  1. I must be Canadian as I see threw an unnecessary u in wonder. LOL I need to pay closer attention to the spell checker. I haven't priced out a Trax. I assumed it would be the same price or even slightly cheaper than a comparably equipped Renegade (which I have priced out ). I guess I have some homework to do.
  2. I'm a little surprised Encore is outselling the Trax even though I think it is the better looking of the two. That is good for GM since it gets a bit of a price premium. Camaro was massively outsold by Mustang and barely came in ahead of the Challenger. Alpha can't get here fast enough!
  3. A nice sales gain for Ford without relying on F150 sales. Not bad. Basically the whole entire sales gain for the month was Transit sales.
  4. Wow! That is nice mileage. I haven't hit that mark with my mostly city driving in my Cruze. Generally upper 30's. Is your Jetta a manual? Unfortunately for VW, a sales plunge for the Passat more than offset the gains of the Jetta, GTI and Golf.
  5. The Renegade outsold the Trax. I wounder if that will turn into a trend I'm glad to see 200 sales are way up and Dart sales also up a decent percentage. Hopefully those bumps are due to the Avenger inventory running out and not big fleet orders. BOTH Caravan and T&C down big! I wonder what is going on there.
  6. Thank you for putting these together and posting them this month! I don't always post in the threads but I very much enjoying looking through them. I appreciate you taking the time to do it!
  7. I had a feeling I didn't remember everything so I went out to my car and dug out the repair orders. Repair #1 (approx. 6K miles) was just replacing the O2 sensor . Repair #2 (approx. 11.5K miles) was "Replaced air induction and air heater duct." Repair #3 (approx. 12K miles) was the everything but the kitchen sink repair of "replaced ALL air induction components including air heater and mass air flow meter." This repair included replacing the one duct that they had just replaced 500 miles earlier in repair #2. A field engineer was involved on the last repair. The situation sucked but the dealership handled everything very well at least. The car never had any driveability issues and always acted 100% normal other than the SES light.
  8. Are you referring to the P0133 code? If so, I saw a number of posts when I was researching mine that said you need to get on the gas pedal once in a while. That is definitely not the problem for me! I don't beat on the car but I am not a hyper miler and am definitely not conservative with throttle application. The tech told me the engineer thought the car wasn't running long enough to heat up properly. That didn't make sense either as I have a 25 mile one way commute to work and I was putting 1500 miles per month on the car. In my case, first time in they replaced the O2 sensor. I think this lasted around 5K miles. The second time in, they supposedly found a leak in the intake system somewhere and got everything aligned and sealed. That fix lasted a few days. For the third time in, they replaced a number of the intake components. I got it back in January and it has been good ever since, knock on wood. I remember reading on one of the Cruze sites back in December that some were talking about replacing leaking EGR valve/mounting plate fixed it and another person chimed in and said it was a design issue with one of the intake tubes and GM was going to release a new design. My car didn't have the EGR messed with and I honestly have no idea if I got a new design intake tube. Unfortunately, I don't think they really know what is causing the issue as I have seen a variety of "fixes" reported. All I can say is that mine has lasted 4 months and 5K miles without throwing the code again.
  9. That looks nice and that is pretty good FE for a V6 4x4 that isn't broken in yet. Looks like you got pretty much what I would get except I would probably get RWD. Nice truck!
  10. Well, I have a family now that I didn't have back when I had my compact trucks so honestly this size truck would work better for my family. I'd just have to make sure a crew cab short box would fit in the garage. I assume it would but they seem to be much longer than the old S10. Any idea if when you get a RWD truck it has a lower suspension? I think both the Colorado and Canyon would look pretty sweet in RWD with a little lower suspension. The websites make the RWD trucks look like 4x4's. My Colorado LT = $30,410 My Canyon SLE = $31,270 I wonder how much the diesel will add and when it will be available? I haven't read anything about it in a while. The above prices include the V6.
  11. Okay, guys. No problem. This thing is 7 pages long and over a year old so I figured the interest was drying up but since you guys are still interested, I'll keep it going. I'll try to update once a month or so. Sorry.. I meant to rep you up and I reped you down by accident.... I'm too dumb to use my own website. Also, I mentioned your prior issues with the Cruze diesel to a rep from Chevy. He said that if you have any such issues again that you give him a call. No biggie on the negative rep points. Thanks for letting the Chevy rep know. It's been good since the last fix so I'm happy at the moment. If nothing else, it will highlight the issue a little more. I'm not sure everybody would quite as patient as I have been so its good they know what is going on.
  12. Glad to hear you are really enjoying the new truck. As a former 2x S10 and 2x Ranger owner, the Colorado/Canyon really appeal to me but I do wish GM had made them a bit smaller. I see quite a few of them on the road now and I still think they look quite large every time I see them. Still... seeing as I am apparently a diesel guy now, the diesel version could be tempting if it is priced right. lol
  13. This will probably be the last update I do for a while because it appears interest has maybe dried up a bit. All is well at the moment. No codes since the last time I got the car back from the dealership and everything runs fine. I just went on a driving vacation that would have been great with this car but the wife wanted to use her big car (Chrysler 300S - more on that later) so this got left at home. None the less, I think it just had its best performance of a whole tank on just my typical daily drives. This time around: 607.5 miles on 15.368 gallons for a calculated average of 39.53 MPG. I had maybe an extra 20 miles of interstate driving on this tank so I'll call it 70/30 city/highway. The EVIC was way off for some reason as it showed only 35.8 MPG and even if I calculate assuming I used the full 15.6 gallon tank it still works out to almost 39 MPG. It also showed an average speed for the tank as 35.5 MPH. As for the wife's car, it is a 2014 300S V6. We took it on a trip from Michigan to Tennessee and back to Michigan with a detour through east Ohio. The only 100% highway driving tank was partially through the mountains and included 30+ minutes of bumper to bumper traffic (thanks Cincinnati and especially Columbus!) and the car averaged a calculated 30.98 MPG!!! That fill up was just as we got off the interstate for some Ohio two lane highway driving and the EVIC showed that next tank hitting 34.5 MPG before we hit our destination and ruined the tank with a bunch of city driving. I actually was damn impressed that a big car like that would get that mileage.
  14. My GM retiree dad wound up leasing a 2012 Town & Country. I think it was the first new Chrysler he had since a late 70's Plymouth Volare station wagon that was a pile. He had The T&C for three years and the only problem I recall him having was the window switch recall that they were never able to replace the switch before he turned it in. He absolutely LOVED it. Living in Florida, he got robbed on the lease unfortunately. If the buyout hadn't been so high, he would have bought it he liked it that much. He drove it from south Florida to Michigan once and got 29.9 mpg!!! He's not the fastest driver in the world but he is no hyper miler either and that same trip would have returned 34 mpg in the GMC Terrain 4 cyl he had before the van. Based on their experience with the T&C, my Mom bought a Durango. At that point, my Dad started feeling guilty about not having a GM product in the household so he wound up replacing the T&C with an Equinox.
  15. Congratulations! That is a nice looking truck. Hopefully you will keep us updated with your thoughts on it.
  16. Do it! You know you want one. lol If you are 2/3 highway, unless the other third is all a stop and go crawl I would bet you would average AT LEAST low 40's. Go back and look at what my average speeds where per tank and what MPG I got. 60 MPH seems to be its sweet spot but honestly as long as you are going a steady speed without doing a lot of acceleration, the car doesn't much car how fast you are going. Have you checked used in your area? I was surprised when I saw used for sale in metro Detroit already. I'd say buy used in the colder months when diesel is quite a bit higher than gas. In the summer when fuel prices are more even my guess is the used prices on the diesel will go up a bit. So, obviously I haven't been posting every tank any more. It has largely been more of the same. Most have been around 35 mpg throughout the winter including a lot of sub zero mornings and remote starts. Not too bad. I was checking on fuel tank size one day and happened to notice that I was a little off on what size the tank is. For some reason I thought it was 14.5 gallons. Turns out it is 15.6 gallons but it takes forever to get it full because of the foamy nature of diesel. I think all my earlier calculations were accurate as I filled it up the same way every time. So, with the new found fuel tank capacity, my latest tank was as folllows: 575.6 miles (still showed 60 miles of range!) at an average speed of 35.8 mph and the VIC showing 35.6 mpg average. It was a little more off than usual this time as calculated was 38.22 mpg since it took 15.058 gallons.
  17. Looks like the last tank was real. This tank was 476.3 miles at 30.1 mph average with an indicated 32.7 mpg. It took 13.739 gallons so calculated was 34.67 mpg. Lots of cold days, a few remote starts and slow commutes due to snow really took their toll.
  18. Mazda is still working on trying to achieve the performance they think will work for the U.S. marketplace and haven't given any indication of when they'll be releasing it. This was back in December. I do remember reading that and their excuses for why it is delayed. I am wondering if they now have a new excuse not to hurry.
  19. Can someone explain Subaru's big monthly sales gains every month? Pretty much every vehicle was up big and I just don't get it.. I guess I need to go test drive some of their vehicles. I haven't checked anything out at the dealership since 2005 as their styling started drifting away from what I like starting around 2007. I find it somewhat amazing the the Outback outsold the Forester considering how poorly wagons are thought of by the general populous of this country (unless you call it a CUV, of course).
  20. I still don't understand how they plan on staying in the US market. No midsize sedan and the Lancer is going to die as well, right? So they will have a couple of SUV's and a crappy subcompact that can't possibly sell on anything other than price. I know they keep talking about a Galant successor but when is it ever going to get here?
  21. Probably true on the Trax vs. Sonic. I wish GM would release Cruze diesel sales numbers. I'm sure they are a minuscule percentage but I would still like to know.
  22. Why does it seem like Jaguar is on a painfully slow death march? Maybe the XE will turn them around a bit. I really like what they have done with the product but it sure hasn't translated into sales. They will probably have the best lineup they have ever had once the XE launches and it still may not matter.
  23. Nice to see the Mazda6 is doing well but as I seemingly ask every month: When the hell is the diesel going to be here? I wonder if they will even bring it now that gas prices are down so much. Maybe the have re-evaluated and will take their time getting it right and try and time the introduction for when gas prices are back up?
  24. Yep, if it weren't for A3 they probably would have been down for the month depending on how many of those A3 sales would have been A4 sales if the A3 didn't exist. I wonder if Audi is hitting a wall here.
  25. 27,357 Crapolla sales this month. I guess that means 27,357 people that hate driving bought new cars this month! Lexus vehicles keep getting uglier and more bizarre looking and they are rewarded with BEST EVAR! sales. SMH
