Maybe a version of the little Doblo (Transit Connect size) or the big Daily or Ducato (Sprinter sized). Called Ram Tradesman, I bet. Maybe they will do a retro trim package called "Street Van" w/ stripes and chrome mags like they did in '78..

The way the article was worded, it sounds like there was an issue w/ using the 6spd w/ the 3.5 or 3.9 in the W-body..maybe the 3.6 w/ the 6spd fits.. After the Lucerne and DTS go, the Impala would be the last model using the 4spd, maybe they want to put it and the 3.5 and 3.9 out of production sooner than later. With the 3.6 and 6 spd, they could keep the W Impala as is for another 5-10 years..

Liked the Mercedes ad. Day,m, the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid has a hideous front end. The Camaro ad is clever...

My favorite so far is the Chrysler one. Great use of music and Detroit imagery and a great tagline. Liked the Doritos one w/ the pug. Though the beverage ad w/ the woman throwing the can was pretty funny also. Fast Five ad---looks like a dreadful over-CGI'd mess Cowboys and Aliens movie ad- same as above Kia Optima ad- same as above Thor ad-same as above Transformers 3 ad-same as above, plus big Michael Bay explosions Coke ad-more CGI. Meh BMW X3 ad..strange that BMW would emphasize the 'Made in America' aspect. Interesting that the Budweiser ad and BMW diesel ad both used '70s pop hits. Passat ad w/ Darth Vader- odd but amusing

Well, Eminem is a Detroit icon.. and the ad was about Detroit. I liked it, fits well w/ the GC ad from a couple months ago.

Most promos since the '97 Corvette have been from Revell, though AMT has done a couple recently ('08/09 Challenger and Corvette). Back in the '60s-70s, AMT, MPC, and Johan would make promos then make regular glue kits that were derived from them but with engine detail..most of the annual car kits in the 'annuals' era ('58-late '70s) were this way, though some annuals didn't have promo equivalents (like the AMT '67-68 Cougars). Sometimes promos were offered in unassembled kit form also (The AMT Craftsman and Jr Craftsman kits). Occasionally, they did promos but didn't do a kit version---like the '61 Impala 4dr ht, '65 Bonneville convertible, and more recently, the Geo Storm and Olds Intrigue from AMT.

Nothing like those were ever made in kit or promo form. The Modelhaus makes a resin '90s Caprice wagon transkit that works w/ the Revell 1:25th scale Caprice police car snap kit. They also make a sweet Roadmaster wagon resin transkit as well. Promos normally don't have opening hoods or engine detail, most are curbsides. Since the '80s, the selection of promos has been very thin---MPC in the '80 ('78-80 Monte Carlo, El Caminos), AMT in the late '80s-'90s (Silverados, F-series, Rangers, Explorers) but by and large, over the last 30 years most 1:25th scale promos have been Corvettes and Camaros, with the occasional variations like Berettas, Geo Storms, '89 Taurus SHO, Olds Intrigue, Olds Aurora (from Brookfield Collectors Guild), etc.

I haven't seen many of them yet, will take time to check them out. The Audi spot w/ Kenny G I saw was painfully stupid.

Lincoln seems to be following the Buick direction...compact, midsize and fullsize FWD sedans, compact and large CUVs. With a bit of Cadillac in the mix w/ the Navigator.

I've always liked those cars, along w/ the Eldorados of the same generation. Those '79-85 Eldos were so crisp..I esp. like the ones w/ the stainless steel roof, and also the Biarittz convertibles.

Heh-heh..if you flatten the sides of the quarters and make the rear more vertical, it does have a similar rear shape to a modern decklid. I was referring to the strange butt of the CTS coupe.

True..but the Eldo was a much larger car inside and out than the tiny CTS coupe. That's a sharp Eldo...always liked the Eldos and the last two generations of Sevilles..great lines, and real decklids..not a trunk lid that is five inches long and 4 feet high..

Maybe there is more of a slope/elevation difference between the roadway and where the nose is than the photo implies...or the car was launched over something..wild that it would end up on it's nose. I bet that driver was terrified..imagine getting out of the car when positioned like that.

Never heard of a merlette, but how about 'Black Mallard'...in reference to the ducks that used to be on the logo...since the V-series is a Cadillac that really zigs..

With a bed w/ a cap, you can keep the unsavory stuff separated from the nice interior...can't do that with a wagon.

A black '11 Camaro SS convertible w/ Michigan plates and top up on the freeway early this morning...sweet.
