  1. I've been to B-J 3 times...last time, I spent 7 hours there wandering around looking at the cars..
  2. I had thought about going to BJ Saturday, but I think I'm going to hit the Gooding & Company auction on Sat, the Scottsdale Pavillons cruise in (usually 1400 on auction week), and maybe the Russo & Steele auction on Sunday..
  3. The next time I work from home and my yard service is there, I'll be sure to check w/ them as to the type of their gas cans.
  4. It just seems like such a trivial complaint in the bigger scheme of things. People figure out somehow how to use gas cans everyday.
  5. Saw something rare today--a '79-81 Chrysler Newport, in beige w/ a tan interior...looked fairly solid, bombing down the freeway w/ black steel wheels and no hubcaps. Maybe only the 2nd R-body I've seen in many years or even decades.
  6. Saw a new Jetta on the road for the first time a couple days ago..not bad looking. Really? thought those cars had a beam rear axle like FWD cars usually had back then.
  7. I'd probably get an electric lawn mower before I'd deal with gas cans. (I've thought about getting an electric mower as my experience w/ yard services has been so spotty over the last few years, have an electric string trimmer and tree trimmer already).
  8. I think they should sell plastic gas cans at any auto parts store and larger gas stations, probably at Wal Mart or Target also...I bet the cheaper ones are about 10 bucks. I had to use one last year, kind of weird driving around with it inside (since I don't have a trunk, had to sit it in the rear floor, w/ the right rear window down).
  9. I'd have to get a mullet wig to drive the Camaro. I love the exterior, but the interior not so much, and esp. the poor outward visibility...I think the Mustang or Challenger would be easier to live with...esp. the Mustang..love the interior. Loaded Mustang GT vs CTS coupe...hmmm...
  10. Nope..donks are lifted with 22s or 24s or larger and have 4x4-like ground clearance...these cars had normal ride height and the wheels were only 19 or 20 inch. Looked quite tasteful IMO on the '76-77 MC..
  11. I've seen a couple in person, still haven't warmed up to the design..I like greenhouse shape, but the tail is so thick vertically, and stubby lengthwise..
  12. Not to continue to go further off tangent, but were there other Buick concept cars from GM in the 60s or 70s other than the XP715 and Silver Arrows? Don't think I've seen any mentioned in the literature...
  13. Add another 'p', rearrange the letters, and you can get the currently trendy buzzword 'derp'.
  14. I wonder why they don't use struts like hoods or hatchbacks use instead of the gooseneck hinges?
  15. Saw a sharp bright red '78-87 El Camino (could only see the rear 2/3s), had what looked like 19-inch ARE TTs. Saw a sharp white (no vinyl top) '76-77 Monte Carlo w/ large (19-20 inch) chrome wire wheels on white wall tires. Not sure what this style is called, wheels are too big to be a traditional lowrider. Saw a primered '72 Monte Carlo w/ the same style wheels and tires as the '76-77.

  18. Well, since Ford is one of Chevy's main competitors in the US, I would expect the Cruze to priced similar to the Focus.
  19. I would hope they would have an 8 speed by then..the competition is moving to them now...I assume the next 3- and C-class will have them.
  20. I didn't realize the sedan was different from the current one until I looked a second time...subtle changes to the greenhouse and lighting.
  21. I wouldn't mind having a Lincoln...but it's got to be at least 4000lbs, V8 and RWD. I grew up w/ my folks driving Continentals and Town Cars (my Dad bought a new one every few years from the mid '70s to the mid '90s). I just can't jibe 'Lincoln' with a small FWD car..
  22. The way I like em equipped they are $35k or so...V8 and loaded. I've priced out the Charger R/T, Mustang GT, Camaro SS, Challenger R/T online a few times.. which is reasonable, my Jeep was over $30k when I bought it in '00...a similarly equipped V6 GC Laredo would be close to $40k now. I'm holding off on pulling the trigger on a new car for right now, got a bigger purchase in mind in the next 12 months or so..
  23. Hmmm..the sedan looks pretty much the same as the current model...the coupe looks like it has a similar greenhouse as the Accord coupe.. Plus there will be 2 more hatchback bodystyles for Europe and other markets. Well, Honda is a small company..they have a few models, a few platforms to spend their $$$ on..so they can be focused. GM has to spread their $$$ across many models, many platforms...
  24. No idea...been a while..at least back to '03-04, because I remember being around a while when the big event happened in Aug 05. I realized the other day that one of the modeling forums I'd been on since 1999...
