  1. Hmm....I'm always confusing the CTS and STS, from the front..until I notice the outer edge of the headlight cluster...I've never had trouble distinguishing a 3-series from a 5-series--the size difference alone is noticable. Then again, I'm a BMW owner and fan, so I pay attention to them more, probably..
  2. Full size trucks, full size SUVs, RWD sedans (Charger, 300, Zetas), RWD coupes (Mustang, Camaro, Challenger).
  3. Well, it is a rather obscure car...had to look it up..
  4. And the assclowns that don't wipe the snow off their cars..driving around with the windows covered with snow..
  5. You serious? I thought turn signals were standard everywhere...
  6. I think '93 was the last year..'87 was the first year (which is what the car in the ad looks like). Anyway, the Allante was an '80s car that lasted into the '90s..
  7. Cool...interesting that they skipped the '90s in both versions...I like the '80 something Seville being in there..it was a very distinctive car in it's day. Neat song also..
  8. Interesting.. I didn't realize St. Pierre and Miquelon existed until last week (saw a reference to them in another context).
  9. What is DCL glass? Those Bonnevilles were pretty lame, IMHO..just a LeMans with a nose job..the Parissienne was neat, though (even though it was a retrimmed Caprice until they brought back the '81 Bonneville rear clip).

    Different company, different market..
  11. Yeah, the biggest knock I have on the STS is that it is so similar in size to the CTS..not that much bigger...and from some angles (front 3/4) they look very similar...the STS would look better if it weren't so slab sided and with such a short, chopped off tail. The previous STS, though FWD, was a much better looking car, IMHO.
  12. Not necessarily cheap, but ugly...what's up with the wierd texturing on the top and front of the dash, for example?
  13. I think that is the 5dr version of the Yaris...sure looks like the 3dr Yaris sold in the US but with two extra doors...
  14. Natural response in some people..they fear the unknown.

Agreed...Chevy needs to be above average..
  16. The article says it's a Mitsu Outlander variant..
  17. Hmmm..didn't Cadillac do a Platinum edition Escalade?>
  18. Not surprising...the Korean cars (which the Aveo is) usually come up short against the Japanese entries in any comparison.

I got over 6 years out of my Dell Inspiron 7500..got it Jan '00, and used it at 3 different companies when I was a contractor. It still works fine, running Win 2k and Linux. It's just too heavy to carry around and I'm finding more software that doesn't work with Win 2k and the 256k of RAM and small hard drive are limiting..(this computer actually cost me $0, but I've referred to it as the $9500 laptop (there's a story behind that). I hope my new MacBookPro lasts me as long..

I'm not sure how it is now, but a few years ago (around 2000) the Latitudes were the cheap business machines, and the Inspirons were the high-end business machines (for programmers, for instance). My Inspiron 7500 is much more rugged (the case, etc) than the Latitudes I've used since then.. It just seems Dells in general have gone down in quality over the last 5 years or so..

Agreed...I bought a couple Dell desktops back in the '90s from their website, but my more recent computer purchases have been in person...bought my MacBook at the local Apple store..I like having a local brick-and-mortar place I can take it should it need service..

My company buys Dell Latitudes..we have had a lot of problems with them over the last 4 years..I've been through 2 myself--video card failure, fan failure, DVD drive failure, power supply problem, etc.. I think Dell quality has slipped a lot in recent years.. My personal 6yr old Dell Inspiron 7500 still works great--running Win 2k and Linux dual boot. But it's a very heavy old brick. Still fast enough for my needs, but... so I recently made the jump to a Mac..bought a MacBookPro last weekend as an early Xmas present for myself..so far so good..it will be perfect for personal home use and work when I go back to being an independent contractor (next year)...the best quality about the Mac for me is the Unix inside aspect of OS X.
  23. Technology is no cure for stupidity. Reckless drivers will always be that way.
  24. Can't GM just hire an assassin to take this senile old fool out?
