  1. It's still going.. needs for the next few months are tires, shocks, brakes. Thats still a healthy two grand done right, maybe three. Yeah, the way I look at it, it's still cheaper than $500 a month in payments on a new car. Only had $250 in maintenance so far this year (oil & filter change, electrical repairs to driver's door).

  3. Well, if they got it in the fall of '12, maybe they've had a long commute for close to 2 years...I used to work w/ a guy in Colorado that put 75k on cars in two years with a 90 miles each way commute. Over on the TDI club forums, some guy with like an 11 TDI Jetta Wagoin had 400k PLUS ON IT ALREADY. His job was following semi trucks with oversized loads with an oversized load placcard attached to the Jetta. That's a LOT of driving...my 14 yr old Jeep w/ 152k doesn't seem so bad...

  5. You can always wait a couple years and pick up a CPO one...
  6. Some sweet cars in those car show pics..would love to see that '68 Mercury convertible up close..
  7. Seems like $40k is the new $30k in car pricing...crew cab pickups all seem to be in the $40-50k range and beyond today...under $30k is mostly FWD 4 cyl appliances...such it is
  8. Yeah, it's definitely not a track day car..this is a modern-yet old school muscle car/pony car, like the Shelby GT500..I'm sure the Camaro Z/28 would out handle it. .I'd take the Boxster S also--a pure sports car would way more involving on the twisty back roads. Still, it seems like it would be a lot of fun for what it is. What would be really cool is if this same hardware config was available in the Charger, esp. in a muted base-looking model w/ black wheels.
  9. What kind of trees? They are heavy with fruit it looks like. Grapefruit...I have orange trees in the back, palm trees front and back. My whole neighborhood used to be an orange grove.
  10. Saw a tattered but still driven '65 Caprice 4dr ht at the grocery tonite...maybe nearly 50 years in the AZ sun had baked the paint, looks like it was a silver blue.
  11. Pretty sweet, the only negative I see is the dumb name--WTF is a 'Hellcat' ?
  12. When clean it still looks pretty good.. driveway pic w/ the DTS on a rare (for here) heavy rain day a while back..
  13. Ya, one advantage of the CO & AZ dry climates...still no squeaks and rattles, it's held up pretty well for almost 14 years of primary use...
  14. 152k miles now...the power window/mirror/door locks issue turned out to be a frayed wire in the wire that goes from the body into the door, common problem according to people on the Jeep forums. Fixed that, oil change, filters, tranny fluid. Running great, A/C is still pretty cold. Probably will need a set of brakes, shocks, and tires later this year. Racking up the miles more slowly in '14 as I've been driving the DTS a lot lately.
  15. Speaking of buses, I saw a slammed baby blue and white VW doublecab pickup w/ one of those vintage side window swamp coolers in traffic tonight..sweet. And saw 3 XLRs today in traffic--a silver one, a black XLR-v, and a dark blue one.
  16. Turbo Porsches and Turbo SAABs have long had followings, going back to the 70s...niche models, but were pretty well received back in the day I believe. As far as the here and now, I'd like to see more performance-oriented turbodiesels offered.
  17. I didn't realize they were still selling the 2nd gen coupe...I thought the '15 CTS was only the 3rd gen sedan.
  18. I hate how the right wingers oppose paying taxes but still like to use the roads...want everything for free, leeches...
  19. There is a dark gray late model Aston Martin V8 Vantage parked in my next door neighbor's driveway today.
  20. Nasty... haven't seen a CTS coupe w/ a top like that, though I saw a CTS-v sedan w/ one a while back.
  21. Saw a white Aston Martin Rapide in an airport parking garage last night...next row over from it was a very strange '05-10 Chrysler 300--done in matte black w/ large black wheels, and a giant blower thingy w/ 2 carbs and a scoop sticking through a hole in the hood. I don't know if the blower/etc was fake, seemed out of place on a modern car.
  22. 4 speed? LOL..it's not 1980..and this a FWD appliance..
  23. Yeah, Fiat probably wouldn't build one for GM NA since they are doing one for Ram, conflict of interest.
  24. There at least 4 Volts in my office complex, which is owned by ASU....my coworker w/ the Volt is leading the charge (no pun intended) to get ASU to add charging stations to this parking lot, would make sense now as they are ripping up everything to put in solar panel carports over the lot..
  25. That's pretty much standard culture in most businesses I've been in...don't rock the boat, don't say anything that will draw attention to yourself and potentially embarrass management if you value your career...that's just the way it is.
