  1. I could go for a high-compression,naturally-aspirated V8.
  2. Tell him to drive it.
  3. A direct effect of two things, farm subsidies keeping the yield down amd a temporary spike in the price of gasoline. We have the capacity to grow enormous amounts of corn. It will settle to a reasonable level if foolishness like the pipeline idea doesn't intefere.
  4. Even corn ethanol makes sense, if used locally. Not an ideal feedstock, but ok in the cornbelt. BTW: The idea that it drove-up food prices was all BS - we pay farmers NOT to grow corn in this country! But the pipeline idea has Pork Barrel written all over it.
  5. My hopes for ethanol don't include pipelines. I'd much rather see lots of small, local, trash-to-fuel plants supplying their own areas.
  6. We'll have to agree to disagree, Balthazar. I find the car to be thoroughly disappointing.
  7. I was wondering what effect it would have on you, given time. I'm due for another "test drive", I think...
  8. Just thought I'd repeat myself by quoting (easier than typing all that again). I'd like to add one though: - It treads on Buick's turf.
  9. Gravel, dirt, disappearing hardware, cold, lack of light... Yup. Been there. Not fun. I love my barn, but it still needs more light and heat...
  10. Those would look sooooo good on the wagon...
  11. Nice work! Glad to see you back around here.
  12. I would love to see whatever stillborn designs they worked on for a zeta Caddy. I keep getting a nagging feeling that they have something stashed-away somewhere...
  13. Let me distill my objections to the car down to basics: - Its EPII underpinnings trash the proportions - It was touted as a flagship, but clearly isn't. - It was touted as being inspired by the Sixteen, to which it bears no resemblence. - The footwell intrusion is inexcusable, especially in a car of this size. - It was intended to replace not one, but two, exisitng cars - it replaces one. - It does nothing to move the brand forward beyond its current template. Still rates a 5 out of 10 in my book.
  14. Got it. I have a few ideas.
  15. Hmm, Let me know if the deal goes through. I may be able to help. No promises.
  16. The Registry Rundown that Variance used to do. Checking for trademarks being registered by the automakers. Made for great insight into what they might be considering.
  17. We used to get some nice tidbits from it, and I miss it.
  18. Although things have changed dramatically since I posted this topic, I think it is worth reviewing in light of recent rumblings at GM.
  19. The program was just approved, there is nothing to take spy shots of yet.
  20. Yup. It would seem that GM will insist on building this car, but I feel certain that it will be the last FWD luxo-barge Cadillac ever offers.
  21. People are such lemmings.
  22. Boylan's
  23. Interesting. I'm fan of good Birch Beer myself.
