  1. So, is this an RS/SS since there is chrome trim around the tail lamps?
  2. Well, then apparently i'm NOT an American... (I've almost nailed the assimilation part, but if anybody askes "I'm an Armenian, born in Mexico, and living in the US," and in case you are wondering I am a citizen of 2/3's of North America) Totally agree with everything, except the "it's work Americans can't do" part. Here's my "Something that really pisses me off:" if somebody is unemployed and homeless, and has been for a while, then wouldn't they be more then happy to get a job? (I figure the answer is no, considering they probably make a lot more begging.) Anyway... the funny thing about this thread is, I ALSO CAN'T STAND areas that have been overrun by one race to the point that it might as well be a little chunk of their homeland. I just feel like this thread started out with all the WRONG arguments, and nobody has really offered solutions. And when I did offer anything, all I heard back (up until balthazar's post) was 'I don't have the power to do anything about it,' followed by a bunch of sarcastic remarks...
  3. Then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Why not go take their jobs, so that none are left to offer them? Why not take every unemployed person in the USA and make them take the jobs? Then, guess what, you'll probably see a lot less illegal aliens! My grandparents (and countless other Armenians) moved from Russia, through German camps, before, during and after WWII, and they all learned English. I moved from Mexico City, granted I was only 3, and learned English after already speaking Armenian and Spanish. Yes, there are tons of immigrants who move to the USA and learn English... Not everybody that does has that opportunity. Maybe they are too old. Maybe they are too poor. Maybe they move to places where English isn't needed. I know for a fact, that even if they (the older generations) never learn, the younger generations go to school and do learn. Oh... and to DF's comment about why no labels in an Asian language... apparently there isn't a large (enough) Asian community where you live, because in the areas I frequent not only are there plazas full of Asian text, but there are markets full of products from Asia with labels full of languages from those parts.
  4. Maybe from the outside it looks smaller, but I can attest to the Lambdas being waaaay more roomy and "big" on the inside. They aren't as wide as the 900's, but the way they are packaged makes them feel much longer. Maybe it's seating positions and stiff cushions, but I can't stand riding in the 2nd row of a 900.
  5. Hacienda and Rowland Heights have to be up there in Asian population. Diamond Bar is up there too. Yup... lot's of foreigners are taking over, some are not as fortunate as other.
  6. What I was referring to was not "Chinatown" etc., but similar situations to predominantly Mexican areas.
  7. If the USA keeps providing them jobs (that its own citizens don't want) then why wouldn't they keep taking them?
  8. Well... considering Spanish is the de facto official language, and English doesn't count as one of Mexico's indigenous languages, then... YES, they would be like WTF, and at least they would have a reason to By the way... they love Metallica and lots of other "American" music in Mexico (at least in Mexico City).
  9. What's there to laugh about? Nobody is telling you to learn Spanish, simply that you have to accept the fact that it will be used around you.
  10. What theory? There is a 5 mile stretch of the a freeway in LA (60 going through the City of Industry and Hacienda Heights) that has ONLY Chinese (I believe) text. Because you don't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. For living in Los Angeles and San Diego (so I take it we should translate these from Spanish too?) I see very few billboards in Spanish.
  11. Because the French, German and Italian immigrants probably make up a fraction (if that) of the total number of immigrants from Asia and Spanish speaking American countries.
  12. I'd hope so! The argument here is that immigrants/newcomers aren't. I'm pretty sure their children are. And as stated... the foreigners aren't advertising in their respective languages, its the people companies that want to sell more of their product.
  13. Link doesn't work... but it does sound like a STEAL!
  14. I think the problem is less that people are too lazy to learn a new language (though you could argue that depending on their circumstances, there are differences in people's abilities to learn the new language), and more that groups of immigrants are becoming so large that they just don't have to. Of course, the whole "freedom of speech" thing helps to ensure that signs/advertisements/etc. can be in foreign languages...
  15. Excellent... come to East LA County, and I'll show you China. This is the same argument that comes up when people comment on cars being "this and that" based on personal experience... There is always a counter-example. As Enzora said... it usually takes a couple generations for a group/family to assimilate.
  16. I know... :AH-HA_wink: By the way... there are parts of LA that are completely in foreign languages (besides Spanish), and I don't see anybody in a big fuss about that. I know first generation USA-ans (hehe) whose parents (from places other then Mexico or Central America) don't speak one word of English.
  17. Dude, try and at least spell 'America' correctly.. You also need to realize that Mexico is part of America!
  18. One of those vans had a Warner Brothers edition.
  19. Not the concept, but oh well... It would be cool if the concept's styling cues make it to production in another Chevy.
  20. Once found the Infinity Razor at a CVS, and gave it a try figuring I could always return it to the store (actually gave it to my dad as a spoof x-mas gift, and just had to try it after he told me how terrible it was). That thing was the BIGGEST PIECE OF $h! in the world! The only reason they can possibly claim it stays sharp forever is because it's not that sharp to begin with! My usual Mach 5 blades with 10 uses probably work better then that thing.
  21. Yeah... Slater's character's alter ego drives a Traverse in the same show. link to NBC's My Own Worst Enemy
  22. The Camaro!
  23. So that's why you haven't been posting, you're spending too much time enjoying your new car! Very nice! Congrats...
  24. It's my third, and I do just fine
  25. Red G8 GT!
