  1. Are we gonna have to wait for the next Cobalt (whenever that is) to get rid of that nasty electric power steering?
  2. Only three American cars (Vibe doesn't count) were better-than-average... hmm... Keep in mind, though, that there is usually a large number of American vehicles that score "average" on reliability. So either the American cars are getting better reliability scores or everything is leveling out and the "average" is going up. My guess is "both."
  3. Pontiac G8 GT, black exterior, black-and-red interior... ... at the dealer nearest me, with a $2,000 "limited edition" markup... The G8 I test-drove in Newport News wasn't marked up. Daggone Baltimore dealers...
  4. Oh yeah, a Buick Estate as a taxi.
  5. I'll start it off. New Pontiac Vibe GT in all red... looked good. Hopefully the design won't age badly. And is it just me, or has there been a greater appearance of TDI vehicles on the road? In the past few days I've seen three generations of Jetta TDIs.
  6. Get some retribution!
  7. I stopped off and saw that one last week after one of my classes. I am inclined to agree with you.
  8. Slide forward-slide back Recline forward-recline back Seat front up-seat front down Lumbar up-lumbar down Entire seat up-entire seat down Headrest up-headrest down That's 12... what, do the seats swivel both ways? Flip upside down? Seriously though... I bet no one could figure out what was the point of the other 8. And to get back to smk4565... or better yet, let's not... 'cause his diatribe was lost on me when he said that the G8 should be compared to the STS... which proves he wants GM to implode so that Deutschland can take over!
  9. Let's see... My wife is... my wife. That's the easy answer. But besides that, she eats grapes a nibble at a time. Not whole, like they should be eaten.
  10. That's hot. Even the clear lights on the white exterior. Fitting this in... I saw an 09 Corolla on my way back from Virginia yesterday. I had to explain the differences to my wife, who is not at all a car person. I predict a lot of people going "what's new about it?" when they see it in person. Oh yeah, a navy blue Pontiac GTO.
  11. Don't forget Hudson, who starts tonight and is the actual ace. The offense is rather deep too, 'cause everyone from 1 to 8 has the potential to hurt you.
  12. Since GM isn't importing very many G8s (compared to the cars they're actually building here), I would be rather surprised to see a G8 with a barcode.
  13. No one shows love for the Braves anymore. That's ok though. I predict some surprises this year.
  14. With my laptop speakers, I couldn't hear anything beyond 18k. Must be due to being on the drumline in high school.
  15. Ew... that... just...
  16. The "high-beams" jokes write themselves.
  17. Just PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't anybody post a Yaris.
  18. Let me get back to Maryland, and I'll see if I can find one.
  19. I didn't get much chance to toss it around, unfortunately. Remind me to do that next time I test one.
  20. I felt it turning off (going to 8cyl) the most on downshifts and going uphill. When I was cruising neighborhoods (and cruising in general), the engine felt weaker, like a 4cyl (lol). Strangely, though, I was able to cruise at about 30 MPH at less than 1500 RPMs, something I'm not used to. Basically, the power's there when you want it, even if only just a little bit.
  21. Pros: Extremely well-mannered on city and neighborhood streets. Sound of engine revs. Driving position. Responsive steering. Not floaty AT ALL, a plus with a car that size. Seats are well-suited to however you decide to drive. Interior, though not elegant, is very functional (my wife will attest to that). More spacious interior than anything except maybe the DTS. Neither here nor there: I could feel the AFM when it kicked in and when it turned off, but I expected the engine to do that. Couldn't get used to the SportShift mode, but I probably wouldn't use it much anyway. Cons: I didn't get to thrash the car how I would have liked. Overall: The G8 GT is easily the most powerful car I have driven in my almost 9 years of driving, and I would have to get used to all those ponies under the hood, not that's a bad thing... My wife liked it too. When I came back from the drive, I spoke to a guy who came up to look at the car. He said that it was the first G8 he had seen and that he thought it was a GTO at first (he owns one and loves it). We shot the breeze a little bit about the G8 and GTO, then parted company. For those of y'all who aren't quite sold on the G8 yet, go drive it.
  22. I saw the exact same car at the dealership near my parents' house. (Well, not the EXACT same car, but you know what I mean.) That would probably be the only car I'd ever buy in white. I can see why you're underwhelmed by it, but here's the take I have on it: Look at what it's replacing.
  23. This is requiring too much thought. Honda Accord - Female Jaguar XF - Male Mini Cooper - Female Mazda3 - Female GMC Acadia - Male Buick Enclave - Female
  24. I sat in a G8 earlier this afternoon. I agree with everything you said. They didn't let me drive it, unfortunately.
  25. Second-gen Pontiac GTO, red body, black top, big wheels. Pontiac G8 base at a dealer on my way back from class. Car definitely looks better up close and not on a rotating pedestal.
