  1. ...and I am lusting at the thought.... Regal is still a seriously sweet ride though.... It's one of GM's best looking cars currently, IMO....love the rear end design and roofline...looks so good in that brown..
  2. Came out of the grocery tonight and saw a dark blue BRZ in the lot..looked so sweet in the late afternoon light..
  3. Those JDs are neat...my Dad had a 1962 JD 2010 w/ wide front axle on the farm for 30+ years..used it w/ a brush hog for mowing and a snow plow for plowing the 3/4 mile driveway in the winter...
  4. Interesting ideas...hard to believe there could be sporty RWD Buicks again...
  5. If it wasn't for the China market, Buick would be as dead as Pontiac, Saturn, Oldsmobile, etc.
  6. I think the level of standard equipment that the typical buyer expects is much higher today than it was in the past. Stripped cars as were available 30-40 years ago wouldn't fly today...even in the small cheap segments (Spark, Sonic, Cruze, etc) cars tend to be pretty well equipped, even in base forms... 7. They are both way too old to be a daily driver, IMO, but I'd go w/ the newer car, if the mechanicals are better shape (how does the mileage compare to the Camaro). I'd be more concerned about the electrical accessories on the '84, since the Camaro probably has a lot fewer and is simpler.
  8. Keep the tri-shield, bring back the red, white and blue and give the colors a jeweled appearance. Some shiny but tasteful bling could work.
  9. Saw a strangely customized '64-66 Chevy pickup...light green and white stock style paint, but lowered to an inch or so off the ground, big chrome multi-lug wheels in the front, dually rear fenders (on a fleetside) with huge rear tires and giant, deep rear wheels and a diesel rumble. Was scraping bottom on a curb cut..
  10. Enjoying the 4 day weekend. Didn't do any cooking, went to a local resort's restaurant for a delicious Thanksgiving buffet w/ family in town for the weekend. Went and saw 'Skyfall' yesterday (excellent) and went out for Italian. Mostly just chilling out catching up on reading and watching a bit of tv. Only shopping I've done was buying wiper blades today..
  11. Well; 1960. Whoever compiled the graphic apparently was unaware of a little thing called 'model year'. The Tri-Shield appears no where on any MY 1959 advertising or the cars themselves, I can assure you. Ah...do you have this emblem?
  12. Interesting..didn't know the tri-shield only goes back to 1959..
  13. Hmm...vinyl seats and no A/C---misery.
  14. As far as the Malibu and Impala, IMO GM goofed on the Epsilon II wheelbases...don't know why there are so short in both SWB and LWB versions compared to the platforms they replaced. I assume the short wheelbases and narrowness is partially due to Epsilon II being a global platform.
  15. LoL..it's not 1977...
  16. I assume the pricing reflects the low mileage (for it's age) and good condition....most used cars that old are worn out w/ over 100k miles.
  17. Someone in Mexico probably knows the truth
  18. Who knows? Long ago and far away..
  19. Where did you find this? Wikipedia...seen it elsewhere in the past, not 100% sure of the accuracy, though. I wonder if they were badged as such in Mexico..
  20. A bit of Elco trivia I found--in Mexico, it was sold as the Chevy Conquistador.
  21. The tires look to be in much better shape than the car.
  22. Speaking of tiny cars, I was sitting at an intersection tonight...there was a Smart car behind me, a sweet '60s vintage Mini (LHD, red, w/ a pair of big rally style driving lights) in the left turn lane across from me, with a modern Mini (also red) beside it...the vintage one was so small...
  23. Sounds like King Midget was from Athens, Ohio. They had a long run, 46-70. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Midget
  24. I believe so...that's the one I was thinking of...
