GM News: GM's Upcoming Electric Onslaught
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
I don't know if it will be the Z06 or the ZR1, but I'd love to see a street C8 with the wing and bodywork of the C8R...- 282 replies

The AMG One might have been interesting 5 years ago, but now it would be just another hypercar.. Koenigseggegg is doing some really interesting things w/ ICE design.- 282 replies

GM News: GM's Upcoming Electric Onslaught

An EV Vette would be cool to see down the road... will be interesting to see the kind of performance Tesla gets out of their new roadster.. The AMG One is mythical, I would think the Tesla Roadster is more likely to happen and be faster..- 282 replies

They really were the same except for minor trim differences and the front and taillights. The Comet had a bulging hood/grille/bumper center section.

Amazon Prime/Whole Foods is having issues..tried to place an grocery order and they couldn't schedule a delivery time tomorrow (or any other day this week). So I went to the local Giant Eagle (NE Ohio/W Pa chain) this afternoon, no more crowded than usual for a Sunday (worst day to go grocery shopping), they were pretty much out of bread and meat, no TP or paper towels either. But I found pretty much everything on my list. I'm not sure if someone has a sense of humor or what, but back by the empty meat counters there was a shopping cart chock full of packages of condoms with a 20% off discount sign.

Would be nice, but most likely they will create an XT7 off the generic Traverse, etc platform. Their RWD based models are superior to GMs FWD generics though.- 282 replies

GM isn't in that niche...they make volume FWD/transverse engine appliance CUVs and heavy BOF full size SUVs.- 282 replies

Strange times. I haven't been to the grocery lately---Amazon Prime/Whole Foods deliveries have been fine.. though they are out of TP (I have plenty though).

None of that means anything in the real world, though. Using Nurburgring numbers with an SUV is absurd.- 282 replies

It kind of is. GM has withdrawn from many markets, cut most of their sedan models and continues to lose market share. Other than NA trucks and full size SUVs, they have no market leadership or dominant products. It’s time to go big for the future or go home.- 282 replies

For someone creative, it could be the basis of an interesting resto mod. Mount the body shell on an Escalade chassis, keep the Escalade drivetrain and front clip...

They are doing that here also. These are strange days for sure. It will be interesting to see what long term changes and unintended consequences come of all of this.

It's going to be a lot of not good for a lot of people, I'm afraid.. it seems like a lot of quick, panicky decisions, not well thought out.

I think they've closed schools statewide in Ohio for the next 3 weeks, and universities/colleges have closed classrooms.

Most of the developers and management have laptops at my client, but many of the people working on the business domain side (claims processors, actuaries, etc) have desktops along w/ the customer support staff.. Rogan's a comedian/MMA/podcaster though..not a journalist or anyone authoritative or serious. Just another talking head.

Just had a conference call all hands w/ my client...the CEO advised everyone that can to work from home that they can, but a lot of people in the offices (Scottsdale and Tampa) have desktops and not laptops.

Haven’t tried Zoom or Slack. My client is moving from Skype to Teams though I use WebEx with the offshore teams.

No idea. I thought maybe he got a new job and that’s been keeping him busy.

#eatwellpoopwell #bigamericanbowelmovements Speaking of toilets, when I remodel my main bathroom I’m going to get one of the high end Toto toilets w/ the bidet, lid that rises to greet you, heated seat, WiFi, remote control app, etc.
-
It’s always good to stock up on toilet paper, though. I always like to keep at least a dozen rolls on hand in each bathroom, and a couple dozen extra stashed away.

He’s doing what he can to protect his financial interests. He couldn’t care less for the citizenry except for his base and how he can exploit their fears.

I like the front end on the late Grahams...saw one at a show once. Some Streamline Moderne/art deco influences in that front trim..

Ok, so the bulb was sealed in the lens/reflector housing..I remember how the big round lights used on '60s-70s cars looked when removed... There was some variety in headlight lens shapes in the 30s, IIRC from pictures I've seen the '39 Plymouth for example had squarish lights.

Pretty much all automakers in the US went to sealed beam in '40, didn't they? Never was sure why they were called 'sealed beam'...so were their predecessors 'non sealed' ?
