  1. Yes, but I don't think European Fords are thought of as American..Ford has been big in Europe for many decades and has built distinctly European cars in Europe for the European market.. Cadillac is selling distinctly American cars in Europe (except for the BLS) ...
  2. No, I think an engineer might say that..though I would expect it to be in millimeters.
  3. So? How does that count? GM is in the business of selling new cars.
  4. I got to thinking about the weight..it's ok...heft has always been in the Cadillac DNA, and is a defining American car attribute..I can't imagine Cadillac building a small, lean, nimble sports sedan--that's too European. To keep it's American character, it needs to be hefty...and some people will like that quality.
  5. The MKR is an exciting concept, but unfortunately, it's just that...a concept. The CTS is real.
  6. I'm amazed they would offer 21s...I would think they'd top out at 18 or 19 inch...I wonder if the production car will have smaller wheelwell openings than the showcar...17s would look small on there, I think..
  7. It wouldn't make sense for a Saleen Camaro...the name has been linked with Ford products for 20+ years..
  8. Maybe Infiniti will return to their original 'rocks and trees' ad campaign..
  9. I like it too...and the 3-series.. I'd have to drive both before I could judge which I liked better... can't wait to see the CTS upclose...it's interesting how it looks smaller than it is in the pics.
  10. Of course, since they've already put the 5.3 in other dubyas, the Super was probably pretty cheap to develop...a nose job and an engine transplant.
  11. Interesting...as far as the naming goes, they have Ram, Charger, Avenger, Nitro, Caliber, Viper... and Dakota and Durango..all very macho, tough-sounding names... I guess the marketers are targeting a demographic of right-wingers and rugged outdoors types...
  12. I like the shifter spot..that's the typical spot for the shifter in European and some Japanese minivans..
  13. I'm not a fan of tattoos, though I have dated women that had a few, small hidden ones. I don't care for piercings beyond the normal (ears)...i.e. I don't care for pierced tongues, lips, eye brows, eye lids, nipples, labia, nose, sternums, necks, skulls, etc...
  14. No armrest or center headrest? That's wierd...
  15. I'm looking forward to seeing and studying the CTS in person... I want to see how the decklid is shaped up close--looks like it's higher on the sides and dips in the middle...interesting design.
  16. reg's mindless blathering gets old... I see probably 15 3-series for every 1 CTS here in the Denver metro area..very popular car around here, and it's pretty much right in the 'middle of America' (a bit to the west of the geographic center)...the 3 series is pretty space-efficient, IMHO.
  17. I have a 6'3" coworker that drives a new 3-series 4dr.. I haven't tried riding in the back (I'm 6'0"), but my 5'7" coworkers fit in the back the just fine.. the 3-series is a great size, IMHO...not too small, not too big..
  18. I suspect it would be..aren't Impala SS and Grand Prix GXP north of $30k? It wouldn't be priced less than them..
  19. I remember it also...my friend Steve bought a black Maxima SE that year and kept talking about that ad..
  20. The lack of a manual transmission option and the cartoonish bodykit turn me off completely. I'd have to look at the CTS-v or another M3.. I wonder what the price point will be...probably up there in RS4 or M5 territory..
  21. True enough...I'd like to see a comparison test between this and the Civic Si...the Si seems like a pretty slick package..
  22. I really like the styling...futuristic, but not wildly out there...
  23. Same here..I like what I've seen so far, but I'll reserve judgement until I can sit in it, walk around it, etc..
  24. But do you like the 'Fast and Furious' movies? I think Pontiac is going after the 'tuner' crowd with this car...
  25. Yeah, I'm afraid this GXP goes over into tacky..but I figure the kids will probably like it...I'm not the target demographic for this car (I'm 36).
