  1. I still think a Suburban ZR1 would be great..
  2. So they will have the ILX, TSX, TL, and RLX....I wonder if the TL will get renamed TLX.
  3. Hmmm...do the German police have pudgy cops as we have in the US? Need to lay off the pastries.. The high door/narrow window design trend seems to be everywhere today... I was sitting next to an Equinox in traffic last week, noticed it had the windows rolled down and how tiny the window openings seemed in comparison to my '00 Jeep..
  4. I guess the plastic has warped over time? It looks like there is just a hole cut around the lights without a bezel or frame around the lights.
  5. Strange..would have thought they would trademarked SS decades ago..
  6. From what I've read, my generation (X) is much smaller than the Baby Boomers or the Millennials/Gen Y.. the Boomers are still going to be a big part of car sales for quite a while (since the youngest ones are under 50).
  7. Well, 'world' in the sense of the World Series or Super Bowl...
  8. Young's Jersey Dairy. Their website goes moo. http://youngsdairy.com/ About 30 miles from the Dayton airport. http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Dayton+International+Airport,+Vandalia,+OH&daddr=6880+Springfield-Xenia+Rd,+Yellow+Springs,+OH+45387&hl=en&sll=39.86328,-84.04023&sspn=0.298837,0.676346&geocode=FVrOYAIdyuP6-iE1Dw0vHY4WCw%3BFXS2XwIdZjoA-yl3p-r-Zl8_iDE1v4R6rIyg0g&oq=Dayton+intern&mra=ls&t=m&z=1 1
  9. If they have no bread, let them eat cake. The "youfs" are currently 50... and every year that cars get more expensive compared to average income, the higher that number will go up. Soon all cars will be designed for 90 year olds... the numbers on the dashboard will be 6 inches tall, the controls will be like a Fisher Price activity center... good for arthritic hands will lousy motor control... and they will largely drive themselves... at 35 mph with the left turn signal on for miles... without the ability to turn off the self-drive feature. Have fun. I don't where this 50 number comes in, but I know plenty of people my age (early 40s) and younger that are buying new cars...
  10. Sweet...always liked the styling of those..
  11. The youfs can always ride a bike, the bus, or buy used cars.. Seats get adjusted if you have two people using the car.. though memory seat settings make that chore easier.
  12. Yes, manual windows, manual vinyl seats and a cassette deck don't cut it anymore (what my first car had). Small cars don't have to be depressing gray and stripped inside anymore...can get them quite loaded and civilized today.
  13. $ = $ So $3,100 more than previous Focuses. The html editor Mudmonster uses is broken, it looks like.
  14. True enough. I don't have kids, but I like both 4drs and 2drs. I don't have an irrational response to 4drs that some have.
  15. Sweet...as a kid I remember these being very common. Nice to see a red one instead of the usual brown w/ beige top...
  16. Interesting..didn't realize the 30/40 series didn't have 4 cyl versions. Edit: apparently, outside the US they have been available w/ 4cyls.
  17. Saw the ZipCar Tesla and Volt on the street when I walked to lunch today..
  18. I wonder how Suzuki's other US operations are doing (motorcycles, ATVs, etc)
  19. Ah, I see it now. I don't know how I missed it. Here's the total shakedown: 2013 Dodge Dart: $15,995 base MSRP plus $795 destination = $16,790. 2012 Chevy Cruze: $16,800 base MSRP plus $795 destination = $17,595 2012 Ford Focus: $16,500 base MSRP plus $795 destination = $17,295 2012 Honda Civic: $15,755 base MSRP plus $790 destination = $16,545 2012 Toyota Corolla: $16,130 base MSRP plus $760 destination = $16,890 So, I guess it's actually the second cheapest car among those five. Source: cars.com Added the other 3 major models in the segment... Hyundai Elantra base MSRP 15345 plus $775 destination = 16120 Kia Forte 15200 plus $750 destination = 15950 VW Jetta 15515 plus $770 destination = 16285
  20. No, in the article I listed the $795 destination charge. Add that into the Dart SE's price tag and you're actually $16,790 How does that compare w/ the Focus, Cruze, Corolla, Civic, etc?
  21. Aside from the Cherokee — which I never got to use as a daily driver — and the Dakota — which I don't honestly consider to be my vehicle — all I've owned are two-door vehicles and I've never had any issues with practicality or parking. The extended length of a coupe's doors aren't just for form, they're also there to aid in getting people in and out of the back seat. I also have a habit of parking slightly away from everyone else to prevent total assholes from dinging up my car, so I've never worried about tight parking spaces. It's still easier to get in and out of the back seat w/ a 4dr than a 2dr. I've owned/ driven a mix of 2 doors (Mustangs, BMW M3, Merc 300CE, Bronco) and 4drs over the years but I find I prefer a 4dr in daily use. And with assigned underground parking at work, space to open the door is a premium for me... being able to park away from everyone else isn't always possible in the city...I'll always want to have a 2dr or two, though.
  22. Interesting...I didn't realize the Spark was on sale yet...though I did see one about a month ago.
  23. Beautiful car....I prefer the cleaner, crisper '64-66 ones...the '61-63 have a lot of weird details like the freestanding headlights and taillights, sqircle steering wheel, etc but still interesting...
