  1. As they say w/ luxury cars, 'if you can't afford it new, you can't afford it used'. German luxury cars seem to degrade into money pits of pain as they get older. I'm still trying to get my sister to unload the German driveway ornaments she has now (and drives maybe 20 miles a month).
  2. I like the wood...much nicer than the vile (real or faux) carbon fiber trim that appears all too often in high performance models..
  3. Too bad they didn't go the badass hardcore route w/ the Black Diamond--make it aggro like the AMG Black Series cars..lighter materials, bigger wheels & tires, more power...like a street version of the race car.
  4. What about the rear console? They should remove the back seat, would make it more hardcore.

    ICE!

No ice or frost, but wow...was 32 when I came out this morning, and 42 at noon. Sunny, clear and very windy. Not used to highs only being in the 40s. The wind was really loud last night. Supposed to be even colder tonight.
  6. Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell. Mansell (of Pop Will Eat Itself) is on of my favorite movie music composers..really liked his soundtrack for 'Smokin' Aces' and 'Requiem for a Dream' (which this track is from). I first discovered this track through a sample in the track 'Zoo York' off Paul Oakenfold's 'Bunkka'... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKLpJtvzlEI
  7. O Fortuna, Carmina Burana, Carl Orff. I love this dramatic, dark piece. Been used in a lot of movies and tv shows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjvqY-U9gV0&feature=related
  8. Silent Lucidity then Operation Mindcrime, Queensryche
  9. Looks to be too low in the center stack to be useful.
  10. 6 new CTS-vs in a row in front of the local Cadillac store. 3 coupes, 2 sedans, a wagon. Sweet.
  11. They do some tailoring, like w/ the Cruze...other markets get more engine choices. GM is an international company, they can't put their head in the sand and focus on one declining market, they have to go where the growth is...
  12. Isn't GM going to abandon that niche like Ford is?
  13. I got the new issue of Road & Track in the mail Friday..has illustrations of the new 911 that are supposed to be fairly accurate. Looks good, clearly an evolutionary design. I believe it's not an update of the 997 (which was an update of the 996) but a new platform, etc. I like the evolutionary approach Porsche takes..the 911 always looks like a 911, regardless of the generation. A 4cyl version would be interesting, and not unprecedented--the 912 had a couple runs in the past..
  14. I'm surprised they didn't build it in Puebla, Mexico like the Jetta...cost of labor would be even cheaper than a non-union plant in TN, I would think.
  15. Yes, from when it replaced the Corsica and the name came back in '97. Even the last RWD ones from '78-83 were as dull as their FWD replacements (Celebrity).
  16. That's only the enthusiast community, though..99% of car buyers have no knowledge of the existence of car markets outside the US.
  17. Ok..I stand corrected..I thought I had read it was being designed by GMDAT like the Cruze, etc.
  18. It's not a police car..in the US, with the highest speed limits being 75, anything over 85 or so is improbable..
  19. Isn't the Malibu going to be a Chevywoo international model, replacing the Epica outside NA? Like the Cruze, Aveo and Spark..all from GMDAT or whatever they are calling it this week...
  20. Lots of interesting dash designs there. One thing I don't like about recent GM designs is how similar they all look wrt the center stack, vertical center vents, 2-3 gauges in a pod, etc..
  21. Putting out fire with gasoline...
  22. sucks
  23. Speaking of someone doing stupid $h! with gasoline, there was something on one of the sites last week about some dolts in an '80s Dodge van that poured gasoline into a cup then poured into the carby...started it, and the gas vapors exploded.
  24. Sounds like a load of not good back east.. I'm supposed to fly back to oh tomorrow for my moms Bday fri
