  1. yes Immigration is what created the US, and although managing it has always been problematic, it remains essential to what the US is. No, that law should never be changed.
  2. That's not a bad bit of reasoning there, Hyper.
  3. I understand your point and agree that the government has taken a wholly wrong approach to the issue via the already failed notion of CAFE. However, given the fact that CAFE cannot solve the problem, the government will be forced to re-visit the issue as reliance on oil becomes ever more onerous. I guarantee that eventually(likely very, very, late to the game) , our government will literally force us to use alternative fuels. There simply is no other option in the long term. I'd like to see us get ahead of all of that and will vote accordingly.
  4. The confusion could be coming from the opposite side of the coin. If your mother steps over the border into the US just as her water breaks and you take your first breath inside the line - you are an American Citizen. It doesn't matter where your mother came from or how she got there, you are instantly, and forever a "natural born citizen".
  5. Succinct reply.
  6. If your parents are citizens, you are automatically a citizen as well, and eligible to become president. Sorry, but your info. is bogus. Also, a territory of the US, especially a military base is technically part of the US anyway. So the info. is WAY off.
  7. I'd pay to see that... actually, I think we've all already paid to see it. We're just waiting on delivery.
  8. That's ok, I know I'm in the minority these days. It used to be that sedans were the red-headed step children that nobody wanted, now it's like pulling teeth to find a coupe. But I'm not going to change just because it's tough to find what I want.
  9. Doesn't sound like much fun to me. Has anything happened with the Cudas? And is that Caravan still taking up space?
  10. Thanks for posting those , Balthazar.
  11. It is a good problem to have.
  12. I've already forgotten what it looked like.
  13. An LS1 F-body can do 30 mpg highway too, but you'd never be able to keep your foot out of it.
  14. Bummer! How many cars are "just hanging around" now at your place?
  15. Monterey Maroon - very nice.
  16. Actually, when choosing between a coupe and a sedan, the sedan is always doomed.
  17. If you guys have pics of these, by all means please post them.
  18. Meh, I grew up with guns so they really don't faze me.
  19. You are certainly correct that the cars mentioned are not there to improve CAFE, they are rather the bonus we get for displacing the trucks with the others.
  20. I know which of those two I'd choose. Lucky for me, the internal debate is now decidedly over. :AH-HA_wink:
  21. I always loved the original Viper (especially a GTS) - the new one not so much. I'd rather have the Vette.
  22. I just don't see what you're looking at NOS, it looks like just another dumpy sedan to me. Like a smaller version of a W Grand Prix, or an old Chrysler cloud car.
  23. Just to compare, A '74 big body El Camino with a 454 comes in at over 4,400 pounds. My '77 (same big body), with a smallblock probably weighs in at about 4,200. EDIT: and these are on full frames.
  24. Thanks for looking them up.
  25. No chance of that now, with the G8 ST calling my name. But don't be surprised if I pick up a used one someday. :AH-HA_wink:
