  1. Quite different now for starting out than in the 90s I would think..
  2. Well, my Masters degree is in Computer Science. It's served me well the last 25+ years...degrees that are relevant to growth fields are always a good idea..
  3. Reality is complex..going to be interesting what happens over the next few months.
  4. The best $15k, 20k, 25k 30k vehicles in my opinion are a 3 yr old CPOs...just too many dull FWD 4cyl appliances under $30k.
  5. True, and the full size SUVs are new, as is the Corvette. The rest of their US product line is just forgettable FWD appliances.
  6. Can't think of a much, beyond a couple 4 cyl gray interior despair mobiles like the Mirage and Spark...
  7. Which are being built...ChargePoint, etc...
  8. It definitely wasn't an S-class... dark blue cloth interior IIRC..strange, funky little hatchback.
  9. Everything I've read about it is that it is a trouble prone POS, esp. those stupid falcon doors...
  10. Driving in Italy is definitely an adventure...I enjoyed my vacations there back in the mid 00s...driving a diesel manual Mercedes A140 from Rome to Pompeii and Salerno (along the Amalfi coast) and back was an adventure. And driving from Milan to the lakes up north in a Vectra diesel was fun. I remember the fast food at Spizzico's in the Autogrill rest areas to be tasty.
  11. Maybe $25k-30k to start....there really isn't much of a market at $15k is there?
  12. GM won't be dependent on a proprietary charging network, though? I assume they are building product to use the standard charging stations..
  13. Really cool...I do like airports and aircraft in terms of the infrastructure and operational aspects...
  14. It depends on the individual use case...I wouldn't want a truck for hauling stuff that I haul maybe a dozen or so times a year. And anything large I'll get delivered. In my adventures in suburbia, my SUV is fine for my needs.
  15. It is going to be interesting the next few years to watch the new GM EVs and see how they are received in the market and how they sell...
  16. Well, since it is BOF, it has truck DNA.. definitely not a CUV. People still refer to truck-based SUVs like Tahoes, etc as trucks. Yes, and those bags often leak. But I have a Weathertech mat and a liner in the back of my Jeep. I haul many bags of molch, grass seed, pottering soil, small trees, shrubs, etc during planting season.
  17. The Bronco is looking good. https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/a31399894/2021-ford-bronco-spy-shots-leaked/?utm_medium=social-media&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=socialflowR%26T&fbclid=IwAR3iaYg9EnR9brW7RBWQyznLI1BCCQeuh831WAFkDUjWOCbj4H3deyrzTIw
  18. Subaru tried the Baja a decade ago or so, didn't last long. On target for this discussion about mini pickups Jalopnik did an article today on the Chevy Montana in Brazil...based on an old Opel Corsa. https://jalopnik.com/heres-the-12-000-chevy-pickup-truck-we-dont-get-in-ame-1842244435
  19. GM could do an EV pickup version of the Bolt.
  20. A friend once told me that my perspective sometimes was 'there is no glass'...
  21. Yeah, similar size. The Brazilian Fiesta-based Courier that was built through 2013 had dimensions of 2,830 mm (111.4 in) wheelbase, 4,457 mm (175.5 in) length, 1,793 mm (70.6 in) width and 1,477 mm (58.1 in) height. It will be interesting to see what comes of this, I can't imagine a unibody regular cab integral bed FWD/AWD pickup for the US market, but who knows... just seems too basic and minimalist.
  22. Smaller, I think...kind of a replacement for the Fiesta-based Courier that was sold in various markets in South America. I think the new one is going to be something FWD/AWD/unibody based off the Escape.
  23. Yes, they both look good from the pics so far...
  24. Since the names from the past would mostly just appeal to an older audience that won’t be interested in EVs, they should avoid any retro or heritage image with the EVs. They really have to focus on the future. I can't really see GM's legacy customer base going for new EVs, these are going to have to appeal to new buyers that are seeking EVs..
