  1. You know, if the competition weren't so underwhelming in appearance, I'd be worried. Honestly, I don't care for the nose or tail of this car though it looks pretty good in profile.
  2. Here's the deal BV, asian design has never appealed to me at all - so even the "positives" I listed wouldn't ever progress to "buyable" status. To date the asians have never built a car I would want. It's just a matter of taste, the Europeans have my interest and have built plenty of cars I would consider. I know its hard for someone of your vintage to see how I don't find all things asian appealing, but that's really all there is to it. I just don't like them.
  3. 4th gen Camino FTW!
  4. Consider this: The Avalanche as a minor variant of the 900s sells more units at retail than the Nissan Titan. And take a look at the combined sales of the Trailblazer and Envoy, not too shabby for a platform getting a bit long in the tooth. Together, they nearly double Explorer sales.
  5. Put a few GMCs and Chevys together and then check out the numbers! Silverado + Sierra = 394,171 Tahoe + Yukon + Yukon Denali = 108,497 Suburban + Yukon XL + Yukon Denali XL = 64,399 Add some Caddy numbers and the Avalanche and I'd say the 900s are pretty dominating.
  6. He ought to get a medal for pedaling so hard! :AH-HA_wink:
  7. Thanks all, and a good day to my birthday brothers!
  8. I'm going to guess that Canada is at least as restrictive as the US on these lights. Which means that they can be mounted on your car, but must be covered when driving on public roadways. In other words, off-road use only. Some driving/fog lights are legal for highway use, but those retina- burners won't be allowed.
  9. I can't see anything made like a Moke being able to meet US standards and still look like a Moke.
  10. About time. Looks like Detroit is ahead on something this time around. Good.
  11. 10 best? No way to come up with ten. Best: Original 240/260 Z cars NSX Some recent Acuras Original Xterra Current Infiniti coupe EDIT: Add the current Maxima to the positive column The rest would just be a pissing contest for the remaining spots. Worst: Lexus Hardtop convertible Toyota Echo Toyota FJ Cruiser Toyota Prius Toyota Camry Toyota Tundra Toyota Avalon All of Scion Honda Ridgeline Honda Insight I could add many more to the list, but these offend my eyes most these days.
  12. Wow! This is turning into a happening.
  13. Cross another state off of the list of places I'd consider living.
  14. Wait, you still don't believe the Camaro will be built?

No chance of me caring about this. Why do these fools wait in line for days for this stuff? Even the idiot mayor of Philly camped out to get one.
  16. As a general rule, FWD cars have odd, unpleasant, proportions. 68 illustrated it well with the DTS pics. Sure there are exceptions, but overhang isn't the whole story. Some of the worst -proportioned FWD cars suffer from a full size cabin with tiny front and rear clips, the 80s/90s Devilles are a great example of this.
  17. Both of those temperature extremes can happen here as well, and for years rusty cars were common around here. For some reason, they are now a rarity. Part of it seems to be from better factory rust prevention and part of it is likely the increasing affluence of the area reducing the numbers of older cars. In my barn are 3 1977 A bodies, their conditions are very different from each other as they are from 3 different states with very different histories. The "Rustamino" was "run hard and put away wet" in New York state. The floorpans, bed, quarters, and the bottoms of the doors and fenders have extensive rust. The Wagon is a great example of the benefits of rustproofing/undercoating and garaging. It is from New Jersey and should be nothing but a rusty memory. However, it was extensively undercoated and spent most of its life being garage kept. So it has very little rust and still wears the original paint. Only the doglegs behind the rear doors require rust repair in two small areas. The Project Camino spent its life in Las Vegas, was never undercoated, has no rust, and still has factory (color) paint on its underbelly!
  18. I case you forgot what it looks like, here is the "Rustamino":
  19. We do need to talk about timing,68.
