
  23. Well Sixty4, I guess I'll have to get used to calling you Fifty9 soon. Glad you like your new job, sir.
  24. I'd love to see this happen. With any luck, it would bury the Prius.
  25. Always take it off, clutters up the vehicle. Plus, I found out that the owner of my workplace hates the owner of the GMC dealership, so there was a bit of self-preservation at work. When I ordered my Sierra, I asked the salesdude not to let them put their sticker on... the cleanup kid did it anyway, so I had them remove it before I took it off the lot.
