Good thing Mazda got the new improved version of the old car out just in time....ey ? Well Im was glad to see that there were plenty of items for this guy to pick away at. It surely would have been a waste of his time had he drove it and not had bits and pieces to harp on. Sounds like its a dangerous car to drive, losing its composure and all. I do, as usual, have concerns about the weight, Gm needs to get its weight down, weight = performance. 2800 for a little 2 seater is crazy. As for the top it sounds like GM put more work into the boot. They probably could have made a cheap little throw back......but they didnt !
-- including as much as $55 an hour for clerical help to input computer data.... data processors at one firm, Kurtzman Carson Consultants, are earning up to $55 an hour

The fees range from $835 an hour for the senior attorney at Delphi's lead law firm

proposed $15 million payout to an investment banking firm

Delphi's proposed executive compensation plan that potentially would reward its senior management with bonuses and stock worth more than $500 million.
So its obvious to me that Delphis employees were underpaid according to Americas work place market.
According to court documents, Delphi has engaged five separate law firms to represent it in the Chapter 11 process.... :o

Its lead counsel, the New York firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, was paid $9.85 million in legal fees before Delphi even filed for Chapter 11 on Oct. 8. Since then, it has been billing Delphi at rates beginning at $585 an hour, and topping out at $835 an hour for lead lawyer Jack Butler. Butler also was the lead attorney in Kmart Corp.'s 2002 bankruptcy. Kmart paid $138 million for bankruptcy attorneys and advisers, including $58 million to Skadden Arps. Enron Corp. spent more than half a billion dollars on bankruptcy lawyers and accountants.
:o  :o  :o
"The judge has almost complete discretion to decide which professionals firms are retained and what they're paid," said Barbara Rom, a bankruptcy specialist with the Detroit law firm of Pepper Hamilton.
Off course Barbara Rom "bankrupcy specialist", the judge is on your side, have no fear, ya'll gonna make out real sweet on this deal. Not that one in your profession needs to look far and wide to make ends meet. What a friggin joke. Hey, we all know the lawyers are the ones that make out on divorce, why would this be any different. I dont see the problem really. This is just away to line some fatboys and fatgirls hollowed halls before the inevitable. The company has no money. It cant pay its bills or payroll, close the doors, shut off the faucet and let the chips fall where they may. Perhaps then America can finally get a look at the real picture and make some changes, rather than just slowly trickle dry.

So long as our market continues to be flooded with cars from Japanese and Korean companies..........who cares ? All is peachy in the good ol US of A

So "global economics" is putting our wages in the dumpster, Im pissed off about it and therefore am braying like an ass ? OK, must be because ? everything is fine and dandy at your house ? I dont know what it is nobody seems to understand about this. Nothing produced in America or N America I should say can compete in this so called "global economy". Our cost of living is way to high and everyone not effected by it is smugly sitting and saying to bad suckers, you now have to compete with 3rd world wages. You know step back in time 50 years, while real estate, insurance, regulations, healthcare, school and property taxes, building materials, ect. ect. have in the past 5 years jumped forward a few decades in inflation. So you say Im an ass ? for what? pointing this out and saying bullshit ? OK fine, ass away I have hopes that N. American GM and Ford can survive this and continue to employ real Americans at decent standards of living but I feel the truth is we are just going to continue to watch a slow economic death of this part of our socioty as we lower ourselfs to 3rd world standards to please the know it alls. Its a real global economy alright, we are the ones spending the money, the rest of the world collects it.

Yea, I guess I do like this first model, quite a bit actually. I just wish I could figure out how it excaped me ? I knew about Bricklin, Detomaso, what Delorean was up to, Boxer, 930 turbo, 917, Maserati Bora & Merak, Lambroghini Miura & Countach but this Vector didnt even ring any bells. Maybe it was dead news in late 70's early 80's ? or I just happened to miss any issues that had word of the car. Oh well, that first body is kinda nice, far superior in styling to the Brick or Snowmachine. The second one reeks of to many rocker panel holes. Dont like the way the nose comes together either.

change the earl ? what ya have to go and do dat fer ?

WTF is the point of this ? Do you not think we here at the Oldsmobile portion of this site have had more than our share of this bullshit ? We had it shoved in our face, down our throats and someone still wants to give it more ?

Sometimes customers get angry over legitimate stuff and take a screwing anyhow. If this was one of my excellent non replaceable cars I would be very hot. If it was my Saab I would just get their insurance money. This stuff actually happens, My friend had his truck box mangled by slipping on one of these lifts. These mechanics need to make sure they have those pads where they are supposed to be not "close enough". Bend over and look you lazy have wrenches will travel. I dont let anybody work on my stuff, nothing, none of it. Stuff like alignments or tire changes I stay right by my car.

All these butt heads, the economists, stock traders, government and corporate decision makers knew they were going to throw the working class in this country into turmoil with their global bullshit They want us all to know everything will be alright as soon as the rest of the world raises to our (former) standards, 6 generations or so from now. Behold the heads of the traitors

I approach my cars like Bruce Lee, leaping, flipping and spinning from corner to corner. During these flips I have ample oppertunity to check both inside and underneath of the vehical.

Well one doesnt need to spend much time at a board to know what to expect out of someone in givin situations. Like 6T8 being pissed over someone pounding on an old Caddy Then one would not be surprised to see croc jump on the chance to make large of it Then it seems Bri always gets in the middle of these and cant understand the point of both sides and theres never any doubt I will poke my face into the middle of it either.......ey ? OK everybody, I get it, I get it ! I think Monster Jams should be nothing but Asian cars, I think Monster jams should be held regularly, in all towns throught the US. I think these Asian cars should be free for the taking as charity for these great Monster Jam weekly events. This would promote more localized industries for recycling the precious metals to supply the increased demand of N.American built cars. You know, Caddys and Buicks and such :CG_all: :D

4.6 million per year ? how will he ever survive on that ? Sure makes that million he put down on stock seem like buying a lottery ticket........no ? 4.6 million is nothing compared to the billions lost on the Fiat deal..........glad to see hes being well compensated for giving it "his best". reduced employment opertunities by over 50%, Well I guess thats a real great contribution to socioty, surely worthy of a annual pension far exceeding the average Americans lifetime gross ? Well I suppose he has a few huge estates to manage, I hope he can get by It amazes me whats legal and whats illegal in this country Behold the head of a traitor !

I never heard of them either. The 80's and early 90's were years I was worried about more heavier chunks of iron, so I did miss quite a few things in the auto world. The Lamborghini insect styling is not amounst my favorite, but this is kinda nice to learn anyhow. If someone is going to build this kind of car they need to hand build them, just as the European sports car builders did it. You can't go spending all your money on factory equipment to only produce 10-15 cars a year. Im sure safety and emission "regulations" combined with the money sucking insurance industry destroys this industry just as it does almost any startup industry in the US. Dont worry though they got their share of the money !

Well this works out good this way, someone will always find something to whine about. The Jap motors are more high tuned and GM engines are very modestly tuned. 10 15 20 hp is nothing. Jap cars have higher final drive ratios, GM's have desert gears. potato, potato most drivers rarely use more than 100. I just hang my head in shame everytime Im sitting at a stop light and know that ricer next to me has 12.8795201 more hp than me. :( Incidently GM had been leading the V6 game with the Buick engine right up until recently, but whine away, whine away This grandpa wants to race :D

Well being how everytime someone wants to bash GM for poor cars the Cavalier, Malibu, Impala, Monty Carlo seem to be the cars that are thrown in our faces. Then being how everyones mad because Chevy doesnt have a Camaro I say........ screw em, chop Chevy and saturin, then Buick will have more than enough R&D funding. Just kiddin Chevy, but I am getting tired of having those lowly cars thrown in my face. Just get saturin out of the way and everything will be fine again. saturin and their dealerships have failed, they need to be axed, no excuses. Saab in Europe is a good thing, its also a good outlet. Say what you want about Saab but I have never heard anyone say they were junk. In fact I was always of the understanding that they were excellent cars. No body knows what saturin is, saturin has nothing going on. Everyone and anybody will always say how near impossible it is today to start a new car company, yet GM feels the need to pursue this boondoggle while everything else is going down the drain.

Corvette Z06 plasters modified 465 rwhp cobra
razoredge replied to Mike The Canadian's topic in Chevrolet
Well I figured GM raised the bar on the C5 Z06, now we have the C6 ZO6. and they both are smoked by the C6-R GM's got the stuff, one just needs to know where to look -

G6 is too heavy, Im sure a SCX would run all over one, due to weight and resistance alone. The Ecotec is a better designed engine than Quad 4, correct ? Wheres Pontiacs small 4 passenger car ? does anything weigh under 3000 in this segment anymore ? -
I was into country in the mid 90's when all the rock quitarists forgot how to play the guitar or at least aimed to prove it didnt matter if you knew how but was more important as to how close to your knees you could hang it along with your pants and jump up every 10 seconds like you were on a pogo stick. Anyhow  When I listened to country everything was right in my life. Now I cant because it reminds me of what I need to forget. The truely great country lyrics are some of the best storys or clever little phrases, not cheezy by any means, such as lets say......rap. Music treatment is quite mature as well, less is more, every little piece can be heard its not all lost in some puddle of mud, plus the musicians are actually talented. that song John Micheal Montgomery (if I have that correct) did about the girl he saw at the auction, I though was extremely cleverly creative. Its still one of my favorites

Yep, 22R was a rock solid engine (mostly) but around here you were good for 50 mph and dropping in a 4wd in 4th and would be shifting into 3rd near the top. My V6 Dakota was so much nicer on the road, I eventually parked my Notoy. The Notoy was quite a little bear, very hard worked truck. 264,000 miles at much earlier retirement than necesssary. I know you all dont need to hear about me and the 38 yet again so forget about that one. B)

Should Pontiac make a 4-cylinder G6 Coupe?
razoredge replied to ToniCipriani's topic in Heritage Marques
Didnt read much of this guys. I say the question is < should the Cobalt bodystyle be the only offering in this high volumn low price market ? > < is this utilizing a plant to its fullest effeciency ? > forget the G6 in this scenerio, I cant imagine a car that heavy with a 2.4 I4, but if they want them, they can have them.
