  1. I hate to come off as a jerk, but who cares what someone else drives? Honestly, if they liked the Prius so much, who cares if THEY invested the time researching it and spent THEIR money on it. It seems like when people buy a non-domestic product everyone goes into defense/attack mode: "OMG I can't believe you beat up my 86-year old grandmother, stole her life savings and bought a(n) [insert car you hate here]!!!!!11!!! I hope your car catches fire!" Jeez. It's not like I'd want to live with a Prius everyday either, but at least I can keep stupid comments like that to myself. As for your second point...maybe if the driver in Sixty8's post wasn't "trying to make the light", she wouldn't have hit his friend. I know not every thread has to be serious, as shown by the LOL CATS thread, but seriously, when you make treads like this EVERY OTHER DAY, it gets rather absurd. Just sticky a thread or something.
  2. Sorry that you've run into [no pun intended] so many problems. I hope you sort things out quickly and get the reparations you deserve. Then, once you finish school, you can move up to the to the 603 and leave Lawrence and Assachusetts behind.
  3. $3.59 [regular] /$3.69 [plus] /$3.79 [premium] /$4.09 [diesel] at the Citgo nearby. If you travel into "the city", however, the prices drop about 15 cents.
  4. Naw, I think that award is still held by the new Scion xB:
  5. I hate to be the downer cow at this party, but depending on how much you make, you'll receive somewhere between $300 and $600. Just to let you know. Me? None, I'm still claimed as a dependent. My parents don't even get money for me. If you're 18+ and a dependent, neither you nor the people who claim you get the money you would get. Make sense? It's even confusing to me!

    Well ...

I registered about three weeks ago as an independent. I am so excited to vote in November. Now I just hope my candidate makes it through to the final election...
  7. Toyotas. Yes I said it. Something interesting about Toyotas. It's a database of all the paint codes used throughout a model's lifespan. Yeah, it's a nerdy obsession. I wish I could find a website like this for other manufactures. A complaint: Why are all the cars looking riced? Just make 'em look normal. In any case, here's the link: Toyota Reference
  8. Bill Bryson is one of my favorite authors, all his books are great in my opinion. If you liked 1984 or books of a similar vein, try White Noise by Don DeLillo. Very good book.
  9. I'm sure you have excellent reasons for switching from the Lucerne to the Camry Hybrid, but did you look at any of the Camry competitors in the GM stable? The new Malibu is a knockout, and the LTZ I4 gets relatively good gas mileage. Just my 2 cents. Hope you enjoy your new car, regardless of who made it. edit: grammar
  10. I believe that it is a regional drink, found in only New England. I could be wrong though...
  11. I'm going out on a huge limb here, but someone else ACTUALLY likes Moxie? Woah.
  12. I'm going to guess that I'm in the minority, but I love Moxie. The original, not the stupid energy drink.
  13. Right now we have a Dodge, Mercury, and Toyota in our stable. 2001 Dodge Dakota - Mom 1998 Toyota Camry - Dad (commuter) 1997 Mercury Sable Wagon - Me Counting Extended Family: Aunt & Uncle #1 - Pontiac Grand Prix and Toyota Sequoia Aunt & Uncle #2 - VW Passat, Ford Explorer, and Chrysler T&C Grandmother #1 - Toyota Camry Aunt & Uncle #3 - Toyota 4Runner, Ford F150, and Toyota Echo Grandparents #2 - Pontiac Grand Am
  14. My car has BANDWGN on it. Any Honda: VTEC-YO Camry: BLENDIN I got nothing for you though...
  15. The 2010 is supposed to get a diesel version, if I remember correctly...
  16. Thanks for explaining, it does make more sense now. I guess I know who to contact if I have stupid* auto questions *not "where is the dipstick" stupid, mind you.
  17. I want a square watermelon now. The Koreans are pioneering square apples: Square Apples from Korea
  18. 1997 Mercury Sable with the 3.0 Vulcan.
  19. All right, so before I ask my question, I would like to point out that I am not "technically inclined" when it comes to cars. I know where vital fluids go and how to change them, but that is the extent of it. So, I'm kind of a n00b when it comes to most things. I was thinking about this on my drive home from work. I drive a car with a column-mounted shifter. Where exactly is the gearbox? Is it in the same place as a car with a floor-mounted shifter? Or in a different place? How does the gearbox know to disengage park for instance in either form? I honestly want to know, and you know, become a little more educated about the car I drive. [/noob]
  20. $3.12 for regular, $3.42 for premium, and $3.92 for diesel at the station around the corner from my house. If you travel 5 minutes down the road in either direction its about 10 cents cheaper...
  21. I think Chrysler should keep the T&C. It sells just as well as the Caravan, and in its current form, looks better than the Caravan. Other than that, I agree with what you have to say, especially the diesel part.
  22. I'm a pretty diverse person music-wise; for the most part I listen to mostly anything. However, I really don't like metal, screamo, most country (Brooks & Dunn is the exception), opera, or rap.
  23. Why can't Ford Europe share the love with Ford NA? Seriously. The interiors on ALL of the recent Euro-Fords have been amazing, but what are we left with? Honestly, it's called parts sharing. Do more of it. Kuga: Focus:
  24. Same here. I really like the V70. I really wish GM would offer a wagon on the Epsilon platform in America. coughvectrawagonequalssaturnorchevroletsomethingcough.
  25. YES PLZ: - 5-door hatch, wagon, or CUV (a la Rouge) - 4/5/6-Cylinder - Diesel engine - Beige or black interior - Automatic - MP3 Adapter - Heated Seats - Ski Rack and/or kayak rack EXTRA's: - Leather - Sunroof NO WAI: - Truck, Sedan, Coupe - V8 - Gray interior - Navigation System
