  1. The way it was parked you couldn't see the front end. It's not as bad up front as other Mazdas, doesn't have the happy fish look of the 2 or 3... that reminds me..I saw a green 2 in Ohio.
  2. One car the styling kind of reminded me of, at least the greenhouse and rear quarters is the current Ford Mondeo. Though I've only seen the current gen Mondeo in photos and not in person. I like the front fenders, and the curve around the hood down below the grille...nice that it doesn't have the current smiley Mazda face. It does have one of the notorious black C-pillar triangles, but it's well executed..they should have put a tiny window there, IMHO. It's a car that seems very competent but didn't leave a big impression on me other than that it was very competent, polished and quiet. Didn't have the factory nav, but did have the Hertz Neverlost Navteq external unit..worked really well, showing little obscure township roads out in the E. Ohio hinterlands...
  3. Found that one last week..
  4. Latest fun w/ the Jeep...my sister picked me up at the airport this afternoon...on the way home, ran over some debris (that she tried to avoid) on the freeway and heard something bump around underneath....got about a mile from home (off the freeway) when the left rear tire blew out..drove a short distance on the rim into a parking lot. The entire sidewall is shredded. Called AAA and they arrived in about 10 min and changed the tire (was too tired to change it myself). Not sure if the rim is damaged or not, but my sister will be getting me a new Goodyear Fortera Silent Armor this week... Looked around underneath after getting home, the rubber liner thingy in the rear wheelwell is flapping around, looks like it's ripped loose from the rear bumper where it was screwed to...great.
  5. Picked up a white Mazda6 at Port of Columbus Airport in Columbus, Ohio Thursday afternoon, dropped it off this afternoon. White w/ charcoal cloth interior. Put about 250 miles on it driving from Columbus to Cleveland (went to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum) then down to the family farm in Tuscarawas County and back to Columbus.. Nothing really to complain about...plenty of power for a 4cyl, quiet, smooth. Comfortable, good outward visibility. Reasonable controls. No steering wheel adjustment, though I was able to adjust the seat to my liking. No MP3 jack that I could find. Didn't like the red lit gauges at night. Turn signal control was counter-intuitive. Was getting great gas mileage, I think. Good steering feel, didn't feel too nose heavy..drove it on some windy backroads in Stark and Tuscarawas counties.. Felt solid, bigger than I thought it would be. This is the 4th midsizer I've driven this year (2 Fusions and a Malibu previously), and it seemed comparable to the others I've driven. As an aside, I met C&G's own 66Stang for some good Thai and good conversation in Columbus.

  7. Darkness on the Edge of town Bruce
  8. Fun.feels like a Stephen king tale.
  9. Top company priority : profitability
  10. Happy. Birthday . Happy. Birthday . Happy. Birthday .
  11. I wonder how such a creature finds employment
  12. I like my motorola droid. Had it since may..my only internet connection this weekend in amish country.
  13. I've only seen one so far in person, a few weeks ago. I really wanted to like it from what I'd seen online, but in person...the rear is too short and tall, IMO..the edge of the decklid seems to be 4 feet off the ground..very polarizing design...
  14. I don't think we would have seen any such 'outrage' stories had the Volt been a Toyota. But being a GM, it gets extra-scrutinized and criticized. Of course, some of GM's moves (the dumb 230 mpg claim) haven't helped them...
  15. Yes..and notice the car in the pics is dark gray or black. Thus in the pics where the C-pillar is visible the black triangle isn't noticable...a silver or white profile would clear show the hideous Sebring midsection.
  16. This seems like a pretty substantial MCE...I'm wondering if the convertible is going to get the same upgrades and name change.
  17. Interesting in how they avoid showing the profile.
  18. Interesting that no pics or info have emerged about the Avenger...I guess they have been keeping the Avenger quiet until the Charger and Durango are fully launched...
  19. I have a friend in Denver that actually traded an '00 Mustang GT convertible on an SVT Focus. He enjoyed both cars for different reasons. Alas, now after marriage and 2 kids, he's been PWed and drives a Honda Oddessey.
  20. The sunroof on the coupe is tilt only? That is lame... a sunroof should slide back into the roof..I guess I'm used to Mercedes metal sunroofs that are only useful when they are open.
  21. There is a color combo I've seen on some current Acuras (RDX, TL) that would great on the CTS IMO...it's a metallic root beer brown w/ a light tan leather interior..love that color combo.
  22. Yeah, in the big Grand Wagoneer...I don't think it ever used any Chrysler engines during it's length run..
  23. The Sebring to 200 upgrade retains the Sebring greenhouse and doors..reminiscent of how the 00-07 Taurus was an update of the 96-99. The 08/09 Taurus update was just an MCE of the 500 while the '10 Taurus had a completely new exterior and interior.
  24. Keep the Mustang. I would avoid any high mileage used car like the plague unless I were going to do drive it locally a few days a month.
  25. I like the hood cutout for the badge...it's too bad Ford didn't use the similar European hood and fascia style for the US Fiesta...the US model's grille treatment looks cheap.
