  1. The rest is just a BS debate over semantics.
  2. Check it out! http://www.neatorama.com/2007/07/09/chevy-v8-grill/
  3. I've been tempted to buy one of those big wagons more than once - largely because of the clamshell. But, I like wagons generally (Novas included).
  4. Great job, Schuby!
  5. Umm... Myself, actually. Long story.
  6. Another great story! Thanks, FOG.
  7. Very cool! I have always loved wagons - hence my current project. Wagons Ho!
  8. Sort of. I intend to offer everything but the Silverado for sale eventually. I have decided to "collect" one at a time from now on. The plan is to have : 1. The Silverado 2. a driver 3. a project I'd like to try to keep the fleet at three total (with some occasional overlap) at any given time. Nine is too many. For now.
  9. I'm with Balthazar, I like all three. And, I love that fact that they will do battle in the showrooms and on the street. Yes, I give the design edge to the Camaro - it is the best of the batch. But what a great batch!
  10. That's another whole topic of griping and the gnashing of teeth, health care here is an obscene business. Right now, I do without. But, I don't want to roll those dice forever.
  11. Heard that, Ocn. I'm just so disgusted with the entire credit system that I want to live outside of it if I can.
  12. If you get it, dump that ugly Continental kit and put the bumper back where it belongs. :AH-HA_wink:
  13. Happy belated. Sorry I missed your day. on the Stargate thing.
  14. Change that fuel filter yet?
  15. Of course it means that I'll have to keep doing things like I'm doing right now ( fixing the cord on my vacuum instead of getting a new one). I have Zora to thank for that particular chore. That's ok though, I am ready, willing, and able to fix things and it beats buying something new. Unfortunately, it also means that the "fleet" has to go.
  16. ... that a new El Camino is going to happen. Because of that, I think I have a new mission. By the time I can order one I want to be entirely debt-free and have enough on hand for a cash purchase . I know it isn't the "American way" but I'm tired as hell of finance charges and being tied to payments. In fact, I'd like to find a way to never borrow again. The way I see it, you are never really free when someone has you by the financial short hairs. I would like to be able to live wthout the burden of monthly payments needing to be paid no matter what unforseen cicumstances arise. Without that burden, any temporary crisis is just that: temporary. But, once you miss any month with payments, the problem can easily snowball into a years-long ordeal. I'd rather eat mac-n-cheese for a month than pay absurd rates of interest for a year or more. The finance companies (especially credit cards) have to be the kings of over-punishment and greed. They want you to trip so that they can kick you. I've had enough of that garbage. Life doesn't allow for non-stop perfection such as they demand. So screw them.
  17. The Suburban has always been the king of utility - even before we ever heard the term SUV. Simply the best ever in class, and often the only vehicle in its class. Long live the Suburban!
  18. Reminds me a little of the Chrysler/Ghia showcars.
  19. I'm with Ocn, that X-ray is tough to look at. Heal fast, Mr. Delaware.
  20. From my "positives" list, I feel that one car would make a great example here. The Acura TL. It made the list because of some details which I find very appealing while the whole car kind of turns me off. I know that sounds weird but let me try to explain. The TL has an attractive nose and tail mostly due to a very pleasing and restrained design in the lighting, the lights are subtle with clean, crisp edges and a pleasing shape. They don't suffer from the tumour-like designs that have become so common lately. They are just the right size and don't sport that hideous chrome look the creatively -impared have been using ad nauseum in recent years. Then there are the TL's body creases and lines, they are sharp and crisp and purposeful in a world of soft, flabby, and indistinct lines on too many new cars. I love them. However, (you knew this was coming) the overall configuration and shape of the car is boredom incarnate. They got the details so right, but the big picture falls very short. I'd love to see those lights and lines gracing a sleek and slippery body shape. Imagine a hardtop coupe or sedan a la CLS with those fine Acura details draped over it. Now somebody sketch it for me! :AH-HA_wink:
  21. I know. NBD. But the Japanese suck!
