Yes, before the Olds Toronado...I think it was a long time ago before C&G, but he's mentioned it before. Ocn posted that to try and get him to come out of exile and post something...

I suppose the competition would include the XT4, Corsair, Evoque, e-pace, GLA, Q3, X1/X2, XC40...crowded segment.

You didn't get ocnblu's reference, though? (Our fearless leader Drew used to own one).

Haven't had to leave the house in a few days, but sitting here watching the local news, they were showing footage of traffic downtown in the snow and saw a clean 1st gen gold Chevy Lumina 2dr turning at a light...

Traverse. FWD, V6, largish family car....Tahoe kind of fits the old Impala formula up through '96---full size, BOF, V8 large family car.

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
I'm certainly more inclined to believe climate studies from legitimate university scientists and researchers than corrupt right wing politicians, big oil shills, flat-earthers, and religious zealots. -
Fascinating random video I saw posted on a couple FB groups...a guy with an in-car camera documenting his commute home on the 405 in LA...in 1988! A real time capsule of traffic and radio from 30+ years ago.

I think within 5-10 years BEVs will be a much more mainstream purchase option. -

The benefit seems to be far greater complexity and cost to repair...a benefit to dealers and independent shops. -

It's hard to tolerate ignorance and stupidity. Does seem to be a bit contradictory, or maybe a bit of 'do as I say, not as I do' ? -

Yes, but at least 50% of Americans are imbeciles in general, I see no point in trying to communicate with them...fuck them..live and let die. -

Dude, it's futile arguing with them...they will never change their minds. Best to just agree to disagree and move on. The US is full of anti-science people, arguing with them is futile. -
I've only been watching his videos for a month or so, seen mostly recent ones and some older ones...not sure who the guy is that appears at the end of some, acting like his enemy (Turbowski?) And I notice some say the garage segments say 'without Turbowski'...
-
I like seeing the underside of vehicles in his videos...something I never really see in the real world. I like the roads too, remind of ones around here...beat up Midwestern roads w/ some curves and undulating sections..

Maybe they are planning a full size Bronco on the F150 platform..that would be cool...have 3 sizes of Bronco. Or this is a special edition of the F150 they are developing....Raptor Xtreme Megazord or something... Raptors are all extended and crew cabs, a regular cab Raptor w/ a 4 ft bed would be cool.
-
They already have a Ranger Raptor outside the US, so it would seem a Bronco Raptor would be a natural since the Bronco uses the Ranger underpinnings.

Gas pumps and tanks are messy and have a lot of environmental hazards and regulations involved. Plus you have the problem of getting the gas delivered. Though farmers probably have solutions for that issue. Have to ask my farmer buddy how he does that.

China is a communist country. Not a market economy., I'd assume the government can set prices to whatever they want... -
The Savage Geese guy basically said the same thing...Ford loyalists will find it an improvement over the previous model and not cross shop... Yes, but not in use as daily transport on streets and roads (excluding the Amish).
-
One of the YouTube review guys I like (Savage Geese) said it looks like Ford intentionally built it to be a rental/fleet model. <random content> Still February, but it was 50, sunny and breezy at the lake on Sunday..enjoyed a stroll at one of my favorite parks...had to remind myself that it is still a month until Spring. Been rainy today, snow on the way... </random content>

I assume they will set the prices of EVs to be comparable to ICE vehicles then phase out ICE vehicles. Thus EV sales.. -

That Chevy Menlo looks sharp, better than the dumpy Bolt. Alas, if they sold it here it would be $50k. -
I think it's that way here also, local dealers bringing in inventory. Cleveland Auto Show is dealer sponsored. Held in a 2,200,000-square-foot exhibition center...

I sat in a 2020 Explorer at the auto show last weekend. I like the dark brown paint. It's a good looking midsize SUV, but the interior looked and felt cheap... Should have taken pics..the plastic trim on the side of the seat was loose, some of the dash trim was loose. Knobs on dash felt cheap and like they would break off easily. As can be seen in the photo in the Motor Trend article linked above, the trim on the driver's door around the door handle was loose with a huge gap. Nothing about it felt more appealing to me than my 6 yr old Grand Cherokee.
