  1. Sure, GM can build little tin cans that help meet CAFE - on paper. The trouble is, they have to sell enough of them for the numbers to work out. And that's the rub: Americans don't want them enough to make it profitable - so GM has a huge challenge ahead of them to make these little cars desireable and profitable. Otherwise, they will have to give them away just to meet the standards so that they can offer cars that people actually want. That means higher costs for all of us. The Volt is a good start.
  2. Eliminate all debt from my life.
  3. Time to use an American plant for these cars.
  4. Oh joy. Strike another blow for mediocrity.
  5. At least a few years later than it should have.
  6. And you'd be wrong. That thing is revolting!
  7. I'll be needing to go Tahoe hunting soon myself, my Aunt and Uncle want a very specific '07. -White -Tan leather -Sunroof -No third row -low miles/transferrable warranty
  8. Great song. Unfortunately, I think a "Long December" is coming to GM if certain people have their way...
  9. Nice catch, Cort! Yes, that's what I had in mind.
  10. Just like the Ridgeline, this thing is not a truck.
  11. Although this is yet another segment I'd never consider, I will say this much after driving a Rav4. It has surprisingly good power. It felt so cramped inside that if it is number1 in the segment there is no need to look at any of the others.
  12. Late in '94, I ordered a 2-door Tahoe with the 5spd. manual in black. After waiting 9 months for the truck to show-up, I went to the dealer to discover that it had arrived - in light blue metallic. The idiot salesman put the order in with the wrong color code. I took back my deposit and told them to keep it.
  13. Just remember that a Tick is a blood-sucking parasite.
  14. Happy New Year Everyone! "... maybe this year will be better than the last..." "...Let's hope it's a good one, without any fear..."
  15. Indeed. Without someone like him to follow his lead, the outlook is bleak.
  16. Not exactly the vision I had in my head.
  17. Driver error plain and simple. I would never do that to my Duramax, but I'm certain what the outcome would be if I did.
  18. I don't think I'd try that. An exact fit is the only way I'd be comfortable driving the car.
  19. Of course, I would have hunted down a pristine original and paid for the shipping rather than tackle a resto on this particular car. That said, more power to you for making it happen!
  20. In fact, if there were an alpha version, I'd have a hard time resisting it.
