  1. More of the trendy 'angry robot' violently ugly styling...I wonder when this trend will disappear. They ripped off recent Nissan C-pillar design. I guess this is what happens when a generation that grew up watching the Transformers start designing cars..

  3. No 'view new content' feature anymore?
  4. Saw a few interesting cars over the weekend in Oh & Pa...including a solid dark blue '65 Olds 88 4dr sedan, a red '75/76 Eldorado convertible, and a '15 Mustang GT in '65 Shelby colors (white w/ blue stripes). Also saw a number of cars and trucks less than 15 years old (a couple Silverados, Rangers, etc) with serious rust and rust holes...don't see that in AZ... Also several of the new Transits in various liveries incl. UHAUL.
  5. I wonder why it has a 3.0 V6 since the MKS has a 3.7 V6. All in all I like the styling, wondering how it would look in production form...less chrome inside, smaller wheels.. I like the tail treatment in particular..not sure about the grille..better than the current motif, but not sure if it's particularly Lincolnesque..
  6. This past Fri-Mon I had a '15 Malibu LT for a rental, picked it up in Columbus, Ohio and drove to various places in Eastern Ohio and Western Pa, in and around Pittsburgh and east to Monroeville and the PA turnpike a bit. I'd driven a few of the previous generation Malibus ('08-12), but this was the first of the current generation I'd driven. Interior impressions: well equipped, all the expected cabin features in a midsize car. Hard plastics on the doors and dash, but nice to look at--brown and light tan two tone. I like the brown. Good HVAC controls w/ dual zone climate, etc. Gauges well positioned and easy to read. I liked the blue lighting behind the chrome trip strips in the dash. Tire pressure monitoring is a nice touch. Still has the annoying GM unlocking of doors when you shift to park (never liked that feature). Comfortable w/ plenty of legroom and headroom. Since I didn't sit in the back, the typical complaints I've read about rear seat room in this car didn't matter. Lots of room back there for empty water bottles and my coat (it was cold Fri/Sat in Ohio and Pa). Exterior: familiar, kind of anonymous but pleasingly clean. Looked very good in the dark red, I like the profile of this car, though the high tail makes for a bit of blind spot in backing up. I did a lot of freeway driving on I-70, I-77, I-79 etc this weekend as well as stuck in city traffic in Pittsburgh and enjoying the hilly streets and roads around the city, muddy Ohio back roads, etc. Generally very quiet around town. Noticed the start/stop engine shut off. Some tire and wind noise at 70-75 mph on freeway, but not excessive. The car felt very solid and tight overall. Seemed to have more than enough power to get out of it's own way in merging and passing. Did notice the transmission taking a while to shift up on long hill climbs a couple times, though. All in all, with the addition of a sunroof (I'd keep the cloth seats), I could live with one of these as a daily driver for a few years. I'll admit I haven't driven many of it's contemporaries (had a rental Camry and an Avenger in the last 18 months), but it seems like a perfectly fine all around daily driver and road trip car. I'm looking forward to seeing where Chevy goes w/ the 2016 model.

    2015 Malibu rental review pics

2015 Malibu LT rental in Ohio March 2015.
  8. The regular B-class has been on sale in Canada for a few years....it's M-B's competitor to the Ford C-Max..just a small FWD people mover.
  9. Saw a very sharp red w/ white top '73 Eldorado coupe and a very clean dark blue '75-76 Eldorado convertible, top down. Also saw the silver '65 Olds Jetstar I 2dr that I seem to see once a year.

  11. Name: Cadillac DTS (2000) Date Added: 15 March 2015 - 12:44 PM Owner: Cubical-aka-Moltar Short Description: My sister's car, but my name is on the title. I drive it occasionally. Smooth ride, plenty of power. View Vehicle
  12. Saw several '15 Explorers and Edges last week...a street next to my office building in Scottsdale was blocked off by the police 4 mornings in a row...it appears Ford was filming a commercial on that street--saw several '15 F150s, Transits, Mustangs, etc also there. Also saw a dark blue '15 Charger on Friday, first I'd seen in person, looks much better than in pics, esp. w/ some chrome on the grille.
  13. Saw a red w/ white vinyl top '68 Riviera in my office parking garage again..been seeing it a couple times a week lately. Also I've seen a sharp red '64 Valiant convertible driving w/ the top down 4 times in the last 5 days in my neighborhood.
  14. Supercars in general are just so violently ugly today..all the disgusting bare carbon fiber, loud colors, and unreliable, fire prone... they look like they were styled by 14 yr olds. I like more down to earth 'near supercars' like the timeless 911. The latest Corvette iteration does nothing for me styling-wise, though I think it's an excellent car to drive from what I've read.
  15. From what I've read, the 2018 project is for a small scale (2-3 mile) version for a subdivision under construction (that has been delayed several times).
  16. I couldn't make it to work in the morning w/o coffee...usually up before 5:30, have a cup or two at home, occasionally going through Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts/McDonalds/Einstein Bagels for breakfast and coffee...then usually 2-3 more large cups (travel mug size) at work before I cut it off around 10 am.. I couldn't image life without coffee. Sometimes I'll have a cup of tea, I especially like Chai. I've tried to cut out soda completely, but some afternoons around 3 when my energy is fading I'll have a Coke.
  17. My gig the last 6 months has been pretty predictable so my commute is only about 20 min (morning) and 45 min (afternoon) to and from Scottsdale, only about 15 miles each way. Besides work just some the usual driving around town shopping, etc. But I will be probably next month be starting to do a company trip one week every month or two to other company locations, alternating between Jamaica and Barbados. Probably won't be driving in those locations.
  18. Saw a couple clean classic Cadillacs today--a red '69 de Ville convertible, top down, white interior and a white '67 Fleetwood Sixty Special.
