  1. Today's sightings were flooded roads. The Phoenix area set a new record for the most rain in a day--was raining steadily from around 2am till noon...on the drive to the office, a 4 lane street was partially underwater (maybe 2-3 feet at the low side) and I went through on the one open lane..saw a submerged white Chrysler Crossfire and a red Pontiac G6 cabrio (first of those I'd seen in ages).
  2. I don't think the CLA is the target; the C-class is the target..I'd assume the price will be in the ballpark of the ATS, 3-series, C-class, A4, IS, Q50...base in the mid 30s rising to the 50s probably...
  3. Sweet...I love Boulder...do you like it, Drew?
  4. That was the first thing I noticed..the greenhouse and doors strongly resemble the Commodore/SS...the XF has a similar greenhouse but sleeker..
  5. I like the CTS use of LEDs also. Speaking of LEDs, I noticed for the first time today the updated LaCrosse---they are like angry eyebrows or checkmarks over the headlights...hmmm
  6. The K900 is a bad name--sounds like a Kenworth name. And too much overlap w/ Hyundai...does Kia really need to try and match them model for model?
  7. What is the rationale for such a statement? The more brands the better...more consumer choice.
  8. Also saw a black late model Shelby GT500 w/ Arabic license plates..don't know what country it was from (Saudi Arabia? UAE?), though..
  9. Saw an eclectic group of cars yesterday morning on the way to work--white McLaren MP4-12C spyder, red Ferrari 458 spyder, black Cadillac XLR-v, and a black/silver Rolls Royce Wraith--the first of the new big RR coupes I've seen--stunning.
  10. I'm used to seeing Escalades and Yukons on the same lot, along w/ SRXes, Encores, Terrains, and Enclaves...not really any overlap in CUVs, but if Cadillac adds some, then Buick isn't going to be happy.. Buick is sort of the near-lux brand, I guess.it is strange that GM still has two filler brands between Chevy and Cadillac when most all other automakers have gone to a two brand strategy.
  11. That's how they are here in the Phoenix area...Buick, GMC, Cadillac..
  12. Cadillac only has one crossover. The SRX. The Escalade is an SUV .....as are the suburban, Tahoe, and Yukon. If they had 3 or 4, their sales would be a lot more. Look at all the lux marques.....the percent of crossover sales vs sedans..... And that is a FACT. Cadillac should be putting together an all out assault for 2016 MY ready to debut in Summer '15 of at least two new CUVs and a new SRX all simultaneously put out. New ATX (small), New SRX (med.) new CTX (large). Sales would go up JUST LIKE THAT. It is precisely what is driving the market. The Audi Q5 actually OUTSOLD the A4 last month. The two top sellers at Acura are the MDX and the RDX. BMW is adding more and more CUVs. I would assume the reason they don't have smaller CUVs at Cadillac already is Buick..pressure from them is pretty keeping them from adding more.. Nope. Buick is a non-issue and is autonomous from Cadillac. Uwe has made that clear. 'Sides.. Buick is a complimentary brand to CHEVY as is GMC. Cadillac's line-up is independent. The reality is Buicks and Cadillacs are there in the same dealerships, so there is going to be cross shopping..and hasn't Buick been targeting Lexus for years (which should be a Cadillac competitor)...
  13. They dropped the ball on the new 200, though..interior choices are black or black and light gray. Blech. I don't think Chrysler even offers a gray interior on the new 200, even on the base models. The one you are thinking of is a linen color which is not gray at all. More like antique white? Looked gray on the website...off-white, pale gray...not too awful, I guess.
  14. They dropped the ball on the new 200, though..interior choices are black or black and light gray. Blech.
  15. Too many 'despair gray' interiors at GM. Ford and Chrysler are guilty of this also.

  17. Detroit? $30k is more of a partial down payment on a house in the world I'm used to...
  18. Gakk..every model was down, except for the Golf.
  19. August is also back to school time...I'm sure some of those 3 series sales are to parents getting them for their kiddos...
  20. Either the monthly numbers are reversed, or the recall had a stop sale aspect. Notice the YTD numbers.
  21. Saw the new Sonata the other day..not bad. Not very distinctive, but not hideous from the front like the current Hybrid version. The new Genesis looks really good, seen a couple of them.
  22. Metal switches? Those are not going to be very good to touch in the summer when the interior gets to 145F...
  23. It was a Suzuki cultus
  24. Saw an eclectic mix today...white CTS-v coupe w/ black wheels, a very clean blue & silver early (85?) Chevy Sprint (before the Geo version)--haven't seen one of those in years, amazing to see a 30 yr old econobox that clean... saw a pale green early '00s vintage Vauxhall Corsa 5dr (what is that doing in AZ???), and a very clean pale yellow '75-76 Caddy Sedan de Ville, and a black 2nd gen 6dr Escalade..
  25. Well, they aren't FWD family sedans... buyers of these cars are often single or DINKs, so they don't need a lot of rear seat space.
