  1. OK, so this report comes from French intelligence based on Saudi intelligence? Yeah sure, I'll buy into that.
  2. Cool! That's a new name too, so maybe they've decided to do it in house. Keep us posted.
  3. Fly -Refuse the deal -get other estimates -insist that it be repaired - do not accept the verdict of total, your own research proves that the repair can be done for less than the value of the car. Get written estimates to prove this and they will have to comply. -demand that they replace your camera. -Rule of thumb: Always take the car to an independent shop for the damage estimate and never to the insurance company's "pet" shop. - Don't forget that it is your car and that you are the wronged party in all of this. They owe you, make them pay.
  4. Many cars damaged to this degree are simply never fixed and driven as is. They should have refrained from causing additional damage and cut you a check for 4k or so (per their estimate) and given you the option of having it fixed or not. Now, because of their actions, you have no good options - so I say make them bleed for everything.
  5. Keep the opinions/ideas coming on this topic.
  6. Thanks for the input everyone, keep it coming. NH is looking good so far. Delaware has no sales tax.
  7. Sounds good to me. Use my Jag if you want. I can take more pics if needed.
  8. I wouldn't accept a salvage title just because they are lazy. Send them the info you gathered and tell them you want it fixed, pronto, with no salvage brand on the title as well as a new camera which they undeniably owe you. Catch them in their lies and stick it up their ass. Idiots!
  9. Ah, I see. I'll get back to you,then. :AH-HA_wink:
  10. 4th gen Firebird? Should have lots of commonality, tends toward round openings, and should we widely available in boneyards/swapmeets/on ebay. Just my first thought. Pic:
  11. Alaska has been on my mind for years, but I'm not so sure I want to be there year round. I'm thinking New England or the Pacific northwest if I actually dump PA.
  12. I've considered it, and it may still be an option. I can't help thinking that somewhere entirely new might be more to my liking though. No, I know Jersey has those issues in an exponentially worse way.
  13. The main beef is the ever-increasing population density here in SE PA. I love the land itself, but there are too many people by twice at least. The rest of the state is much more open.
  14. Thanks for the low-down, but I need to stay north of the Mason-Dixon line as I hate hot weather.
  15. I am not suggesting anything like that. We currently have emissions testing and I'm not objecting to that. I am opposing hitching our wagon to California's legislative whims.
  16. "Live Free or Die" is my kind of state motto, I wonder if they mean it?
  17. I just called my representative to register my feelings on this idea. If you live here, I suggest you do the same.
  18. Quote from article: But if California prevails in a pending legal fight with automakers over proposed reductions in greenhouse gases for 2009 models, that change automatically would be imposed in Pennsylvania. Those standards are expected to increase new-vehicle prices, although officials disagree about how much, and automakers say the greenhouse-gas standard would also force them to produce smaller cars with less horsepower The above is what I most object to.
  19. I wonder if anyone has ever made a comparison study of this. If so, I'd like to read it.
  20. I see this as ceding our decision-making to C.A.R.B. and once we do that, it's over. The issue will never be re-visited and whatever CA does from now on we will be stuck with. Once regulations are in place, they are rarely ever lifted. I don't trust PA government to look after my interests and I certainly don't trust CA to do so. This is just one more reason that my home state feels less like home, and one more reason to look elsewhere.
  21. I'm guessing that no one knows, or even knows how to find out.
  22. Which of the 50 states has the least restrictive laws overall and is the least intrusive into the lives of it's citizens? I honestly want to know. "That which governs best, governs least." I have U-Haul on speedial. :AH-HA_wink:
  23. OK, then they are spineless rather than just lazy. Once again the automobile is a scapegoat. I'm so sick of people f-ing with my "pursuit of happiness" I may just leave this state, especially if our "leaders" continue to use California as a template. I won't live in "California East" any more than I would live in the original. Been there, might visit again, will never live there under any circumstances.
  24. <------- Lights a smoke and thinks about all of this.
  25. They can't affect auto manufacturers but they can draft legislation to address air quality in the state and design their own emissions testing program. They can also address other sources of pollution in the state. As I said before they are simply lazy.
