  1. I couldn't imagine life w/o technology.. I don't know what I'd do for a career w/o computers and software..it's what I got my degrees in (Computer Science) and do for a living, been using computers since I was a teenager in the mid '80s. Though I'm not as much of a gadget fanatic as many of my peers and have never been much of a gamer...still couldn't imagine not having high speed wireless internet at home or a smart phone. Couldn't imagine using a corded phone or not having cable HD TV. I wouldn't make a good Amish (a lifestyle that's still around back in rural Ohio where I'm originally from)...they are the most removed from technology in the US and seem to live a lifestyle unchanged for centuries..
  2. Saw a solid, unrestored-looking '62 T-Bird hardtop driving around Tempe yesterday..brown w/ white roof...I think it was the same car I saw at Russo & Steele last month..
  3. Is it perceived to be as badazz as the Prius? or the Leaf?
  4. Well, not on the DTS or Lucerne...but on the models that skew younger.. Regal, CTS, SRX, Escalade...... You don't have to be a 20 something to be into apps and smartphones...I know plenty of tech savvy 35-45 yr olds into phones, etc..
  5. Odd they are rolling it out on just the Cruze and Equinox, why not on higher end models like Buicks and Cadillacs?
  6. There is one of those Infiniti Ms in my neighborhood, about an '05..with the usual AZ paint oxidation on the hood/roof/decklid and headlight fogging. Nicely styled car..
  7. Some thoughts...how is the drivability, how's it feel in daily driving as far as NVH, steering feel, ride, compared to a 'normal' car of similar size like the Cruze.. How are the ergonomics..the center stack controls look rather unique from the pics, how do they work in the real world? How is the seating position, adjustment, visibility?
  8. I like the look overall...though I prefer the more dramatic styling and hardtop of the E-Class coupe, but there will be a big price difference no doubt.
  9. I guess the little window at the front of the door is there because there isn't enough room for a full piece of glass to go all the way down. The black triangle looks worse than the little window on the previous generation...the basic problem is the windshield is angled back too much, and the base of the A-pillar too far forward..The Alfa Romeo Giuletta is a good example of a FWD compact that doesn't this bad A-pillar design.
  10. Ya, at Russo & Steele it was like that also...after seeing 4-5 dozen (it seemed) 1st gen Camaros, Novas, and Chevelles they all blended together..same w/ the muscle Mopies... But the one-offs at Gooding and Company really stood out..
  11. Saw that one up close...pretty rough, but restorable...don't know if the owners are going to preserve it as is or restore it.
  12. Yawn..just another appliance. Will probably sell well, though.
  13. I skipped Barrett-Jackson and went to Gooding and Company and Russo & Steele this year..I esp. enjoyed the Gooding and Company event--a small venue, small number of cars, very esoteric.
  14. Does GMNA really need crossovers at all 4 brands? Seems like a lot of overlap..
  15. LoL...keep in mind, though, these are just cheap trucks..can't expect Cadillac-grade interiors..
  16. Change the decals, and it's an Impala, like the real NASCAR cars..
  17. For stalks, I like the approach Chrysler had over 10 years ago like on my GC...two stalks, all lighting controls on the left, all wiper controls on the right. Cruise control controls on the wheel w/ volume/mode/station up/down. Hard to improve on that. I've driven a few cars w/ the cruise control on a stalk, don't care for that. Anyway, back on topic...wonder what engine choices the NG small truck will have...and wonder if they will keep the C/C names, or get new names?
  18. While oot and aboot today over in Scottsdale I saw a dark gray Ferrari California spyder, top down and a Grabber Blue '10-11 Shelby GT500 convertible, top down. Beautiful afternoon here.
  19. Hmmm..Pad Thai or Pad See Euu...mild or Thai hot?
  20. Cool..that was the last Olds B-body wagon until '71, I think.
  21. Nothing wrong w/ the proportions..it's RWD, not a FWD generic..
  22. The upcoming Ferrari FF is one..other regular production ones I can think of are the Jensen GT, Reliant Scimitar GTE and arguably, the BMW Z3 coupe. Lots of custom ones, mostly from English coachbuilders..
  23. The decklid looks to be about a foot lower than the CTS.. Though the E-class coupe is more the competitor of the CTS...the ATS coupe whenever it comes out (2015? 2020?) will compete w/ this car...
  24. The greenhouse looks way too much like the Accord. Understandable that they would do it w/ the fixed b-pillar, though, to distinguish it from the slightly larger E-class coupe. So now after many decades, Merc finally has a 3-series coupe competitor..
  25. The personal luxury coupe, definitely, already covered by OB... One genre that has died out that I've always liked is the RWD, V8 full size sedan... the traditional American-style big cars. The Ford Panthers are the last of this genre... I liked the 2dr versions also, but those have been gone for over 25 years now.. I like the Chrysler 300 and Charger quite a bit, they have a long wheelbase but are smaller, more sport sedans, not of the classic floaty land yacht style..
