  1. It amazes me just how willing folks are these days to make this most dangerous bargain. Most people couldn't care less...as long as they can keep w/ the latest news on the Kardashians, play Farmville, get their fast food, they are happy...
  2. The Corvette is V8 only also. This is a low volume niche model...I would assume pricing would be in the ballpark of a Charger SRT8... The ATS is intended to be a high volume model. But the Vette is a sports car, and who knows, it may even get a V6. Even the S-class and 7-series offer a V6/I6, I think if it is V8 only they are going for really low volume. But maybe that is what they want. Maybe they will offer a non-SS version w/ a V6 at some point in the future, if they build it in NA. Chevy already has the Impala, they don't need two big cars w/ V6s...

  4. Doubt if that is going to happen... I don't know if they are going to bring back the Z/28 name, maybe w/ the next generation. And then there is the SL1..
  5. Surprised they couldn't get more creative with the name. Oh well..nice to see Chevy finally getting a Charger competitor.
  6. Sounds like the name is going to be 'SS Performance', but that seems rather odd to me..
  7. Neat...that looks very similar to the '71 Swinger my brother had in '78...same color, same vinyl top. It was his only Mopar amongst the 50 or so cars he's owned over the last 45 years.
  8. Probably 90% in Toyotas...
  9. The yellow pads look like they were just randomly tossed on the dash..very cheesy looking. I don't care for the dash design at all, but the exterior is clean.
  10. As far as data gathering, it's all part of the 'Surveillance Society' world we are evolving into...in many areas, the US is behind countries like the UK, and is working to catch up.
  11. You are joking, right? It does have a rather long trunk...looks like at least a 4- if not a 6-body trunk....maybe the Caddies had longer ones then. As far as '69-70 C-body styling, I think I prefer the Buick Electra 225, esp. the rear end.
  12. I can imagine the Patriot Act allowing the NSA or Homeland Security to store this data in the vast new Utah data warehouse under construction to mine for potential terror threats, as they plan to do w/ all email traffic, Facebook posts, Twitter posts, etc. I can also such data being useful to law enforcement for ticketing, precrime data gathering, etc. Will such data it be used this way? Only time will tell. Life in the electronic age..
  13. Sorry to hear that. Good luck in finding your next gig.
  14. I've long liked the SCs....sadly, pretty much anytime I see one or any T-bird of that generation they are completely worn out...
  15. Cut the friggin' wires! Yank it out! You guys are always modifying BRAND NEW Cars, just get rid of the thing!! It would probably void the warranty.
  16. Care to justify your stance please? It's obvious. A lot of irrational paranoia about how such a technology will be used.
  17. Reality is complex. I can see how event data recorders would be useful in accidents. But they could also be used for automatic ticket generation for speeding, reckless driving, etc. And some sort of event data recorder will be necessary for Google's self-driving cars. I can see how divorce lawyers, parole officers, etc would look like to get their hands on such data also.
  18. The front end refresh doesn't improve the Taurus, IMO.
  19. I don't really have an opinion one way or the other on this. Automobiles may be private, but they are driven on public roads for which you need a registration, license plate, driver's license, etc for. I would not consider aircraft to be public...they are privately owned (by people or corporations) but their travel is regulated.
  20. Why so? The paranoid, anti-government types jump on things like this and always assume the worst... I suppose you'd be fine with a spy cam in your bathroom too, huh? No correlation there. Black boxes in cars are similar to black boxes in airplanes.

  22. I'm trying to figure you out on this one... you complained of the same thing with the Cruze. The Malibu is about .5 of an inch larger than the fusion in each rear seat dimension except legroom where it is 0.2 inches smaller. It is roughly equal to the Accord all around and again equal to the Passat in every thing except legroom. Slightly bigger than Optima/Sonata... I wonder how the rear legroom compares to the previous generation Malibu, considering they cut the wheelbase about 4-5 inches. The rear door openings look really tiny (I noticed that when I opened a rear door and looked in at a show...)

    Bad Move

I plan to always have at least one SUV. Another Grand Cherokee sooner or later...
