  1. And yet the people that sell the Ghost, Phantom, Mulsanne, Panamera, Cayenne, Aventador, Gallardo, Rapide, Range Rover, and Quattroporte are international. Maybe 'international' was the wrong word... the reality is that Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz use alphanumerics..Cadillac is trying to emulate the leaders rather than lead..as are Lexus and Infiniti.
  2. Personally, I'd rather see the heritage names but I know those won't fly since they are trying to be international..
  3. Who is all this BMW shadowing supposed to appeal to, that's going to sign for a Cadillac? These folks want a misshapen & bloated 4-dr hatchback, they can march over to BMW for their fat dozen sedans and kindergarten naming schemes. Again: Cadillac does not "Need" to answer all 43 models at BMW. Well, they are trying to compete w/ the big 3 (Audi, BMW, MB) so it's natural they are going to try and match them at some level...maybe not in lock step, but be competitive in the major niches...
  4. Or they could do something like CS* for the coupes...CS4, CS6, etc... and then have something like a XS5 for a sport utility coupe...(X4 or X6 competitor).
  5. I saw it a couple of years ago at a client I was working at for about a year. They were full all the time, drivers had to coordinate w/ other drivers to use them (the other consultant I worked with at that client had a Volt)..they were so successful they expanded from 4 to 8 spots in late 2014. Saw a variety of cars, several Tesla S'es, Volts, Leafs and a Tesla roadster... At my current client, they are currently adding 3 floors to the parking garage and will be adding charging stations on the first floor.
  6. Since MB has a long history commercial vehicles incl. vans, buses, heavy trucks, they don't need other brands..they've kept the Freightliner brand, but have acquired others in the past in Europe and absorbed them..
  7. The thing that is funny, I bet they would sell...esp. for trades and delivery in upscale areas like Paradise Valley or Scottsdale..I see Merc badged Sprinters in use way more than Freightliner badged vans or GM vans around here..
  8. Hopefully, Ford will have one at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale...I'm going this weekend.
  9. Mmmm...Cadillac cargo van...a Euro style van to compete with the M-B Sprinter would be cool.
  10. Should start at 0....I always start at 0.... 0,1,2,3... (since that is how indexes work in most programming languages.. Maybe they should focus on $40k and up, since GM has Buick and GMC as the filler brands between Chevy and Cadillac, at least in the US.
  11. So a CT0? If the ATS sedan becomes the CT2, ATS coupe becomes CT3, and the CTS becomes the CT4...
  12. Busy? I'm encube at work debugging code and writing SQL queries....
  13. Article seemed clear enough..the Q1 will be a subcompact CUV, Q2 will be a compact sized CUV, the Q4 will be an X4 competitor.. CUVs for every budget and size niche...following the same patterns of BMW and M-B, fill every niche and niches between niches and within niches...
  14. As a child of the 70s and 80s, with two Baby Boomer siblings, I heard the Eagles constantly growing up...always liked them, liked Glenn Frey's solo work...esp. the songs from Miami Vice ('Smuggler's Blues' and 'You Belong to the City')...I remember buying a Glenn Frey solo album ("The Allnighter") and a Don Henley solo album ("Building the Perfect Beast") along w/ the Eagles Greatest Hits on cassette to listen to in my Mustang in high school before I got my first CD player...The Eagles 'Greatest Hits 1971-1975' and 'Greatest Hits Vol II' were the staples (on cassette) of many motorhome road trips w/ my folks in the 80s.
  15. They could combine the names, and have the Compatriot. Or use Patriot in the US and Compass in Europe as they did with Liberty and Cherokee.
  16. There are only 10 federal holidays in 2016, I only get 8 of them off through my contracting house, but my client takes 9 plus the Friday after Thanksgiving ( which should be a holiday). In addition to the holidays, only get 15 PTO days but since I work 4 9s and do a half day on Fridays it's not too bad...
  17. Pretty quiet at my office today. Several coworkers out today, either taking it as a PTO or sick day...
  18. Agreed... I have to go to work today..the only places I've worked in the past that took off all federal holidays were a municipal office and a bank..
  19. That was a great game...I'm on edge watching the Steelers-Broncos game...
  20. Indeed. I believe astronauts on the space station can actually see it. I'm surprised Ford or Chevy haven't tried to one-up them, with a blue oval or bow tie so large it extends into the taillights...or GMC with the three letters as tall as the taillgate itself...
  21. Yes, Toronado XS. According to the Wikipedia, the XS and XSR both had the bent glass window, but the XSR had power t-tops that slid inward into the roof.. The design suffered from water leakage, and was only a one off prototype. The XS had a power sunroof. (fun fact: Tomica of Japan made a 1/64th scale XSR in white, I have one in my collection). All the '77-79 Impala and Caprice coupes had the 'bent glass' rear windows, similiar to the later Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe back window.
  22. Who knows, if the new Ridgeline is a hit, maybe Chevy will tool up a competitor off the Traverse or Equinox and call it....(drum roll) El Camino!
  23. Nice pics....have you had a chance to drive it in any snow of substance yet this winter?
  24. Looks like a Toyota truck..nothing really new or different, just another Toyota. Will sell well, no doubt.
  25. Yeah, I think only the Ram Rebel has the funky new grille There is also one trim level that has a chromed one with the big RAM letters..Ram 1500 Limited.
